“This was my first experience leaving our dog, Nova (border collie), with strangers overnight, but Natalie allowed us to visit with her twice at her home a few days before the booking, and that helped tremendously. I really appreciated that. Nova warmed to Natalie right away and I know this made Nova feel more secure when I dropped her off for the weekend. I certainly felt better about leaving her there because she didn't seem as anxious as she was the first time we visited. Also, Nova is the only animal in our household and she "rules the roost," so I was glad that she had other canine company. Natalie sent texts and photos to me while I was away and Nova looked alert, calm, and content. I really appreciated getting little messages about Nova and answering any questions Natalie may have had. While I did think about Nova a lot during the weekend (we've had her all her life and she's 9 now), I did not worry about her. I felt she was safe, looked after, and treated kindly. Their dogs Magic & Brooklyn were great with Shorty, & he sometimes has problems with new dogs. Vicky sent me great pics every & really put my mind at ease, seeing Shorty livin the doggy life. Vicky even brought Shorty to work with her at the pet hospital where she works & I know he loved that. Travis, Bobby's brother was also really great & Shorty warmed up to him right away. Shorty is used to sleeping on the bed & they allowed that, and also figured out something yummy for him to eat when he wouldn't. Now that my childhood dog (Brownie) is getting older, I’ve also gained more experience with senior canines too. I am currently unemployed, so I’ll have plenty of time to give attention to and care for your precious fur friend(s)! I am available for check-ins any day of the week after 11am. My family is able to help with transportation, but please discuss details with me ahead of time for availability if needed. My house has a spacious front and backyard, including an invisible fence that both of my dogs are trained with. There are plenty of dog beds, water bowls, and a big bucket of toys laying around inside the house. There is also multiple doggie doors leading from the inside of the garage and into the house (both have slide door blockers as well). I am located on a quiet dirt road and can offer dog walks to get extra energy out. A bathtub is also on the top floor if you’re interested in giving your pooch a relaxing spa day. About: Growing up I’ve had pets ranging from dogs to reptiles. Spending time and taking care of them was never a job but a passion. From volunteering at animal shelters at a young age to pet sitting for friends and family, I continue to express my love and care for animals. I also have a 16 year old Portuguese Water Dog at home and she is my world! I currently work full time from 8am to 4pm Mon-Fri. Sitting for pets before and after my work hours on those days is no problem of mine if the owner is ok with them spending that period of time alone. That being said I am also able to spend nights at owners homes on said weekdays. I live in a private neighborhood with great dog walking roads and trails. I also have an elderly dog who enjoys company and a backyard for the two of them to play.

About: I raised, trained, and cared for my family dog from a puppy when I was in high school. Post college I adopted a senior dog and cared for him for the last couple of years of his life. In the meantime I have been a sitter for friends and family dogs and cats over the years. I am used to giving medications (even when it needs to be disguised) and staying on a feeding schedules. I am very up for caring for senior dogs who want to lay around the house, and equally ready to go on long walks with a dog with more energy. I work from home always, so will be around during the day for pups who like to hang! I'm on the East End of Portland with the Eastern Prom very close by so plenty of places to walk and explore. I am usually out and about in the evenings for a few hours at a time. On the weekends I like to be busy, but can certainly adjust my time when I have a dog or cat around. I have a large one bedroom, and am on the 3rd floor. So my place is likely not good for pets with mobility issues (unless they are small enough that I can carry them). I live very close to lots of nature easily accessible and make a point to get outside often.

It's not unusual for me to spend two weeks at a clients home to watch their dogs while they are on the road, vacation etc. I have experience with my own animals as well. I certainly felt better about leaving her there because she didn't seem as anxious as she was the first time we visited. Shorty is used to sleeping on the bed & they allowed that, and also figured out something yummy for him to eat when he wouldn't. About: I have worked many different animal specific jobs over the years. From pet stores, dog bathing, to overnight doggie daycares. There have always been animals around me at home, especially dogs! Now that my childhood dog (Brownie) is getting older, I’ve also gained more experience with senior canines too. I am currently unemployed, so I’ll have plenty of time to give attention to and care for your precious fur friend(s)! I am available for check-ins any day of the week after 11am. My family is able to help with transportation, but please discuss details with me ahead of time for availability if needed. My house has a spacious front and backyard, including an invisible fence that both of my dogs are trained with. There are plenty of dog beds, water bowls, and a big bucket of toys laying around inside the house. There is also multiple doggie doors leading from the inside of the garage and into the house (both have slide door blockers as well). I am located on a quiet dirt road and can offer dog walks to get extra energy out. A bathtub is also on the top floor if you’re interested in giving your pooch a relaxing spa day. I love taking photos/videos, don’t hesitate to ask!
