About: I’ll admit it — I’m a relatively new member of the cat-obsessed club. Last year, we decided to foster kittens for the first time, and we quickly discovered that we are not very good at the whole “give them back” part. Two foster kittens later, we officially became cat parents. One of our kittens came to us as a medical foster when she was sick and needed some extra TLC. Caring for her through that experience taught me a lot about cats very quickly — from administering medications and monitoring how she was doing to learning that a tiny kitten can somehow take over an entire household. Watching her get healthy, come out of her shell, and eventually become part of our family was pretty special. Since then, I’ve learned that cats definitely have their own rules. Some will greet you at the door demanding attention, some want to play nonstop, and others need to conduct a thorough background check from underneath the bed before deciding whether you’re worthy. I’m perfectly happy with all three! I’ll let your cat set the pace and never force attention on a cat who would rather have some space. I’m comfortable administering medications, feeding, refreshing water, cleaning litter boxes, playing with energetic cats and kittens, and, of course, providing plenty of scratches and cuddles when requested by management. I’m also a pediatric ICU nurse, so following detailed instructions, paying attention to small changes, and staying calm when something doesn’t seem quite right comes naturally to me. I know how much trust it takes to leave a pet in someone else’s care, and I take that responsibility seriously. You can also expect plenty of pictures and updates while you’re away. I’m the kind of pet owner who wants photographic evidence that everyone is alive, happy, and not plotting my demise while I’m gone — so I’ll happily provide the same reassurance for you. I may have gotten into the cat world a little later than some, but apparently all it took was one round of fostering to turn me into a full-fledged cat person. About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with years of experience caring for dogs with very different breeds, personalities, energy levels, ages, and needs. I’ve grown up around pit bulls and retrievers and am currently a proud Chiweenie owner. One thing I’ve learned from caring for dogs is that understanding their behavior is just as important as feeding them and taking them for walks. I’ve had experience recognizing when a dog is frightened or overstimulated and giving them the space and reassurance they need. For example, when my childhood dog became overwhelmed after a stressful interaction, I took him somewhere quiet so he could calm down. During thunderstorms and fireworks, when he would tremble with fear, I would bring him somewhere comfortable and stay with him until he settled. I’m also the person at family gatherings who naturally ends up keeping an eye on the dogs—making sure they’re getting enough exercise and attention while also making sure younger kids give them appropriate space and treat them respectfully. I’m comfortable with walks, playtime, bathing, and overnight care. I enjoy both tiring out an energetic dog and providing a calm presence for a nervous one. I’ve also cared for cats and generally find that they warm up to me pretty quickly. I have experience administrating pills to dogs and cats. I also have experience with dogs that have seizures or epilepsy. I work part-time at the library so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets. Otherwise, my personal work is remote and flexible. I want to know and respect the rules of your house, whether the dog isn’t allowed on the couch, or the cat is restricted to a certain amount of treats, and so on.

For boarding and doggy day care, I care for only one dog or one family’s dogs at a time. If you have multiple dogs from the same household, I’m happy to care for them together. I have three cats, but they can be kept completely separate from your dog(s) if needed. My schedule is especially flexible during evenings, weekends, holidays, and university breaks.
