I was out of the country for around two weeks and worried about my cat because she tends to be a little shy and scared of new people and typically i only know how to deal with her. Michelle was perfect !! letting my cat slowly warm up to her presence visit by visit. She would send photos every visit and that was very reassuring, she would play with my cat and feed her and cuddle with gigi. I would get photos of gigi playing, running, and cuddling which is not her norm for when she meets new people so i was very happy with that.There wasn’t a moment where I was worried about my gigi. About: I grew up with dogs, so once I graduated college, I started dog sitting as a way to get my fix in. In the past several years, I've worked with cocker spaniels, pugs, golden retrievers, border collies, pit bulls, Austrialian cattle dogs, and mutts :) I have experience working with multiple dogs at the same time, as well as dog and people aggressive dogs. About: We are an active family that loves fresh air and exercise. We regularly walk, run, hike, and bike on the nearby trails and at Blackhoof park and Shawnee Mission park. We have 4 kiddos who love to cuddle and play with dogs. Our 10 year old black lab passed away a few years ago and we decided to wait for our next pet while raising the kids. While we don’t have a dog of our own right now, we love to cuddle our doggie friends when they come over to visit! We have a large fully fenced backyard so there is plenty of room to run around and play fetch. I am at home during the day so potty breaks and outside playtime are available all day long. Of course there is plenty of time for snuggles too! I am a stay at home parent with 3 kids in school and 1 in preschool. Except for occasional errands or picking the kids up from school, I am at home most of the time so outside playtime and potty breaks can happen whenever needed. Dogs have free roam of the house but we could crate your dog when we are away if that is your preference. We live on a a cul de sac and have a fenced in backyard, making outside playtime easily available. We love to play with our doggie friends!
About: I’ve owned pets all my life and have house sitting and pet sitting for over 5 years. I’ve always had a strong love for animals and cannot wait to meet your pets! As a vet assistant in school to be a veterinary technician, I am able to provide extra experience on administering medications, senior care, special needs pets, house breaking puppies, basic obedience training, and so much more! I have been working in the pet industry since early 2019 - beginning as a kennel attendant, evolving into a professional dog trainer in two prominent KC training facilities, and now running my own small business in Overland Park. I am thoroughly versed in canine care and communication, and use my expertise to help every dog that stays with me have a comfortable and positive experience. Not only that, but I am also very knowledgeable in canine enrichment and stimulation. Have a high-energy, high-needs breed? They'll end their days with me happy and tired. A senior dog that has special needs and benefits from therapeutic stretches? Say no more. Puppies are absolutely welcome as well, and will have many opportunities to practice socialization, building confidence, and manners. My experience also means that I am able to care for dogs with behavioural issues and special health needs. Boarding is dogs only. If you have other kinds of pets, please choose housesitting. Thank you!) My house is pretty well "dog-proofed" and oriented in a way that I am able to keep a close eye on pets from just about anywhere! So your pup gets to be the king of the castle, with lots of room inside & outside to run and play. Not to mention the mountain of toys.... When I cannot monitor them, they'll get to chill in a cozy crate or pen, with fresh water always available and a chew toy, puzzle, or snack to keep them entertained. For walks and other adventures, I will always keep your dog leashed and close to me. I love to take dogs out on excursions to parks, trails, and other such places! Of course, I will always check with you first to make sure that we don't go somewhere your dog doesn't enjoy. I have three adult dogs (all ~45lbs) and a cat in my home. The cat is dog-friendly, but also is able to be kept entirely separate from your dog if needed. My dogs are all 100% dog-friendly, have good play manners, and are also able to be neutral around/ignore other dogs when told. They are very patient with young puppies as well! And if your pup isn't one for new friends, don't worry - they can be kept totally separate on request, and your dog will still get plenty of one-on-one playtime & snuggles with me. It is 100% up to you if your pup has any interaction with other dogs (or the cat). Full separation is possible, but if you'd like your dog to make some furry friends, I am happy to safely facilitate that! All interactions between your dog and other pets will be of limited time and monitored - the dogs will never be alone together. For safety and management reasons, I cannot accept boarding bookings for dogs that are not able to be comfortable in a crate (or pen, for small dogs only). Have other questions or concerns?
