“Janis and Devin were amazing with my dog Jellybean. She still has so much puppy energy in her and is a handful. They sent pictures of Jelly looking very happy and comfortable in their home. Jelly had a great time at her overnight with Janis and we can’t wait to bring her back. I would give more than 5 stars if I could!”

“Mary sent me many photos and texts to let me know that Benny was being well-loved by her whole family. It put me at ease to know he had so much companionship throughout the weekend. Benny appeared to enjoy his stay! Mary was flexible about drop-off/pick-up times, and the house is very easy to get to off major roads, yet is in a quiet neighborhood (and they have a fence). We will keep Mary and her family in mind the next time we are in the greater Chicago area!”
“Shania was very accommodating to my last minute requirements. She provided updates on a regular basis and took a genuine interest in Lucky's stay. I will definitely use her again!”

“Meredith did a great job with my two girls! I was a little concerned at first, not sure if she could handle my 10 month old German Shepherd, Jream, but overall, she did very well even without having a fenced yard. My girls still got a full hour of playtime in a nearby fenced area where they were able to run and play ball freely. Meredith followed all my instructions, and I would definitely use her again.”

“Shawne was great! She took care of our Winston for us over a long weekend and tolerated the fact he didn't like her kitties so much! He was a bit anxious at her house the first night, and she changed his surroundings and got him settled down for the 2nd night. I appreciate her watching our anxious boy!”

“We highly recommend Nancy and Mark. They took great care of our fur babies. They enjoyed their stay. When we picked them up, they were relaxed and happy. Thank you, Nancy and Mark.”

“Moppet really enjoyed his time with Bernice and playing with the other dogs his size in Bernice's beautiful back yard. He is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with her and Cheddar. Bernice sent several pictures of him. Not only did he look happy and playful, but she actually got some really good pictures of him! (When I get out my phone to take pictures of Moppet, he turns his back to me like he doesn't want his picture taken.)”

“Couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! She was so kind and understanding. I ended up having an emergency and she was so easy to work with. Also, Freddy absolutely loved her! We got so many pictures and updates, definitely eased my mind while we were away. 100% recommend!!!!!!!!!!”

“April was great! From one sitter to another I appreciated her experience, professionalism and care. My dogs had a great time with her, and I had peace of mind knowing my mischievous beagles were in good hands!”

“Lilliana was great and accommodated our change in schedule. Communication was fantastic from start to finish. She also took care of my pet's special needs..it was truly a pleasure to have Peachy in her care.”

“What an amazing experience! I always get so nervous having to leave our girls to travel, but Angela was wonderful. She kept them busy, gave them lots of love and sent me TONS of updates and pictures every day of our trip! Right now they are both tuckered out in dreamland because they had such a great time! Thanks again Angela!!”

“Thank you for doing such an amazing job. I was so impressed. We will definitely be booking again. Jack had so much fun and I can tell he was well taken care of. We can’t thank you enough.”

“MacKenzie was great with Roadie! He had so much fun playing with and meeting new friends. I can tell he was well taken care of. MacKenzie kept me updated on his stay and was very good with communication. She even sent me beautiful pictures to remember his awesome experience!”

“I could not have found anyone more perfect to watch Corey! I can tell Monica and Daniel treated Corey as their own. I was so happy to see them playing with her and taking her places to run around, even during the cold, snowy days. The daily pictures let me know Corey was in good hands and on her own fun vacation!”

“Christine is absolutely amazing! She’s watched my baby (Ryder) 3 times so far. Christine made me feel comfortable and reassured me that she was in good hands. She gives consistent updates and always responds promptly. She is great with puppies. Ryder also made friends while there. I’m so glad I found Christine and will book with her every time!”

“Jasmine was such a life in accepting my booking request at last minute. I had to leave for outta . She took very well of shadow. Treated him like a baby which he loves btw. Made him feel very comfortable. No issues at all. I would recommend her again.”

“Dwight is amazing with my pups. I feel very confident they are happy that they are well taken care of. And they have an added bonus of play time with his two dogs!! Bonanza!”

“Laura took great care of my dog Alfie when I was out of town! She suggested an initial meet and greet, which was a fantastic idea since Alfie is very timid around new people/surroundings. While dog-sitting, Laura sent photo/text updates about Alfie and took him to the park (which he loves). He seemed very comfortable under her care. I'd recommend Laura to anyone who is looking for someone caring and reliable to look after their pet(s)!”

“This was my first time using Rover or someone I didn’t know to take care of my cat. I was very nervous. Megan was excellent. She was available at very short notice & did a great job with a very fussy cat. I will definitely look to her again should I need someone to look after my girl. She even went through some extreme weather to make sure my pet was fed. She was dedicated.”

“If I could Give Julie 10 🌟 I would. She's amazing and obviously loves her work. It takes a speak person to love all animals. Also, my home is a mess rn bc I got an illness that has caused me to close my business and I was kinda nervous about that and she made me feel very at ease. About EVERYTHING. So if you need a sitter. Julie superceded my expectations. Dont hesitate. It's worth every penny to not worry about these furry little babies!!!”

“Had another lovely booking with Grace and she did a wonderful job with our cat! We really appreciate her care and the sweet pictures she shares after each visit. Thank you so much!”

“Sharon and Mark went above and beyond taking care of our little girl, Phoebe, while we were away for 2 weeks getting married. The night before our wedding, there was a terrible storm that left the power out for over 24 hours and half of a tree down in our yard (with minor damage to the house). With the power out, our auto-feeder and treat shooters wouldn't work. Sharon made sure to stop by an extra time that day to check on our girly and give her enough food. It allowed me to relax and fully enjoy our wedding day. Additionally, Sharon went out of her way to check for any real damage to our house, which also allowed us to breathe quite a bit easier. Words cannot describe how strongly I'd recommend Sharon and Mark to you. You won't regret it!”

“We had never used Liliana before, but we were really happy with how everything went. She was very professional from the start and took the time to meet with us and the cats ahead of the visits, which immediately made us feel comfortable. She was thorough during each drop-in and handled everything we asked for without any issues. Her updates were thoughtful and detailed, and we really appreciated the photos and notes about how the cats were doing each time she stopped by. Overall, it was a great experience. We felt confident leaving our cats in her care and would definitely use her again in the future.”

About: I have taken care of cats for my entire life. One specific job I have taken recently for two years now is volunteering at my local animal shelter, and have had to administer medications and clean/tidy their kennels!

“Laylani came to us at a very difficult time. We had taken in a kitten unexpectedly that was very, very ill. We had a trip scheduled that we could not cancel, and the kitten needed daily feedings and medications. Laylani came every day at the same time to administer the medications and feed her. We are happy to say that the kitten is well on her way to being completely recovered. This would not have possible without her hard work. I gave her five stars because that's all the system allows, but there's not enough stars in heavens to show how much we appreciated the work that she did. If you need someone who is responsible and hardworking to care for your pet you can't do better than Laylani.”

“She did a great job with my fur babies! I also noticed when I got back from my trip that she swept up the litter, because I know they really kick it around the house. Very communicative & sent pics of them daily.”

“Lauren was very responsive and took many photos during her drop-in visit with my dog. It made me feel so much better knowing my dog was able to stretch his legs while I was away. Thank you so much!!”

“Chyanne was very attentive and went the extra mile to make sure my cat was occupied and taken care of while I was gone. She even left a card with treats and a toy. Would highly recommend!!!”

“Top tier Rover. Emily is always saving me in a tight spot and taking care of my kitty, Nyx, during my ultra last minute holiday plans or emergencies. She’s very communicative and follows pet care instructions to a T, she’s saved my ass twice in a bind and I have no complaints especially since my baby is fed and a little less lonely while I’m away. You’re in good hands if you choose Emily.”

“She was extremely kind and patient with the dogs! Our dog had a few accidents but she was super nice and understanding and cleaned it up for us! We would recommend her!”

“April was absolutely wonderful with our cat, Mable! We only asked her to stop by once a day, but she went above and beyond every single visit. She spent extra time with Mable, stayed to keep her company, and was so kind and attentive. She even surprised Mable with a few new toys to play with while we were away, which was such an incredibly thoughtful gesture that she absolutely didn’t have to do. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Mable was not only being cared for but genuinely loved while we were gone. We could tell April truly cares about the pets she watches, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate, and willing to go the extra mile. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Bowser was given wonderful care for a long day at Jordan's. Bowser can be a bit reactive, but Jordan assured that she had dealt with such and her manner when I dropped him off kept him relaxed. Apparently he complained for a bit and then settled right in, getting to know a small dog and cat. I was camping at the dunes and was able to spend a day in Chicago riding the South shore in from a station not far from Jordan's. I will definitely be doing this again it went so well!”

“Marshmallow had a WONDERFUL first experience at Nancy & Mark’s Day Care! Sooo wonderful she’s scheduled for future Day Care dates as well as an upcoming Boarding weekend. I couldn’t be happier to have found a place, close to home, where my sweet, but scared and anxious, rescue is FINALLY comfortable other than with me!! Due to past trauma, Marshmallow suffers from SEVERE separation anxiety and can be fearful around large dogs, thus the fact that there is always a person present as well as the laid back and comfortable environment provided by Nancy & Mark was ABSOLUTELY perfect to calm ALL Marshmallow and Mommy’s concerns!! I was sent pictures, a video and updates throughout her stay. We truly feel blessed to have found such a GREAT fit!!!”

About: Your sweeties are in caring hands 💛 ✅ Experience with pets of all ages & personalities. ✅ Work from home: Attentive to strict care plan. ✅ Happy to assist with training/manners 🐾. As a pet owner of 35 years and a life-long animal lover, I’ve cared for my own puppies, kittens, and elderly pets over the years. Their quirky personalities have brought nothing but joy to our home! I’ve also cared for exotic littles such as snakes, bearded dragons, hamsters, gerbils, chameleons, ferrets, parakeets, Sun Conure Parrots and farm animals (chickens, pigs, horses, “farm sitting”)! Don’t hesitate to ask if you need additional help. We have 2 dogs of our own: One loves to socialize and play with our guests, while the other usually searches for the sunniest window in the house, to nap until the next potty/treat break. Working from home allows me to be attentive to strict potty/medication and walk/play schedules (if your pet is in need of a regimented care plan). I offer drop-in play dates, walks, back-yard potty/play dates and feeding/litter changes, based upon your instruction. I’m also able to host your pets in my home, if you need a sitter. Before booking boarding services with new clients, I request a meet & greet, so that I can get to know everyone and have a clear understanding of your pet’s personality and needs 😁!
“It was a relief with all of our funeral planning taking place in Chicago, to know that Ms. Bernice was going to take care of Niko. This was his first time at any day care and it seems that this will help us as we work with him to socialize with other dogs. Overall, she was very cooperative, reliable and conveniently located to our hotel. We would use her services again.”

“Joy was absolutely wonderful with my dog! She provided a safe, fun, and caring environment, and it was clear how much she truly loves animals. My pup came home happy and relaxed. This was my first time using Rover and Joy. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and loving dog sitter! 🐾”

About: I enjoy having dogs, and started using this website when I went out of town. Because of this, I know the high standard of care I expect from my sitter, and what you should expect too. I will take the time and care you would for your own dog. I'll give them snuggles, playtime, and lots of outside time depending on the crazy weather we have here of course. Myself and my doggy friends love to take walks, play tug-of-war, fetch and other games your dog enjoys or might enjoy. If your dog comes to our house we have a fully enclosed backyard. It is a great big yard enough to play fetch with a few dogs at the same time. Some just like to sun bathe and watch everyone else run around. Your dogs will have so much fun, and will be well loved while they are here. When my doggie friends come back for a visit the owners tell me the dogs are excited when they turn down my street. I have a Yorkie named Jack, and 3 mini Bernedoodles named Elenor, Dahlia, and Franklin. I am not taking unneutered or unspayed dogs at this time. I have lots of available hours to spend with your pets. My schedule is consistent usually, but fairly open. In the past, I was walking dogs. Not sure if I am going to start doing that or not. I have a fenced in yard and 4 dogs to keep your dog company. We can play in the yard or hang out in the house. I have lots of toys and balls.
About: I've been surrounded by animals my whole life, and I wouldn't have it any other way. At home in Colombia, my house was full of paws: four cats, a shepherd dog, and a beagle before that. I've also pet sat for friends' dogs, including a Yorkie and a Cocker Spaniel. I have a special patience for puppies: the training, the energy, the chaos; I genuinely love it. And since I'm not working right now, your pet gets my full attention, all day long. No rushing home after a shift, just 100% focused, loving care. I live in Hyde Park, right in front of Harold Washington Park, and just minutes from Jackson Park, so long walks and outdoor playtime are always on the menu! I considered studying veterinary but realized I simply can't stand seeing animals suffer, which tells you everything about how much I care. My goal is simple: to make your pet feel as loved as mine do back home. Since I'm currently not working, pet care fits perfectly and naturally into my entire day. I wake up late morning, which means lazy morning cuddles are always on the table, perfect for cats or calm dogs who love a slow start to the day. From there, my day is completely flexible and centered around the pet's routine, whether that's feeding, litter care, playtime at home, or heading out for a walk to Harold Washington Park or Jackson Park, both just minutes from my place. I'm also available for overnight stays, so pets never have to spend the night alone or anxious in an unfamiliar space. At my home in Hyde Park: My apartment is a calm and loving space, no other pets, so your furry friend gets all the attention. I'm home all day, which means no long lonely hours. For cats, I make sure to provide a comfortable, stress-free environment, respecting their need for space and routine. For dogs, living right in front of Harold Washington Park and minutes from Jackson Park means fresh air and walks are always just steps away. I also offer overnight stays, so pets can settle in and feel truly at home. At your home: I understand that many pets, especially cats, feel most comfortable in their own space. When visiting your home, I follow your pet's established routine as closely as possible, feeding schedules, litter care, favorite toys, nap spots. I don't just stop by quickly, I stay long enough for real playtime and genuine connection. In both cases: I treat every pet like my own. Growing up with cats, dogs, and everything in between taught me to read animal behavior, respect their boundaries, and give them the kind of love and patience they deserve. And since my own two cats are waiting for me back in Colombia, I know exactly what it feels like to trust someone with the animals you love most. 🐾❤️
“April was such a fantastic sitter! She has years of experience and you can tell she cares for your pet! She was attentive to our Aussie’s special needs and we are thankful for her flexibility and her kindness.”

About: Got a cavalier when kids left 20 years ago and have been in love with and taken care of pups for family and friends ever since! I work part time as a sub at a local school lunchroom. Consequently, I have a good deal of time to do what I enjoy most, spending time with and caring for pups!! (and on occasion, cats!) I live in a lovely neighborhood with a nice balance of open space and paths for walks. My husband (also a dog lover) and I have a fenced yard and pup bowls and leashes and toys and even a small crate (from Harley) if your pup feels better taking a nap in it! (and he fits!)
About: I grew up in a multi pet home and learned to walk, train and groom pets from a young age. I cared for the last family dog through her medically tedious senior years. Through college I pet sat and walked for friends and family. For 2 years I worked for a veterinary clinic, although my job was marketing I often was asked to assist with holding and monitoring patients. When I became a pet owner I adopted puppies raising them through potty and crate training. I am proud to say they continue to be healthy and happy. Now we foster and pet sit dogs of all ages and sizes because of the dog friendly environment we’ve created at home. My success in pet lies with gaining the pets trust. I approach them slowly and go at their pace, sitting and waiting on the ground if necessary. I am pet sitting and walking full time so I have plenty of time to dedicate to my clients! Dogs are typically walked and out between 7am and 9pm. I have a fully fenced yard with ample room for running and playing. There are four resident dogs who are friendly and used to guests. We can crate your pup or have them sleep in a bed or in bed with me. Water is available at all times through a 2 gallon water dispenser.
“I would recommend Kassia to anyone looking for a reliable, professional dog sitter. She was communicative, met with us a couple of days before the actual sit, and accommodated our early 6 a.m. drop-off that we needed (which happened to be on Daylight Savings as well). Moreover, our dog was excited when we dropped him off (always a good sign to us), and was tired when we got home.”

About: I have had pets for 40 years and taken care of others' pets for 30 years. I am a reliable, peppy, retired teacher and counselor. Currently I have open availability. I am retired and want to build my pet/home sitting business. I welcome any and all requests for pet or home sitting as I build my business. I do not have any pets of my own. I lost my precious kitty last year and am not ready to add a new pet to my home. I do however have 3 grand kitties and 3 granddogs that I take care of and walk. As a caregiver to your pet I can provide focused attention to your pet. I do not have a fenced yard but am ready, willing and able to provide excellent walks for your pet.
About: My husband and I have been dog owners for many years. We recently lost our Yorkie, Sage, at age 12 to cancer. We decided to not get another dog at this time, but would love to be a pet sitter for your precious pup. Both my husband and I are retired and have regular availability. One of us is home at most times. We would require to meet your pup before the stay to ensure good compatibility. We would walk your dog on a leash. Our yard is large, but not fenced. Easy access for potty breaks. We will have open access to our home unless crating is your preference.
About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and love all breeds. We truly don’t deserve them. My soul dog, Abo, passed away 1.5 years ago and I have been watching and walking dogs for extra money ever since. I’m a college professor working a very flexible schedule and I’d love to walk or watch your dog! I live on the east side of Beverly Shores and also have a place in the city 🌆. I’m down to house sit or watch them at my place. I have local references and would love to meet your dog if I haven’t already 😊 I’m teaching part-time this term, so I have plenty of time to walk your dogs, give them some love, tell them they are good dogs, get some fresh air, exercise and sunshine. ☀️ When I board a dog it is all about them! They are basically on vacation having the best time and getting all the attention and affection they want. 🙂

““Megan was fantastic! She was very polite, knowledgeable about dogs, and really listened to all my needs and concerns. We truly appreciated her punctuality—it made my surgery week a bit easier and less stressful.””

“My dog and I were very happy with the care Julie provided. She walked my dog in the rain while I was at work, and I really appreciated her reliability. I was worried the weather might cause her to cancel, but she still showed up and took great care of my dog. Julie is professional, communicative, and clearly loves animals. We look forward to booking with her again. 😊”

About: I have had extensive experience within the environment of animal care. I have been involved in places that include animal shelters and even animal hospitals, and strive to put forth my best care that involves your fur babies! Afternoons/evenings work best for my schedule, but I can always work around yours to fit your needs the best! Right now, my schedule is very flexible! Even though I do not offer the option of boarding, I will strive to make your pet's safety my number one priority when I am walking them!
About: I’m new to Rover, but a lifelong dog lover. My first best friend was a yellow Lab named Candy, who slept at the foot of my bed every night. Today, I share my life with two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers who are truly my fur babies. I’m a mom to two teenage daughters and a small business owner in Chesterton. I’m very active and regularly take my own dogs on long walks and runs at Coffee Creek, so I’m happy to walk, jog, or play with your pup—or stop by for cuddles and treats while you’re at work. I’ve volunteered with animal shelters over the years and am pet CPR certified, so your dog will always be in caring, capable hands! Im a small business owner that is primarily weekend based, this leaves me a flexible weekday schedule that allows me to give your pets reliable exercise and attentive care and on a regular basis if needed. I am happy to check in with your dogs or cats, feed, cuddle and give them anything needed during a visit. I’m responsible and mature.
“Sharon was so amazing with Billie. A true dog whisperer. Billie has never had a dog walker come into the house before and turns out she is quite the guard dog. Sharon had met her at a meet & greet but Billie was scared when she came back alone. But Sharon charmed her with some treats and skritches and her sweet demeanor with animals, and now, after a couple of walks, they are besties. We appreciate Sharon’s extraordinary talent with animals. Her persistence and kindness won over our nervous furbaby and allowed us to be with family during a difficult time. We have already rebooked Sharon and Billie hopes this will be a long-term friendship!”

“Alexis was absolutely fantastic taking care of my baby Luna! Luna is only 6 months old, has a lot of energy, is not fully trained and I'm sure was a handful for someone to walk in day-one and manage, But she did above and beyond. She brought toys and puzzles, made sure Luna was fed and properly walked. She updated me on how the walks went, when she arrived and left, told me about the other dogs Luna got to meet along the walks and seemed totally joyful and sincere about spending time with my sweet girl. I will be hiring Alexis over and over in the future!”

If said pet is undergoing training of any sort, I'm willing to make sure that training is implemented throughout the visit, walk, or stay. I absolutely love giving furbabies my attention and love, but will go at the pets pace. I won't force my affections on an anxious animal.

I am a server at Dante’s house of pizza. Even with my busy work schedule I still have plenty of time to take my own dog to the park, walk him, and play with him. I want to share my love by taking care of other peoples animals. I can ensure them that their furry friends will be safe in my care. My dog’s name is Gino and he loves being outdoors whenever we can be. He loves going on walks with other dogs. He is really happy when I take him to my friend’s house to play with their dogs. My dog is very spoiled and gets to snuggle up with me in bed. I am responsible to take him to the vet when he needs his yearly check up. I make sure he is well groomed and well fed.
About: Depending on the needs of your animals, I can come over how many times you need me to and take care of them! This even includes staying overnight if it is what your animal needs! As of right now I am currently unemployed, taking 1 online college course, allowing me to have flexibility to care for your precious animals all throughout the day! Animals are always most comfortable in their home environments and for this reason, pet care in a place where they are used to is best. I do require meet and greets before I take care of your animal, just so you know they are in safe and trusted hands!

“MacKenzie was great with Roadie! He had so much fun playing with and meeting new friends. I can tell he was well taken care of. MacKenzie kept me updated on his stay and was very good with communication. She even sent me beautiful pictures to remember his awesome experience!”

“I can't imagine a better person to leave our Parker Boy with! Heather took the best care of our dog and sent pictures and videos to keep our minds at ease while we were apart from him. She made him feel like a part of the family and made sure to do whatever she could to make him comfortable. We would recommend Heather to anyone looking for a sitter for their furry friends!!”

“Arianna is an excellent dog sitter!! She took great care of my Izzy. My Izzy is a shy and nervous girl and Arianna made sure to keep her calm and comfortable. Arianna also gave frequent updates and pictures. I would highly recommend letting Arianna watch your dog. She is great !!!”
“Bola took great care of my pup child. Rhea received lots of love and was definitely spoiled. (I can tell) lol Bola was responsive and sent updates and videos of Rhea. Rhea really likes Bryce and I hope they become long-term pup friends. I would definitely book again without giving it a second thought.”

“Amazing dog sitter! Our pooch was so happy when we picked her up, and David sent plenty of photos and updates and was readily accessible to contact - will definitely be using again, I highly recommend!”

“Excellent. Gave us a ton of picture, more than any other sitter we’ve had on rover. And due to issues at airport I was an hour late picking her up, and she was totally accommodating. Highly recommended!”

“Daryl boarded our dog from the 23rd through the 24th and she was amazing! Our dog is, for the most part, very high maintenance and craves personalized attention and that is what he got for two days being with Daryl. We had looked at other boarders, ones with other dogs, ones with various other animal types, kids etc... and just watching Chief interact with Daryl was incredible. He immediately took to her and to the environment, was playing, jumping and even napping almost right away. We were sent photos consistently while we were away and just seeing him happy and playful and even how tired he was was a wonderful sight. We would definitely recommend anyone who is looking to have their dog boarded to consider Daryl, especially if they require more personal attention. She did great!!”
