About: I grew up around cats, and in my adulthood have had cats of my own. They are easily one of my favorite parts of life. People tend to label cats as low maintenance, which can be true, but I know no one cat is the same! Some need lots of affection, play, alone time, or even cardboard boxes to hide in! About: I’ve dog-sat since I was 7 for neighbors and grandparents, and I’ve had dogs my whole life. I truly love animals, especially dogs, with my whole heart. I’ve fostered 9‑week‑old golden retriever puppies until they were adopted. When I moved to Boise for college, one of the hardest parts was not having my dog with me every day, caring for dogs has always been a huge part of my life so I am excited to spend time with your dog! I just graduated from Boise State, so my schedule is very open right now! I have plenty of time to check in on dogs, take them for walks, and spend quality time with them. I live in an apartment with a small balcony and direct access to the greenbelt, which makes on-leash walks very easy! About: I have been taking care of family/friend pets through the entirety of high school and afterwards. I have worked with a positive feedback trainer with my dog and have been able to apply those teachings to other behaviors in animals. I also know how to handle medications for dogs, from pills, intestine liquids, and topical creams. I absolutely adore big dogs and will totally let them be lap dogs. I love little dogs, even if they try to be ferocious creatures. I work a part-time job and am focusing most of my free time to medical concerns. I traditionally work in the early morning, 6-12. This leaves my afternoons free for the pets, but I can figure out how to care for them in the morning if necessary. Beyond that, I want to maintain active with the animals, playing, cuddling and taking for walks. I have 3 dogs of varying sizes (8, 25, & 100). They have different diets and activity levels, but all maintain their appropriate body weight. We have a fenced backyard for them to roam around in. The big dog is an anxious creature so he gets put in the crate when everyone leaves the house. I specifically worked with him on it and he has done wonderfully with positive reinforcement. I am able to transfer this knowledge to other animals, it might just take a few tries. Access to treats might help 😋. For walks, I can handle dogs big dogs and the ones that pull pretty well. I refuse to use choke chains and shock collars. If they are wearing one, I would like (with your permission) to switch it for a regular collar during the time of my stay.
About: Hello! We are looking to help people out in our free time with pet care. Please note we can only accept small dogs who are good with cats for day care/boarding at this time. Please let us know a few times you are available for a meet and greet before hand to ensure it is a good fit! “Elise was so wonderful with our 3 year old Irish doodle and our 5 month old toy schnauzer puppy! It was our first time boarding them with anyone who isn’t family, and we weren’t sure how they’d do. I’m sure we were more concerned than we needed to be, but she was so great communicating with us beforehand and reassuring us. She was so sweet with them when they met her, and we weren’t surprised at all that they warmed up to her so quickly. We could tell that she really cares, and it gave us so much peace of mind while we were gone for over a week. When we went to pick our pups up at the end of our trip, they were healthy and happy, and we were so appreciative of all her efforts.
