“Katrina was amazing! She sent so many updates. She treated our dog like family. He had so much fun playing with the other dogs visiting and was very worn out when he got home! Very trustworthy and great communication! Will definitely book again.”

“Angela was absolutely amazing! I decided to book my crazy Labrador puppy Haven and Angela really helped me out with picking her up and dropping her off for me. I really loved that she was loved by everybody in the house! I loved seeing the updates of Haven and her kids playing together it was adorable! Angela sends you lots updates and treats your pets just like her own. I will be using her again and will recommend her to everyone that seeks somewhere to board their dogs :)”

“Amanda spoiled our dog all weekend! Played catch and cuddled and let him take a nap in her lap (he's almost 100 lbs so that was above and beyond the call of duty)! Another plus is there were 4-5 large dogs for Osborne to play with in Amanda's fenced in backyard so he came home happily exhausted. Amanda was extremely flexible in drop off/pick up times which was greatly appreciated as we were heading out of town for the weekend. She also carefully monitored his food so he only ate his food and didn't sneak other dog food and get an upset stomach. Highly recommend Amanda!”

“Melanie was amazing with my 2 dogs! She updated me everyday with pictures and their day in her home. My dogs seemed VERY happy and relaxed. I definitely will be booking her again when my job calls me to be out of state. It's such a relief to know that your precious kids are in good hands!”

“We love Erin, Chris, and their family! They treat our dog, Bailey like their own. They are super easy to work with and I love knowing that Bailey is in a loving home while we are gone.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Kayla! She responds quickly and is so easy to work with. She watched my dog in her home and made leaving my pup so easy and I came home to a calm, stress-free dog. She kept in touch and sent pictures to reassure me they were doing great. Best of all, my dog loved her!! Thanks Kayla!”

“Cynthia was so easy to work with and was flexible to do a last minute booking. They were so sweet and have a great environment for out. My pup left happy, we will definitely be back!”

“Amy and Casey took very attentive care of our mini Aussie, Lily, while we were gone for 5 nights. I am an anxious dog parent and Lily was a bit anxious, too, for the first couple days, but Amy sent me daily updates and pictures and was genuinely concerned/caring for Lily's welfare. Lily had a fun time with their family and their dog Duke (after she warmed up to all of them.) We highly recommend Amy and Casey and their family and will be calling them again when we need lodging for Lily!”

“This is our first Rover booking and we couldn't be happier. Brooke did an excellent job of making sure our "new to us" rescue dog had a good experience. Amee got to read stories at bedtime and take walks with the family. She'll be back for more fun.”

“They always take such great care of our Daisy. She is always so happy and comfortable in their home and it’s so nice to know she is safe and so well cared for when we have to leave her. They let their home become her home when she stays and she loves all the play and attention she gets! Wonderful people!”

“Alivia was an amazing sitter for Ares! She was incredibly attentive and made sure he had everything he needed while I was away. She sent regular updates and photos, which kept me completely in the loop and gave me peace of mind knowing he was in great hands. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after, and I could tell Ares was comfortable and well cared for the entire time. I would absolutely trust Alivia to watch him again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful sitter!”

“Colonel had another stay with Kimberlee and Mitchell. As soon as we arrived, Colonel could not wait to start playing with their dog. Kimberly sent me updates each day which gave me peace of mind that everything was going well. We will be using them again and we highly recommend!”

“Our dog Luci had a great experience staying with Alysha and her family. They welcomed her in and made her feel at home right away. Communication was great with pictures and comments each day of the stay. Definitely recommend Alysha and would book again with her.”

“Great sitter. It was a GR party of 3! My dog was worn out, happy and well taken care of. Daily updates with a picture was sent. Thx for your care! Would recommend and use Kayla again.”

“We absolutely loved having our Weimaraner, Hollis stay with Jacquelyn and her family! We felt so comfortable leaving her and Hollis enjoyed her time with them as well! There was never a doubt that she was safe and in excellent hands with them. We will definitely be rebooking with Jacquelyn every time we need to leave our Hollis.”

“Jessica did an excellent job with little B and he came home happy and healthy. He can’t settle down without his dog bed, so we were glad we could leave it with him. We also brought his food and water bowl. Jessica was professional, competent, and caring. Five star rating, for sure! We will definitely use her again.”

“Sarah did a great job keeping me to date on my cats and I could tell they were very well cared for during her check-ins. I really enjoyed the pictures of them, too! Thank you, Sarah!”
About: Always grew up with dogs, have a medium size dog myself who loves meeting and playing with new pets. Available primary on weekends for more extensive attention, but am open to weekday walks or sitting. Love adventures to dog parks permitting good weather and owner permission. Abundance of treats and play time. Feel like my living area has a high demand for sitters, but not enough open spots so I’m wishing to dig in myself, see if there is a need. Live on busy road/sidewalks on unfenced property, so I will require dogs be leashed when outside. Must be UTD on rabies, heart guard, and flea/tick medicines. Thank you in advance. Open to meet and greets prior to scheduled visits/stays. Open to updates/photos based on owner’s preferences.
“Jaron did a great job taking care of our kitties while we were away. He showed up on time and provided great updates for what he saw of them and how they were doing. They are not too fond of other people but our most shy cat even came out to greet him both times! Jaron was also able to stop by and meet our cats before hand to make sure everything went smoothly. I will definitely be using Jaron again for my next vacation!”

About: Back in middle school and high school I up I used to watch and walk family friends dogs. I have experience in giving medication to animals. I’m moving back in with my parents for a few months. I don’t have a part time job or anything so I have a lot of free time on my hands. I provide care for dogs in the client’s home, including feeding, fresh water, exercise, companionship, and following any specific care instructions. I also offer dog walking to help keep pets active, happy, and on their regular routine.
“Allyson was a wonderful caregiver for my Sunny boy. She sent pictures every day and seemed to capture every mood of his. She is a polite young woman who cares about animals and it shows. My Sunny warmed up to her and let her pet him. I would recommend Allyson if you’re looking for someone to take care of your fur babies while you’re away. I have complete confidence in her and would use her again. 😽👍👍”

“Our elderly cat appreciates the play time and care Adrianne gives to her when we're away for the weekend. Our cats mood is much better when we return home when we have Adrianne check on her while we're gone. We appreciate how Adrianne gives Zoey attention.”

About: I have my own 3 cats that I love more than anything. I've had them all since they were kittens so I've personally cared for cats since they were 5 weeks old. The oldest cat I've cared for was 13 and I know that the thing senior cats need most is love and comfort for their retirement. I've been taking care of cats for the longest. Mostly doing house sitting and dropping in to play and feed the cats. This can include giving medication, grooming the cat, cleaning the litter box, etc.

About: I’ve had cats my whole life I currently have 6 of my own! All very different personalities and energy levels so I understand every cat is different! I work at a dog lodging facility and I am a manager so I have administered meds to pets pills, eye drops, insulin, and liquid medicine as well as paw/nose or private parts wipes/balms! I’ve never met a cat that I didn’t like or that didn’t like me!

About: I have experience caring for cats with different personalities, routines, and needs, and I understand the importance of keeping them comfortable in their own environment. I’m patient, reliable, and attentive to details like feeding schedules, litter box care, playtime, and giving cats space when they need it. My goal is to make every cat feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for while their owner is away.
About: I have had animals in my home since I was a child. I got my own puppy about 10 years ago and trained him to be a guard dog during my time as a missionary in west Africa. I love animals and treat them like family. I currently work remotely from home, so I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule when I’m not traveling. I am very attentive to the animals in my care! I currently don’t live in a home that allows pets, but I have had a lot of experience taking care of people’s pets and homes while they have been away.

About: I’ve grown up around animals my whole life and currently have four cats that I’ve cared for for the past four years. Growing up, my family always had dogs ranging from small to large breeds, so I’m comfortable with all sizes and personalities. I’ve also helped care for family members’ dogs over the years, including feeding, walks, playtime, and making sure they feel comfortable while their owners are away. I’m reliable, patient, and truly enjoy being around animals. I always try to make pets feel safe, loved, and cared for just like they would at home.

I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family members! I’m currently working a hybrid schedule and am home 2-3 days during the week. “Samantha is so great to work with! She follows directions perfectly and takes excellent care of all the (3) dogs we’ve had her sit for (doggie day care). She communicates effectively and timely and we never have to worry.”

“Angela is great! We have had our puppy at her house for Daycare the past two days and he loves it! He was so excited to be dropped off this morning and was one tired puppy after a fun filled day playing with the other Puppies! Angela was very kind/welcoming and made sure to confirm our visit the day before which we really appreciated. She is great at keeping us posted during the day with texts and photos of our 2 month old puppy (we feel very at ease knowing he is in great care and getting to play with other dogs is a huge bonus!) We Definitely recommend Angela and we will definitely be booking with her again!”
“This was our second time using Rover, and we were initially nervous about leaving our two dogs with someone new. However, Beth quickly put us at ease, making us feel comfortable about her taking care of our pets for the day. She did a great job, and we would happily have her watch them again.”

“This was an amazing experience! I needed to make a trip to Ankeny and couldn’t leave my dog home for that long of a time so I hopped on this app and found her, so glad I did! He was a little scared at first but shortly made himself at home. Good communication and she sent photos! Made me feel good 💕I will be contacting Meagan again!”

“Cynthia did a fantastic job of taking care of our dog. She sent updates and even video of our dog playing outside and looking very happy. We will definitely use her services again. Thank you for taking such good care of Golde!”

“They are so lovely! A massive yard for Ace to run in which he definitely needed. Her dogs are so friendly and playful. Her children are also very helpful and respectful in asking if they can give my dog one of their dog toys. Will definitely be coming back!”

About: I’ve taken care of fur babies of all kinds since before I could walk. I grew up with a dog and cat always in tow. I lived in the country, so learned fast that the world can be hard for an animal, thus beginning my rehab ‘career’. As I got older, I pet sat for neighbors and family friends. In my mid 20s I trained as a vet tech, prepping animals for surgery, giving vaccinations, nail trims, etc. Until the ISU Wildlife Clinic closed, I volunteered there, learning more care for wild native animals. I’ve had dogs and cats my entire life, I can’t imagine life without animals. I currently have a senior border collie named Lola, she has arthritis so sometimes she needs help getting around and I’m always willing to help my girl. I also have a senior cat. Currently I’m a doordash/grub hub driver, so I literally am free 24/7 to care for your pets! I will prioritize Rover over delivery, so I can work with any schedule you need. I’m available for repeat needs (several walks a week, drop ins, etc). I live in a duplex with a yard. For me to board a pet, they would need to get along with my dog, and she can honestly be a bit grumpy meeting new dogs, so I feel going to the client’s home would be best. I will respect your home and follow whatever instructions you have for the care of your pets.
About: I will care for your pet by meeting their physical and emotional needs. We will play, exercise, relax and have an all around great time. I will follow all of your directions as well as send pictures and videos. I will always be available by text. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to spend time having fun with other's pet(s). I can tend to pets any time of the day. Safety is my number one priority. I respect moms/dads needs and wants for their pet(s). I love to play and have fun. I will send pictures and videos. I will always be available for calls.
“Jen was amazing!! She accepted our last minute request and was super flexible! She took great care of our senior pup with special needs. He had a great time and was happy and worn out at pick up!!”

“I was visiting town for a work trip and was beyond impressed by the care and communication! My pup Barley is older and just had surgery - it was so wonderful leaving him without worry, knowing he would be extra loved and cared after during the day!”

“Thank you so much for watching Grover. Nothing is better than bringing home a tired and cuddly puppy. I enjoyed talking with you both and I have to admit I had a little bit of a teary moment on my way home. The environment of your backyard with friends and family as well as just your welcoming energy reminded me so much of what it was like when my Uncle Ryan was still around. He passed unexpectedly in 2016, leaving behind my Aunt Krista and their two young girls, Claire was 7 and Hannah was 5. My aunt and uncle loved each other so deeply and enjoyed hosting family and friends regularly. I am extremely grateful that you reminded me of those memories I had forgotten about. Please continue to have people over and share these moments with each other! So again, thank you for proving a loving home for my puppy to stay while also bringing back some wonderful memories for me, even though it was unknowingly. Grover and I will 100% be back to visit again!”

“I was visiting town for a work trip and was beyond impressed by the care and communication! My pup Barley is older and just had surgery - it was so wonderful leaving him without worry, knowing he would be extra loved and cared after during the day!”

About: Hello! I’m a full-time high school teacher who loves animals… but my own dog passed away last year and for some reason I’m just not ready to get a new one. But I love dogs!! So, in the meantime, I am getting my pet love by dog-sitting. I mostly set this up to do over the summer when I was off work and super flexible, but I’ve decided to keep doing it some—with an emphasis on weekends and public holidays when I’m not at work :) I can do some weekdays, but we’d need to chat about it first. I have gotten a lot of satisfaction and enjoyment out of this so far (which is truly why I’m doing this) and plan to continue this until that stops (or until I decide to adopt a new furry friend who might need most of my attention). I grew up with dogs and have had a variety of breeds, shapes, sizes over the decades. I dog-sat during college and during grad school for friends, professors, and a few strangers I connected with on an older website (I feel like it was called care-dot-com for anyone who’s old enough to remember that). As someone who is a “bit” older, I’m reliable and have very little social life!! Perfect for you and your pet! I’m also super motivated to make your dog as happy as I can! I miss that aspect of having a pet—you take care of them and they keep you sane in this crazy world. Update: During the school year, I’m most available on weekends but can of course provide care in the afternoon and evening on a school/week day… just not as much as I can on a weekend or holiday :) I have a wire fenced yard (not a privacy fence). It’s not the biggest but I’ve also had a smaller yard! There are neighboring dogs, as well, so keep that in mind. As mentioned, no dog at the moment. I’m very careful with dogs in terms of behavior. I was raised to understand that the person is responsible for the dog’s behavior. This means paying attention, shortening the lead when needed, helping the dog feel secure, crossing the street, etc.
“Kimberlee is AWESOME!! Her and her son gave my pup all the lovins all day and she gave me updates throughout the day! She is very attentive and has a huge passion/love for dogs. I highly recommend her!!!”

“Katrina and both of her kids were wonderful with my dog, Ella. She had so much fun playing with their dogs. Ella played so hard yesterday that she slept until 9:00 the next morning. She usually gets up around 6:00! This is our first time with Katrina, although I have known her for a few years. We will FOR SURE be booking with her again. She is the BEST!!”

About: I have personally had a pet or 3 since I was 13 years old. I begged for a cat for years and once I got one, I never have been without at least one pet. I have been volunteering with the ARL since 2005. I have had 30+ foster dogs through them as well. I just love animals. I do have weekends blocked but just ask about availability! I am retired. I enjoy going for walks with dogs and depending on the dog spending time outside in my fenced in backyard. I have a 6 foot fence. Your dog will have the ability to be part of our family and our family pets are on our furniture. We do separate our home animals, fosters and house guests at night. The "regulars" get to sleep in our beds while our guests get other accommodations. It makes for better harmony for us. Because we foster on a regular basis our animals are very used to different dogs coming into our home. Our home is pretty quiet and relaxing.

“This was the first time my dogs have gone over to her house and they loved it!! They loved hanging out with her dog and just being able to be around someone all day! She was very sweet and attentive to their needs!”

About: I've been pet-sitting around my neighborhood since I was 10, and grown up alongside dogs, cats, small rodents, and reptiles. I'm far from squeamish, and I love all creatures, even if they are grumpy, irritable, or messy. I volunteer at the ARL in Ankeny! I'm currently in school, but because I'm not taking a full schedule of classes, I can be around your pets multiple times over the school week every day. I have my own car, so I'm able to get where I need to easily. I don't do sports, so I'm free almost every day of the week, save for the occasional band event. My dog is a friendly older dog who is far from aggressive. She lives to sleep and sit in the sun, and is unbothered by even the most hyper of puppies. I do not have a fenced yard, but I love to walk pets, and will walk them in the morning, at night, or whenever they need it. I also have two cats who have mastered the art of avoiding new dogs when they are over. I can be high energy or low energy depending on what a dog needs, and love to stick to a schedule. The longer and more detailed the instructions, the better!
About: I have been dog sitting for my friends and family for years. I work from home 2 days a week and have a large fenced in backyard. I have a 3 bedroom house located a few block from a bike/walking trail. I would like a dog of my own but my schedule doesn’t allow for that so cuddling and spending time with your dog would be perfect. Your dog will have access to my furniture while I am home. I can maintain a set schedule and provide your dog with love and care while you are away. I currently work full time from my home. Your pet would be in a kennel very minimal and have lots of attention. Would just be in a kennel if I need to run errands. I have a large fenced in backyard that your pet will love to run free in. The fence was replaced summer of 2021 after the derecho. I work a hybrid schedule 3 days in an office 2 days at home. My boyfriend is home every Friday, he does not work Fridays. I have a large privacy fenced in yard for your dog to play in. I can kennel or crate your dog at your preference. I have a lock on the inside of my front door incase a dog jumps and opens the door.
About: I've been dropping in to aid family and friends with their dogs, cats, and other pets since I was in high school, and have been online doing general pet services for the last 3 or so years now. I myself have 3 cats and a snake. I have experience with giving cats eye medication, oral pills, medication mixed with treats/food, and creams. For dogs I've given creams and medication mixed with food/treats. I'm currently doing freelance work so my schedule is pretty flexible. Other than my own pet's schedule, I'm happy to find time for your pet's needs. I always make sure to check in with my clients to ensure they feel comfortable with me in their house. Things like where they're comfortable with me going and doing, where the pet(s) are allow to be, any routines that need to be done, and anything else they'd like to precaution or worry about.

“This is the second time Karly has been our walker for Bella. The first time was a 5 week hire while we were out of town. The second time was a short notice two day walker stint. Always punctual through both terms, and always caring. We felt very comfortable knowing Karly was watching our Senior Labrador Bella. Bella loved it too!”

About: As a dog mama myself, I understand that our dogs are more than just our pets. They’re an integral part of our family! I strive to provide them with the necessary care they need, but also the enrichment they need to thrive and live a happy life. I love to play with them, take them out for walks, and provide them with love and pets. It’s important to me that they are not just physically cared for, but they are mentally stimulated through play and emotionally cared for at every visit. I'm always mindful that all pets should be greeted with a slow introduction, that does not come off as intrusive, or threatening. Even the most social pets, can behave differently when an unfamiliar person enters their home while family is not present. I always take that into consideration upon each visit, as I get to know your dog/cat, and build a trusting relationship. Whether your pet goes out on a leash, uses a fenced in yard, or requires potty pads to go to the bathroom, I'll follow your instructions as discussed through the Rover app, or during our initial "meet and greet". Requested information about your pet -Medication schedule -Behavioral issues that may affect walking your pet on public sidewalks, history of biting or aggression while being fed. -Ongoing medical conditions -Vet number and/or emergency contact I currently work on a hybrid schedule - 3 days in West Des Moines and 2 days at home in Ankeny. I have a flexible schedule where I can pop around to your pet when needed. I have a heart for animals along with the patience needed to give quality pet care. Your pet will always come first and I would treat them as if they are my own.
About: I have owned a dog since I was 7, along with helped local families by watching their dogs while on vacation. Along with during college, helping a breeder with her pups and personal dogs ranging from 1 day old to 12 years old. I am currently working an internship 3 days a week. I am completely free on my days off with just trips to the gym and local coffee shops. I am willing to spends time playing with dogs and going for walks on my days off due to having an open schedule. I am comfortable coming to other houses to make sure their dogs stay less stressed and feel for comfortable in their surroundings. I take them for walks in the neighborhood on leashes.

“Katrina was amazing! She sent so many updates. She treated our dog like family. He had so much fun playing with the other dogs visiting and was very worn out when he got home! Very trustworthy and great communication! Will definitely book again.”

“Jessica took care of my dog Iommi for a long weekend while I traveled out of state for my brother's wedding. It was my first time leaving Iommi and Jessica was the perfect person to leave her with. I was admittedly anxious about leaving Iommi for the first time, but as soon as I arrived the morning of drop-off Jessica made me feel 100% at ease. She took care of Iommi like she was her own and I know Iommi had a great time staying with Jessica and her family and playing with her dog Rip. I highly recommend Jessica to anyone looking for care for their pet! I will definitely be booking with Jessica again!”

“Colleen was great and Peppa loved her! She kept in touch with pictures and video and took Peppa for rides and walks and snuggled with her when fireworks were going off for the 4th of July. She is super kind and thoughtful and also has a fenced in yard, which Peppa loved. We loved Colleen’s vibe and wish she would be our personal dog sitter. Peppa is probably thinking she wants to go back and that she had a fun vacation and a welcome break from us. 😛”
