Randi walked me through the entire process. She wanted to know all about them before they arrived, what they liked, what they disliked, what they liked to do, eat, etc. She genuinely cared about them as if they were her own. She had a ton of space for them to run around and play in, and even let them sleep with her!! She is very friendly, easy going, and a natural doggy lover. About: I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and have an awesome 5 year old cattahoula mix who loves to make friends! We live at the back of Iao Valley, right next to the stream and have a beautiful fenced in half acre for the dogs to run around on. I work from home so will be w pup all day! They have free range to be inside or outside whenever they want. Lots of attention and love. I have a huge fenced in yard. Dogs have their own door that is always open for them to come in and out. About: Hi! I’m Rae! Ever since my dad handed me my first Boston Terrier when I was a little girl, my heart has belonged to the animals. I was lucky enough to grow up in a household with pets, and as an adult I couldn’t imagine not having pets. I also recognize that even though we wish we could take our furbabies everywhere, it’s just not a reality for a lot of us. So, I’m happy to be able to ease the worry of wanting or needing to travel, work, etc by offering to take care of your babies while you’re away. I’ve also traveled to help take care of pets while they’re pawrents were away, tending to both their pets and home. Currently I have a lot of open availability. I prefer to be able to come to your house as I have two pups and three kitties in my home, and I know a pet is usually more comfortable in their own environment. My dog has been suffering with short term separation anxiety and having their home available to dogsit and board has been so so helpful. The property has plenty of space for the pups to roam around, and they have even sent photos and videos of how my dog has responded to being left with them. When I come to collect him he always wants to stay and is always exhausted when he gets home because he has had so much fun during his day. About: Aloha! I’ve grown up with pets all my life and I enjoy the joy they bring to my life. I had a pet of my own that I cared for for 15 years. I have a backyard and I am home throughout the entire day. I care for a friend’s dog often, and I like to give the pup the option of indoor or outdoor so that they can walk in and out at their own convenience. I am currently retired so I am regularly home and usually available every day. I typically stay at home throughout the day, so you can rely on me to keep your pet company and cared for! About: From puppies to seniors, we've cared for and loved them all. Jack Russels, Chihuahuas and all the mixes. We at one time had 3 little ones in our lives cause we couldn't watch the one sweet chihuahua that belonged to our friend go back to the pound when he didn't quite fit in well with their kids. We took him home to find him a home and we sure did! 13 years of his little life wasn't enough time. Love fostering with Maui Humane when we can, hard to say goodbye but worth it to make their life just a little better for a bit. I work part time from home so I'm usually around to play or snuggle with your pup. We are mostly home bodies so even on the weekend your pup won't be lonely. We have a friendly (for a chihuahua lol) 4 year old Chihuahua that is always looking for playmates! We have an outside space where they can run that energy off too and live close to the beach! So if the paw parents approve we're happy to enjoy nightly sunsets or early morning beach walks while it's not too hot. During the day they can lounge or play in the house or choose to lay in the sun on our fenced front lanai. Special diets don't intimidate me. Ours is a picky eater so I understand the need to mix up the meals every once in a while.
About: I’ve been a dog lover since my first puppy, Zeus. I had him and grew up with him for ten years of my life and now I am blessed with another puppy, Koda. I’ve always had a soft spot for dogs and show the most attentive care for them. Especially because my Koda has seizures, I’m always home and around. And our loving little town has an amazing dog park for outdoor time. Everyday, koda and I begin our morning with a walk then breakfast. I am always home so he’s glued to my side during the day. Kira has separation anxiety, and I was really worried about how she'd handle being away from me, but they were so understanding, supportive, and flexible. What my dog needs most is a steady, compassionate presence, and that is exactly what they provided. Not long after I dropped my dog off, Michele reached out to let me know that my dog was content, getting along well with her dog, and exploring her new surroundings. That early check-in brought me such a sense of relief. Later, she sent me a photo of my dog resting peacefully in her garden while she gardened nearby, which spoke volumes about how safe and settled my dog felt. Michele was incredibly patient, kind, and genuinely present. She snuggled with my dog on the couch, included her in daily activities (like “helping” in the garden), and it was sweet that she seemed to enjoy my dog’s company. That matters to me more than I can easily express. Having a dog with extra needs can come with a lot of worry about being a burden, and it was sweet to sense that it wasn’t that at all for them. It was also deeply reassuring that they have an older dog themselves. Michele truly understands the rhythms, sensitivities, and nervous systems of senior and special-needs dogs. When I picked my dog up, she was happy to see me and tired in the best way—but most importantly, she was calm and regulated. This tells me everything about the quality of care she received. This kind of support is immensely valuable. I would absolutely recommend Michele and Brian, especially to anyone with an older, anxious, or special-needs dog who needs more than basic sitting. Finding someone like this feels rare, and I would trust them with my dog again without hesitation.”
About: I have extensive experience in dog training and care as my Dad’s business was in rehabilitation, training and boarding for dogs. I worked as an employee for 5 years and also had opportunities to help train and care for the dogs from 12 years old. I love learning more every time I interact with a new dog. I am skilled at training dogs to get over leash aggression and constant pulling. I have worked with many different breeds of dogs and have learned a lot about how this can alter their specific needs. About: I grew up with a dog and have watched many different types of dogs since I was a teenager. I routinely walk and feed my roommates dogs when they are at work. Walking dogs is a great way for me to get daily exercise too. I’m only working part time so I am available throughout the week and have a very flexible schedule right now. Especially in the afternoon and at night There is a fenced in backyard the dog can play in. There are also two other friendly dogs in the downstairs unit who love to play. We have one small dog of our own, a 10 year old Shiba Inu, who is very chill and gets along great with other dogs! Both my husband and I have had dogs our entire lives and have plenty of experience caring for them. My husband is known in our family as the “dog whisperer.” We have family on the mainland and travel back a couple of times a year, so we understand how important it is to find someone you trust to care for your pets while you’re away. Whether you need daily drop-in visits or boarding while you’re off island, your pets will be treated like part of our family and will be in loving hands. I’m currently a stay-at-home mom with a flexible schedule. We’re an active family and would love to include your dog in our daily outings when appropriate. We live in Kihei near a dog park and the beach and spend plenty of time outdoors. Because we have two young children and a small dog in our home, boarding is best suited for dogs that are friendly and comfortable around both children and other dogs. We’re also more than happy to provide drop-in visits! My partner can often times let your pet out to potty on my long work days. Usually just Wednesdays are 12 hr shifts. I like to keep the pets routines as close to what they are use to as possible. Playing with, exercising, feeding and even doing some training are all things I like to incorporate in my daily schedule.
