About: I have loved and trained our own Bernese Mountain Dogs (Germany and Belgium) for over 20 years, and fostered dogs (senior dogs, puppies, and Animal Control rescues) the past 3 years, sometimes taking in dogs who had no reason to trust humans, dogs that learned through our care that comforting routines and training through play helps them to trust again, and leads them to becoming more adoptable dog companions. I believe trust has to be earned with our dogs. Only then, will they let us care for them with love through routines they can count on. I look forward to continuing the routines you have already established with your pupper. I raised our dogs believing every day, every moment is an opportunity for training of basic dog citizen behaviors (come, sit, down, leave it, etc.) through active engagement and play, and daily walks and cuddles. Note: We still welcome in Foster dogs, and hope your non aggressive dog(s) will also be good pup ambassadors in interacting with senior dogs or other fosters. I work remotely part-time from home, and I am retired so aside from short trips away from the house for errands, I am here to care for your dog(s). With our own dogs, we held to a consistent schedule: a morning walk (7-ish), then breakfast, rest (to avoid bloat in large dogs), playtime several times per day in our fenced yard, and an afternoon walk, then dinner. We have a fully fenced yard on 1/4 acre. Potty-trained dogs are welcome in the house and on some covered furniture. We have a 30ʻ deck with an outdoor couch and chairs with with rolling gates to the outer yard. We also have a smaller fenced area for dogs who prefer to be outside in cool shaded grassy areas. I specialize in large non-aggressive dogs. Most of these dogs do not like like to sleep in human beds; I welcome pet guests to bring their own large dog beds for their stays.

When I was on my trip, I had forgotten to log into Rover from my phone, so in addition to submitting her photos and comments to Rover, she also sent me the pictures and comments to my phone directly. Lastly, our water system malfunctioned during the trip, resulting in beeping from the filter system. She took it upon herself to send me a video to inform me and asked me if there was anything I would like her to do to address the issue. About: I've taken care of dogs since I was 10 years old for neighbors, friends and family. These people have relied on me to walk, feed, and board their pets. I have worked and volunteered at National Mill Dog Rescue for seven years where I have enjoyed socializing with dogs in a kennel or play yard, command puppy parties and walks, and have lead outreach programs and events. I have also just graduated from college and am headed to Colorado State Vet school this upcoming fall! About: Aloha- Here, at our home, we have 3 dogs (listed in my profile). Also, a retired Lana'i School teacher (a regular pro-dog walker too!); and now 4 outdoor cats that have adopted us. They come and go as they please 🤷 I have decades caring for fur babies, both dogs & cats. Aside from my own babies, I was previously employed as a care provider at the Lana'i Animal Rescue Center on the island of Lana'i (previously L.A.R.C., now Lana'i Cat Sanctuary). Additionally, on Lana'i, I did in-home sitting for cats, dogs, and was one of only a handful of foster dog moms on the island. This was also in cooperation with L.A.R.C. In the 90s I was a grooming assistant, so I don't mind giving baths, if that is something you desire for your dog. We are also familiar with giving meds over here, and certainly don't mind working with specialized diets, ages & needs. As a mom, I know these are our kids with individual personalities and needs. I'm here to meet those needs with love, cuddles & kindness (and Play!). For Home Sitting & Boarding: Right now my hours are open, if that changes, I will immediately update. For housesits, I stay at the client's home full time — overnight and through most of the day — so pets maintain their normal routines as closely as possible. I follow whatever feeding schedules, rules, and habits the owner has established, and I ask detailed questions before a sit begins so there are no surprises. I treat every home I stay in with care and respect, leaving it in the same condition I found it. For drop-in visits, I arrive on schedule, spend quality time with the pet rather than rushing through, and send updates so owners know everything is going well. In either case I make sure animals have fresh water, are fed on schedule, get appropriate exercise and attention, and are never left alone longer than is comfortable for them. I'm attentive to changes in behavior or health and will contact the owner promptly if anything seems off.

In addition, we maintain our property with pesticides that are safe for dogs to prevent fleas, ticks, and heart worm. About: I have loved and trained our own Bernese Mountain Dogs (Germany and Belgium) for over 20 years, and fostered dogs (senior dogs, puppies, and Animal Control rescues) the past 3 years, sometimes taking in dogs who had no reason to trust humans, dogs that learned through our care that comforting routines and training through play helps them to trust again, and leads them to becoming more adoptable dog companions. I believe trust has to be earned with our dogs. Only then, will they let us care for them with love through routines they can count on. I raised our dogs believing every day, every moment is an opportunity for training of basic dog citizen behaviors (come, sit, down, leave it, etc.) through active engagement and play, and daily walks and cuddles. Note: We still welcome in Foster dogs, and hope your non aggressive dog(s) will also be good pup ambassadors in interacting with senior dogs or other fosters. I work remotely part-time from home, and I am retired so aside from short trips away from the house for errands, I am here to care for your dog(s). With our own dogs, we held to a consistent schedule: a morning walk (7-ish), then breakfast, rest (to avoid bloat in large dogs), playtime several times per day in our fenced yard, and an afternoon walk, then dinner. We have a fully fenced yard on 1/4 acre. Potty-trained dogs are welcome in the house and on some covered furniture. We have a 30ʻ deck with an outdoor couch and chairs with with rolling gates to the outer yard. We also have a smaller fenced area for dogs who prefer to be outside in cool shaded grassy areas. I specialize in large non-aggressive dogs. Most of these dogs do not like like to sleep in human beds; I welcome pet guests to bring their own large dog beds for their stays.
