About: Hi there! My name is Kalyn and any dog I’ve met I have loved like my own! Growing up, I had my German Shepherd, my mini collie, and my cat. Since being active duty military for 10 years I have always boarded and house set many of my friends animals while out of town or on deployment. From pet sitting, long or short walks, boarding and of course taking care of our own pet, I’ve got experience with it all! I’ve also administered medication to dogs of all ages and sizes. Our pup was rescued as well, with little training, so teaching them tricks was always a fun time! I’m currently a Veterinary Technology student at Broward College, and I’ve built my class routine to make sure every pet in my care still gets the love, attention, and time they deserve. Here’s my weekly availability: 📅 Monday – Wednesday: I’m in class for about 3 hours during the day, but I’m available after 3:00 PM for house sitting and dog walking. Before leaving for class, I always make sure pets are fed, walked, and comfortable so they feel relaxed while I’m away. When I return, I give them my full attention for evening care, playtime, and cuddles. 📅 Thursday: I have a short 2-hour class during the day, so my availability is very flexible. I’m free after 3:00 PM and can provide walks, meals, and plenty of evening companionship. 📅 Friday – Sunday: These are my fully open days, which means I’m completely available for full-day and overnight house sitting. I dedicate these days to giving your pets my full focus — walks, playtime, meals, and comfort throughout the day and night. I always plan my week carefully to make sure your pets’ needs come first. Even on class days, I maintain structure and consistency by following their normal schedule as closely as possible. You’ll receive daily updates with photos or videos, so you always know how your pets are doing. Your pet’s well-being and routine are always my top priorities — I’m committed to keeping them safe, loved, and happy every day of the week. Safety and trust are my top priorities with every pet I care for. I know that when you choose someone to look after your pets and your home, you’re putting a lot of faith in them — and I take that responsibility very seriously. As a vet student, I have knowledge of basic animal health, safety practices, and behavior management, which helps me create a calm, comfortable environment for every pet. I make sure water bowls are always full, leashes and collars are properly fitted, and that pets are supervised closely during walks or outdoor time. If a pet seems anxious or uncomfortable, I know how to respond gently and reassure them until they relax. I also understand how important your home is. When house sitting, I always keep things clean, organized, and secure — the way you left them. I lock doors, follow your household instructions, and never invite anyone over. My goal is to make your home feel just as peaceful for your pets as it does when you’re there. About: I truly go the extra mile for those I am taking care of. From extra long walks to lots of play time, I want them to feel comfortable enough that they don’t miss their owners too much under my care. About: I have been surrounded by animals my entire life and learned early on from my grandparents that dogs are extremely loyal, and when trained correctly and treated with patience, they can be your best friend. I have been dog sitting for over ten years and have to say that it’s my favorite job because it doesn’t feel like a job at all! I have chosen to incorporate pet care into as much of my life as I can—I previously worked in an animal clinic where I got to work with a wide variety of different animals and breeds and I’m the proud mama of several rescued pets of my own. I also spent time volunteering in shelters. In my circle of friends, family and co-workers, I’m known as the dog and cat whisperer, as I’m always giving advice and helpful tips! My clients appreciate the fact that I communicate with them regularly throughout the day with photos and text updates. I do my best to be flexible with their needs and be accommodating to their schedule. My background has given me a wealth of experience and I am comfortable working with senior dogs and can administer oral medication and shots. I’m caring, patient and committed, and I don’t just accept any client on—it is very important to me to make sure I’m the right fit for the owner and the pet, so I will work to understand their needs as clearly as I can. Pets love the fact that I get to know them in their own time. I’ll get down on their level and let them sniff me before offering a treat or playing a game to help them open up. I then work with the owner to understand their needs, likes and dislikes, and we go from there! I make sure your fur babies are my number 1 priority while in my care. I take pride in considering your pets as my family in the time I am caring for them. I am currently not boarding in my own home; however, I do make sure when in your home safety measures are taken to ensure everything goes smoothly I.E making sure doors are locked, fences are secured and nothing unsafe is left withing the pets reach.
