About: I am a true Capitol Hill dog lover and I have always had a strong passion for animals, mostly for dogs. I have been caring for dogs since I was child, taking care of my mother’s beloved shitzu. Taking care of her helped me acquire basic canine behavior and taught me the responsibility of taking care of a pet. Most recently I raised my own best friend, Gelato an English Bulldog. I gained my breeder experience with Gelato and cared for her and her 6 puppies, until they were rehomed at 8 months. I enjoy taking long walks, which I consider the ultimate stress reliever and best way to exercise. I have no problem getting my hands dirty. I have 20 years of experience in the customer service field and enjoy striving to provide the best experience to my clients. About: I've been a dog person my whole life. Our family has shared our home with everything from standard poodles to an American Eskimo, so I've handled big personalities, high-maintenance coats, smart dogs who need a job, and gentle seniors who need patience and a soft place to land. We recently lost our beloved standard poodle, and while we're not ready for another dog of our own yet, we have a lot of love with nowhere to go. We'd be thrilled to pour it into yours. Your dog will be our only pet, which means undivided attention: no competing for the couch, the yard, or the treats. Speaking of the yard, it's fully enclosed, so there's plenty of room to sniff, play, and stretch out safely, and we're an easy walk from a nearby park for longer outings. Our home also includes a dog-adoring 7-year-old who has grown up around dogs and knows how to be calm and respectful with them, and all interactions are supervised. By day I run a national nonprofit (from our home), so I'm organized, responsive, and used to being trusted with things that matter to other people. You'll get prompt replies, photo updates, and a sitter who actually follows your instructions, whether that's a medication schedule, a specific feeding routine, or a nightly belly rub quota. I work from home, so your dog won't be left alone for long stretches. My day has a natural rhythm that suits most dogs: a morning walk or yard time before I start work, a midday break for a potty trip and some play, and a longer walk to the park in the late afternoon once the workday winds down. In between, your dog is welcome to nap at my feet, keep an eye on the squirrels from the window, or supervise my Zoom calls. Evenings and weekends are family time, which means more play, more attention, and more couch cuddles. I'm happy to follow your dog's existing schedule for meals, medications, and bedtime, since I know routine is what helps most dogs settle into a new place quickly. Your dog's safety and comfort come first in our home. We have a fully enclosed yard for supervised play and potty breaks, and we're a short walk from several parks for longer outings, always on leash unless you've told me otherwise. I do a quick check of gates and latches before every outing, and dogs are never left unattended outside. Inside, your dog has the run of our home and is welcome on the furniture unless you'd prefer they stay off. We've never crated our own dogs, but if a crate is what makes your pup feel safe and settled, I'm happy to use one. Just bring it along with their bed, food, and anything else that smells like home.

She promptly responded to messages and sent photos of him settling in. Boomer goes everywhere w us, but couldn’t today due to a last minute trip change, and us having to check out of the hotel. When dropping Boomer off, we immediately felt comfortable with Sonja. We knew that we could leave him w her, enjoy the activity we had planned, and know he was in good hands. 10/10 recommend her and would 100% use her services again when in town.”

Buddy passed away two years ago and it has been difficult moving on without him.I am looking for opportunities to dogsit for companionship and an excuse to be more active. I have dogsat for family many times and have experience caring for a range of ages and breeds. I am most familiar with caring for senior dogs. I work fully remote and will be able to be with your baby throughout the day. Please consider me you new sitter! Pet care fits into my daily routine, since I work from home, I’m able to take care of the dog during the day and night. I typically wake up pretty early and keep a regimented schedule throughout the day. I make sure the dog is walked. I make sure that I spend a little time playing with them if they’re older dogs and I spend a little time rubbing them or petting them. Some dogs don’t like all of that so you really have to pay attention to what type of dog you’re getting. Luckily I love all dogs so it’s all fun for me.

She sent us pictures everyday with updates on how he was doing. She also checked in to verify which foods he could have which I very much appreciated. She was an incredibly responsive and easy to coordinate with. I would highly recommended her as a sitter for any senior pups!”

“Malvi and Andrej are really great; they provide personalized care for each dog staying with them, make sure that your dog will do well at their place by introducing them at a meet and greet, and asked about doggie habits and other things they should be aware of. They are communicative and provide lots of updates and pictures during the stay. Our high-energy puppy Echo had loads of fun during her overnight stay playing with the other dogs and came home happy and tired.
