About: Kara proudly calls Connecticut home, and has had the opportunity to teach and assist with classes at various dog training facilities in state and in Massachusetts. She enjoys teaching family dog obedience, barn hunt, weight pull, nosework, and tricks as well as modifying fearful, reactive, and aggressive behaviors in dogs. Kara is a judge for United States Canine Scent Sports (USCC) and Happy Ratters, and is also an AKC Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog evaluator. Finally, she also serves as a puppy raiser for various service dog organizations and works closely with several rescues in state. Kara has always been a natural teacher. She has a sincere passion and enthusiasm for learning and educating people. Kara holds a master’s degree Medieval Studies with a focus on British and French literature, and is a former college professor. However, she credits her true calling to become a dog trainer to her dad, who seemed to possess the ability to charm ant dog he met, as well as her previous dog, Angelus, a rescued Rottweiler x German Shepherd x Husky mix. It was Angelus’s struggle with separation anxiety that sparked Kara’s interest in animal training and behavior. About: I've taken care of dogs and cats my whole life! I've grown up with German Shepherds and have a strong bond with them. My animals are my everything, they are my children. I love training dogs to see their confidence build, and to make our relationship stronger as well. My pup is beyond spoiled and gets to go everywhere with me! I would love to be able to spend time with your fur babies and taking them for a fun time! I am currently only working a few days and have a very flexible schedule. Unfortunately I am not always available on Saturday's or Sunday's, but be sure to check in with me and we might be able to arrange something! I have a large partially fenced in yard, and dog crates if need be. The dog park is only a few miles from my house, and the bike path is right down the street! I try not to visit the dog parks as much as regular parks and hiking trails. My dog and I like to find rivers to play in and keep cool during the sumner. My 4 year old husky shepherd is more than ready to have a playdate! He has 3 big toy bins overflowing to share! Not to mention my extremely friendly cat that will be sure to make friends and play along with any dog or cat she meets!

About: I’ve had dogs in my home for as long as I can remember and have years of hands-on experience with their daily care. I currently walk my dog multiple times a day and am committed to providing reliable, attentive care for every pet. I currently work from home and am able to take dog walk breaks and potty breaks throughout the day. I live within 5 minutes of multiple dog friendly trails and parks. My weekends are spent at home so I rarely leave the house as well. Pet care is my full-time job, so your pet is my top priority! I am available every weekday, weekends, and most holidays. I am available for overnight stays and drop-in visits. Overnight stays allow your pet to have someone there all day and all night to get the love they need while you can't be there; and drop-in visits allow your pet to get the care they need at the times they are used to at a frequency you pick. Feel at ease knowing your pet is in the comfort of their own home able to carry out their normal routine- whatever feeding, potty, and walk times your furry friend is used to.
About: I have both worked with and looked after many sizes/breeds of cats and dogs as well as reptiles, birds, horses, rodents, and fish! (All of varying ages) My availability is pretty open for any needed drop-by visits or longer walk/play time for your pet! This also means I am available almost any time of day for necessary feedings! I have experience crate training dogs and with walking dogs that have not been trained yet! Making sure all pets are safe and comfortable is always my priority!

About: I’ve always been around dogs for many years and family and friends have entrusted me with their pet care. For their pets, I have done bathing, feeding, regular walks, and playtime. I have flexibility in the afternoons after work from 4pm and forward. Monday through Friday and open during the weekends. Plenty of time to care for your pet! I am only able to offer drop in visits and dog walks if needed since I do not own a place, I currently rent and able to drive to other places.

About: Kara proudly calls Connecticut home, and has had the opportunity to teach and assist with classes at various dog training facilities in state and in Massachusetts. She enjoys teaching family dog obedience, barn hunt, weight pull, nosework, and tricks as well as modifying fearful, reactive, and aggressive behaviors in dogs. Kara is a judge for United States Canine Scent Sports (USCC) and Happy Ratters, and is also an AKC Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog evaluator. Finally, she also serves as a puppy raiser for various service dog organizations and works closely with several rescues in state. Kara has always been a natural teacher. She has a sincere passion and enthusiasm for learning and educating people. Kara holds a master’s degree Medieval Studies with a focus on British and French literature, and is a former college professor. However, she credits her true calling to become a dog trainer to her dad, who seemed to possess the ability to charm ant dog he met, as well as her previous dog, Angelus, a rescued Rottweiler x German Shepherd x Husky mix. It was Angelus’s struggle with separation anxiety that sparked Kara’s interest in animal training and behavior. Kara loves to learn and has benefited from shadowing and being mentored by various dog trainers throughout her career, learning about everything from obedience and sports to pets and behavior modification to service dogs and personal protection/bite work. Working from home has allowed me to be flexible with my time and also focus on the animals in my care. There is plenty of time for one on one attention, snuggles, walks, enrichment opportunities, and exercise. I believe in being proactive and not reactive. I believe in thinking about something, having a plan for what could go wrong, and what can go right, and then executing that plan. Trying to foresee all potential outcomes and plan accordingly keeps everyone safe. At my house, there is a fenced in backyard, with dual gated entrances to make accidental escapes virtually impossible. Inside my house, I live in a gated community. Gates and crates are utilized as necessary in order to keep everyone safe. There are multiple entrances to help maintain an organized flow of traffic. She has 2 fenced in areas- a front yard and back yard with a pool! There is definitely plenty of places for your dogs to roam and play outside. She also has a nice area inside for them to play and where she gives tons of cuddles! She honors whatever your routine is, as I wanted my dog to sleep in her soft crate and be fed twice a day with pottie breaks every 4hrs. She is very reliable, dependable, efficient and a total sweetheart! She knows how to slowly introduce dogs and makes sure everyone is safe and comfortable besides having fun! I was so calm knowing that my Lola was in good hands and given so much attention by her, her family, and the other dogs! A definite 5 star rating in my book!”
