About: I am a cat person at heart. I initially started volunteering at my local animal shelter so I could be around cats because I was unable to have a cat of my own due to my family's allergies. Little did I know, this would spawn a lifelong passion for animal care, particularly for cats. Now, as an adult, working at a luxury cat boarding kennel has allowed me to pursue my passion as a career! I have had the unique opportunity to work with a wide variety of cats spanning from enormous Maine Coons to sleek Bombays and spry kittens to leisurely elders. About: Around age 24, I adopted a cat who was extremely shy and nervous. t took me 3 months of work to be able to touch her but it was so worth it! I always made sure she had all of the love and care she needed. She was very particular about having a clean litter box (we agreed there!) and with her food and treats. I bought her a water fountain when I noticed she was making more of a mess with her water bowl than she seemed to be drinking. I still miss her, but memories of her and her memorial tattoo on my inner wrist help me through each day.

About: Having cared for 13 dogs and 4 cats (yes, we keep count), we've seen it all. Daily exercise and even bathing is quite familiar to us. Leo has hands-on experience with animal shelters, and I have biological based experience with both nutritional needs and animal anatomy, and we both can provide basic training. We currently have a year-old golden retriever and a tabby! We've dealt with a couple lovable (but difficult) pets and can deal with issues like stubbornness, biting, and basic potty training. Leo works from home, and I'm a commuter-basically, there's always someone home! We are both the "outdoorsy" type and frequent the devil's hop yard, as well as hike through our property. As STEM majors, animals keep us sane! We can also transport your pets (we have the seating and everything). Our property has a spacious (but secure) 100-acre forest, perfect for supervised walks and exploration! At home, our pets—a friendly Golden Retriever and a sweet Tabby—ensure your furry friend will never feel lonely. We can also provide crate time if needed for safety or comfort, and (given our flexibility) tailor care routines to meet each pet’s needs!

About: Hi! I’m Dina, a lifelong animal lover based in Niantic, CT. I recently moved to the area with my husband, Collin, who works at Millstone, and our very spoiled fur baby, Leo the cat. Although I’m new to Rover and still fairly new to the area, I’m definitely not new to pet care. I’m 33 years old and have been pet sitting since middle school, caring for both dogs and cats through long-term stays, drop-in visits, walks, feeding routines, litter changes, and playtime. I’m patient with shy or nervous pets and always let them warm up at their own pace. One of my favorite moments was when I got a skittish dog to come over and say hi, and my niece asked if I could “speak Dog.” I can’t officially confirm, but I do have a pretty good track record with tail wags. 🐕 My background is in photography and marketing, but I recently stepped back from that field to chase my dream of becoming an author. I’m currently working on my first YA fantasy novel while earning extra income doing something I genuinely love: caring for animals. I also have plenty of references available upon request. About: When I was young, 4 or 5 years old, I'd go with my grandparents when they took care of the neighborhood animals - cats, dogs, and sheep. I really enjoyed their Siamese cats that they adopted from neighbors down the road. When I was 10, my family got Maxx - a Golden Retriever/Samoyed mix. He became diabetic and needed insulin shots later on, and I helped administer those. After I became an adult, I adopted 2 cats with a partner. When we split, I took the cat that had bonded with me and cared for her until she passed at age 18. She developed thyroid disease and it took me a while to figure out how to get her meds in her, but I did and she had a much higher quality of life. I also switched to feeding her Gerber baby food (she preferred that brand over Beechnut, I'm not kidding) when she started to get even fussier about her food. Before that I helped care fore my grandparents' Siamese - I would microwave small chunks of hamburger for him and give him subcutaneous water treatments at home, and he ACTUALLY sat quietly and patiently during the treatments, the vet couldn't believe it! **I particularly enjoy, and excel at, working with older pets, pets with special needs, and shy or skittish pets.** As of right now, pet care fits into my schedule quite easily. I am currently pet-/house-sitting full time, and greatly enjoying meeting all types of pets and their humans! I care for pets in their homes, staying with them. My priority is getting emergency contact numbers, and procedures in case of emergency. I follow pets’ normal daily routines as closely as possible, and make sure to give them plenty of love, attention, exercise, play, and socialization.

About: I’ve had multiple dogs my whole life ranging from chihuahuas, to Alaskan malamutes, pitmix, to dogs you just aren’t sure what they are but that just makes them all the more lovable. I love being active so taking dogs for a walk gives me even more of an excuse to be outside to run around. I also love meeting new dogs and ensuring they get the enrichment they need throughout the day while their human is out doing what they need to do. I love to teach dogs new tricks or to see them learn how to walk on a leash better. My goal is to always make sure the dog is well taken care of and ready for the day ahead after a much needed walk. I am currently working part time so I love filling in what time I can with helping dogs. With work schedules for most people getting more hectic, I help where I can. I’ve walked elderly dogs who have back problems, and puppies who are petrified of the harness attached to them. I show dogs patience in their life circumstances so they can get the most enjoyment.

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 11 years old. I have walked, taken pups outside, fed them meals, kept them company and I’m able to do all of that for you and your puppies too! I currently work full time however my schedule allows me to still care for your puppies! The most amount of time I’ll be away at a time is 5-6 hours. I’m happy to chat about my schedule for the week you need me. I have 3 dogs who need much attention, I make sure by the end of the night they are out of energy by playing with them and running around outside. About: I've worked in the pet industry for 10 years as a boarding and washing attendant at a Veterinary clinic and as a Supervisor at a pet store in California called Kahoots Pet Store. I've befriended puppies to senior doggies to kitties and more and I've received lots of handling experience from these jobs. I've watched many friend's and family's animals over years. I love animals and have 3 cats of my own along with 3 leopard geckos and a Mexican black king snake! Im currently working part time so I'll have lots of time to hang out with your pups or kitties. I have pretty open availability as far walking or house sitting is concerned. I can take your pups out into the backyard and play with them as long as it's fenced or we can go out for leashed walks. If the kitties are comfortable with me around them I'd love to play with them but I won't push their comfort zone if that's not something they want. We'll coexist in the same space peacefully.

About: Hello! I just finished my master’s and am looking to pick up some dog-walking and pet-sitting gigs as I apply for jobs.
