I work from home so taking a break to walk or feed pets is not an issue. There is even some extra time to give them some attention too! I am currently searching for work, and have lots of time at the beginning, middle, and end of the day to help give your pets the attention they need! I’m able to house sit if you are traveling, as well as available for dog walks and check-ins as needed! My animals each have unique needs when it comes to the attention they need and their diet. I carve out time in the day to give the special attention to each animal, that they deserve. I have a special relationship with each of my animals and couldn’t imagine life without them!
About: My name is Kristina Leigh. I recently turned 42 years old ( in human years) I have spent the majority of these years sharing my life with dogs. I have experience working as a groomer, working at a pet store, and I also have Emergency 24hr Veterinary Hospital Clinic experience. I took classes at Northwestern CT Community College in the Vet Tech program. I have loved 3 amazing senior sweet rescue pitbulls throughout my adult life, and countless four-pawed friends in between. I am not a stranger to exotic reptiles, amphibians, and small rodents of all varieties. This includes my lifetime passion for fresh and salt water fish care. I am very calm, gentle, and patient when it comes to caring for senior dogs and nervous pups. I have basic first aid pet knowledge, but most importantly I have common sense. The most important thing to me personally, is to completely put your mind at ease. Your pets are in great hands. I know and understand as a pet parent the worry that often comes with being away from your pet. That being said, I can guarentee that proper care, respect, and instructions will be shown and followed with your animal and within your home. But I am certain that you will feel at ease by how your pet behaves in my presence. I love animals, and they know it. Trust and respect are incredibly important for me when I am choosing who cares for my pet, my dog is my little chubby dumpling princess. The absolute best is what I ask and expect, and that is what I give to your own little buddies. I have my own transportation, and can accommodate new changes in schedule in a reasonable amount of time. My schedule is flexible, and so is my character. I am more than willing to help create a solution when one feels impossible. All you need do is ask. Things happen; life happens, and hopefully you will feel that choosing me as your pet's Auntie makes things much easier for you. I take the safety of your furry family member very seriously I have training experience walking bouncy puppies, "pully" pooches, and slow older doggos. I am patient, calm, and know my surroundings at all times during the walks. I can help teach your dog proper leash etiquette if it is wanted I absolutely love spending time around dogs and animals. This is my passion, and if I could do this for free everyday, I would. I have plenty of time to put towards the care of animals. I have a detailed schedule that I follow, and everything is organized and on track. I understand that while caring for animals, extreme care must be taken. I have been called over-protective when it comes to my own pets. But it is for their own protection. Unfortunately, they lack the legal rights that humans have. I am very careful when other animals are around (especially leash-less wildcards coming in hot towards myself and the dog I'm walking ) therefore, it is my choice to not allow strangers to pet any animal I am caring for. Similar to working dogs. There are too many negative examples of pets becoming unfairly removed from their homes because of some untrue accusation. An example is this: You've definitely seen dogs " smiling" to their owners. Some dogs just learn that behavior, and it is far from aggressive behaviour in their minds. Now say someone asks to pet your dog on a walk. The dog smiles, and it is misinterpreted as aggression, person is scared, maybe they act in a way that is embarrassing once they realize they aren't in danger. Maybe they create a scenario in their minds where they were bitten and then they want the " violent" dog put down. and then that is where the mess begins. Safety first!

We met Jill a month before Charlotte stayed with the family, and she was gracious and kind. Gave us a tour of her home and some time for Charlotte to meet her and their family dog Tucker ( a super sweetie). Jill was super flexible about pickup/dropoff, and responds quickly. We very much appreciated all of the pictures she sent to us of Charlotte during her stay (it looks like she rotated between everyone's laps - her favorite thing!). When I picked Charlotte up, she was calm and happy. She got along fine with Tucker which makes us happy for him too, and Jill's daughter's were super sweet with her. It's a comfort to know that Charlotte is being loved when she stays will Jill just as she is when home with us, and now we can go away with peace of mind. “A savior. My dog was previously discriminated against at a kennel because of my dogs breed, and I was at a loss of what to do when entrusting my dogs care, and time was of the essence. Finding someone new was uncomfortable at best, but meeting Rich and his crew, and seeing how much my dog loved being there was a HUGE comfort. When I left Fin there, I did not worry, and that is saying something, as I was flying across the country, and leaving my dog in his care. I got very frequent updates and photos on how Fin was doing. We will be returning to Rich, without a doubt, in the future for my dogs care, and his doggy girlfriend, too. Run. Don’t walk, to have this man take care of your dogs.”

About: I have been grooming dogs for over 18 years, and boarding clients' pups in my home for 16 years. My 13 yr old homeschooled son and I adore all dogs. We have 2 wonderful medium sized girls (Myla 8, Josie 1.5) who love all dogs and people! My career in grooming means I truly 'speak dog' and understand their quirks and needs. I have extensive experience with all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I'm comfortable administering oral and injectible medications, as well as supplements. Our dogs eat a raw diet, so food & water bowls get sterilized after each meal. Since we homeschool, we spend a lot of time at home or close by with friends. My son often has friends over who love to play with dogs. This means we have a great balance of calm & quiet time, as well as active & fun time. Our lovely property has Invisible Fence for about a acre, so any dogs trained on it get to enjoy lots of untethered play time. Every dog who stays gets a temporary ID tag with my address and phone number in case of accidental 'escape' We love couch cuddles, and both of our girls sleep in bed with my son. We also have dog beds everywhere, and crates & gates available when needed.
