I am honest and trustworthy. I would never disrespect a pet or client. Many have left their pups with us before. I’m happy to send pictures. I have a flexible work schedule and my husband is often home too. If we are not home, dogs who may chew, need to bring a crate. But the longest we wouldn’t be home is usually a half work day. I have an acre of land with no fence, so we use a vibration Halo collar. You must be comfortable with that. We have deer and bunnies who visit. Dogs will be able to go outside quite often most times. We are awake early, don’t mind bed/couch cuddlers, and don’t mind a playful dog.

About: We have always had dogs, but we are currently without a dog of our own and really want to have them around, but our travel schedule is making it hard to decide to get our own again. We would love to spend time with yours when we are not traveling. We are home all day and our schedules are very flexible. We love walks, playing , and hanging out with dogs. We have lots of experience with older dogs and medical needs, including medication and injections. Whatever your dog needs, we can provide it in a loving and safe environment. About: We nicknamed our home The Dachs Inn - a weenie wonderland! We’ve cared for Dachshunds for 15 years and specialize in meeting the unique needs of this breed, including dog ramps on our furniture and deck. Our home features a dog door with all-day access to a giant backyard for potty breaks, play time, sunbathing and squirrels!!! Plush dog beds are placed through the home and a giant sectional provides the perfect spot for cuddle time. Daily walks are provided, we even have a dog stroller for senior dogs or those dachshunds suffering from IVDD. I work remotely from home full time and, along with my retired husband, provide hourly drop-in care, play dates, overnight and extended boarding in our home. Additionally, I provide home visits and walking services to families located on the west side of Colorado Springs. Other locations throughout Colorado are considered on case-by-case request for extended care in your home (5 or more days). I have three dachshunds, ages 15, 10, and under 1 year. My dog-friendly home has a fenced back yard, we feed all visiting dogs separately, and can provide daily pictures of your baby’s activities. I can also provide regular weigh-ins, medications, and teeth brushing. I am very active and love going on long walks/hikes (up to three miles) upon request. While I prefer to host only smaller dogs in our home, I am open to all breeds for care at your home - including drop-ins, walks, and house sitting. I kindly ask that all dogs are current on all vaccinations, including kennel cough. For medical emergencies, we are established at Westside Animal Hospital, The Animal Clinic of Woodland Park, and the Emergency Pet Center.
“Really appreciated John taking our last-minute booking to take care of my crazy Dalmatian. With high separation anxiety, I'm always uneasy about leaving Spice with someone she does not know. However, my husband dropped her off at John's house, and she was immediately engrossed with sniffing the backyard and didn't even know she had been left. John took her on a nice walk around the neighborhood, and she settled down immediately on the deck in the sunshine when they returned. No tantrums. I’m adaptable when it comes to my furry clients. I find it helpful to set up a meet and greet before accepting a booking, that way both parties are comfortable and agree that we are a good fit. I pay attention to detail and leave your home exactly as I found it. Any pet messes will be cleaned up immediately upon discovery. My goal is for your pet to feel comforted when you aren’t able to be there. I value communication and update my clients after each visit.

About: I have owned dogs for 30 years of many different breeds and temperaments. I am very active with my own dog going to the dog park or hiking daily and have room for a few dog friends to go. I am available all days and hours with time to spend walking and going on adventures with dogs and keeping them mentally stimulated and happy. I have a puggle that is young and energetic so small nippy dogs will need prior introduction. He gets along great with big friendly dogs. I have a fenced yard and a puggle to keep your dog company and a dog door for them to go in and out. I will be present at all times when caring for your dog. I only accept dogs that are potty trained for indoor boarding.

“We recently booked Michael’s services for an extended stay of 7 days. We have a 100 pound German shepherd named Alakay that doesn’t do well with other dogs. The entire time, Michael was very accommodating towards our needs and concerns. We were initially very nervous because this was our first time using Rover and boarding not at a local kennel. Just during the first day, we received updates on how Alakay was doing and Michael stayed in contact with us the entire time with pictures and updates on his day. We were able to enjoy our vacation worry free and know that Alakay was in good hands. We came back to a very happy Alakay and you could tell he enjoyed his stay significantly more than previous kennels we have booked. We will 100% book with Michael again!”
