About: Hello, I am a local who lives full time in Tahoe City. I've been a pet owner with both dogs and cats for the last 30+years. I am a mother of two grown children that are now off away at school. I work at the local elementary school with young children of special needs. I am a fun, caring and loving person who loves both animals and humans. I don't have any pets living with me so your pet would be the only one I would be caring for. I am free to take care of your pet most days, nights and some weekends. I work from home during the summer months so my schedule is always flexible. I currently live in a condo down the street from Lake Tahoe. There are numerous parks at the lake as well as many hiking trails to walk your dog at that are close by my place. I will always walk your dogs on a leash unless otherwise informed by owner to let run free in the woods and trails. I am very safe and responsible.
About: We have taken care of animals all our lives and have a genuine love for each of them. We have experience with it all; new puppies and kittens, as well as older furry friends who may need special treatment and/or administering medication. Between the both of us, we always make it a priority to work with our pups with lots of playtime, exercise, training and socialization daily. We both are self employed and create our own schedules so we are flexible and work together to ensure our pets have an enjoyable & active day. We have a large dog-friendly fenced-in yard as well as amazing trails just outside our backdoor. Our Aussie-Border Collie mix, Penny is super friendly and submissive and gets along with everyone. She is super gentle when needed and can hold her own with larger dogs also. We have a very well socialized cat, Eleanor, who LOVES dogs and visitors.

“Kilo had the best vacation stay with April & Rachel (Aliyah & Honey too). He was so happy and came home exhausted!! He needed a day of RnR from his stay. Now for my personal review. Now that I have met April & Rachel, I would not take Kilo any place else to watch our boy. I felt so comfortable after our meet & greet with the living arrangements and with the humans watching over him. I knew he would be treated like a king and in good safe hands. I didn’t have to worry about him the whole time I was gone. April & Rachel sent us photos/videos of Kilo so that I could see first hand how he was doing. He was getting the love and attention (even more than when he is at home) and this made us very happy. It’s nice to know he’s in great hands when we are away. April & Rachel will be my first call for my next trip and I would recommend them for your pups too. 🐶 🐾”

I work from home with a very flexible schedule, so I’m always happy to go out for a walk or a hike. Ellie, my 13-year-old Lab, is always up for meeting a new dog friend. Daycare Rates & Information: Daycare is up to 8 hours of care. Anything longer than that time, please book a boarding stay. Drop-offs anytime after 8 a.m. Pickups before 8 p.m. Although there is a nice buffer of woods near my house, the yard is not fenced (hopefully soon). I’ll be sure to keep your pup on a leash just in case! There’s an enclosed deck for sunbathing and watching chipmunks.

“So grateful to have found Shawna on Rover. We got married in Reno but live out of town. We dropped off our pup Moose on Thursday evening, and picked him up Sunday afternoon. About: I have had animals my whole life, though not professionally, but I have taken care of mine and friends animals now for many years. When friends are out of town or at work all day I will take their dogs on walks/hikes or to the lake for some swimming. I do work a full-time job but my job allows me to get out at a decent time so I enjoy hiking and walks after I get out of work so I wouldn't mind a furry buddy with me as I enjoy the outdoors! I already do it for some friends so I might as well offer it up to anyone that would like their pets to get outside more. Each have personalities, emotions, and specifics needs like every member of our family do. This is how I approach caring for pets. I am an active person so would love to take your pet on adventures. About: I grew up with a multitude of dogs and there were often litters of puppies running around in our household so I have a lot of experience with puppies and full grown dogs. I’m from Nebraska and don’t currently own a dog but have all my weekends free to offer dog sitting services. I don’t have any other animal at my house but would love to take the dog/dogs to the park to socialize them and also on at least one walk a day if not more. I have a very active lifestyle so if your dog does too I can take them to Millcreek to go on hikes as well. If your dog isn’t as active or is too old for such strenuous activities then no worries I will still be able to spend a lot of time with the dogs on the weekends so they won’t be alone.

We have a large dog-friendly fenced-in yard as well as amazing trails just outside our backdoor. Our Aussie-Border Collie mix, Penny is super friendly and submissive and gets along with everyone. She is super gentle when needed and can hold her own with larger dogs also. We have a very well socialized cat, Eleanor, who LOVES dogs and visitors.

About: I grew up with a multitude of dogs and there were often litters of puppies running around in our household so I have a lot of experience with puppies and full grown dogs. I’m from Nebraska and don’t currently own a dog but have all my weekends free to offer dog sitting services. I don’t have any other animal at my house but would love to take the dog/dogs to the park to socialize them and also on at least one walk a day if not more. I have a very active lifestyle so if your dog does too I can take them to Millcreek to go on hikes as well. If your dog isn’t as active or is too old for such strenuous activities then no worries I will still be able to spend a lot of time with the dogs on the weekends so they won’t be alone.

I have experience caring for a variety of breeds/sizes, ages, personalities, and levels of health. Over the past 15 years I have also sat for family, friends, and neighbors. I work remotely for a local company so my availability is pretty flexible and will allow me to be with your pup(s) as often as needed. Safety is my top priority. They will be leashed for potty breaks if there isn’t a fenced yard at home and on walks, especially while exploring busy trails and beaches.

We have a friendly, playful 9 month Great Dane who is already over 100 lbs so I wanted someone who was comfortable with that size. He is friendly, was here on time and was good with my dog. About: Hello, I am a local who lives full time in Tahoe City. I've been a pet owner with both dogs and cats for the last 30+years. I am a mother of two grown children that are now off away at school. I work at the local elementary school with young children of special needs. I am a fun, caring and loving person who loves both animals and humans. I don't have any pets living with me so your pet would be the only one I would be caring for. I am free to take care of your pet most days, nights and some weekends. I work from home during the summer months so my schedule is always flexible. I currently live in a condo down the street from Lake Tahoe. There are numerous parks at the lake as well as many hiking trails to walk your dog at that are close by my place. “Kilo had the best vacation stay with April & Rachel (Aliyah & Honey too). He was so happy and came home exhausted!! He needed a day of RnR from his stay. Now for my personal review. Now that I have met April & Rachel, I would not take Kilo any place else to watch our boy. I felt so comfortable after our meet & greet with the living arrangements and with the humans watching over him. I knew he would be treated like a king and in good safe hands. I didn’t have to worry about him the whole time I was gone. April & Rachel sent us photos/videos of Kilo so that I could see first hand how he was doing. He was getting the love and attention (even more than when he is at home) and this made us very happy. It’s nice to know he’s in great hands when we are away. April & Rachel will be my first call for my next trip and I would recommend them for your pups too. 🐶 🐾”

Daycare Rates & Information: Daycare is up to 8 hours of care. Anything longer than that time, please book a boarding stay. Drop-offs anytime after 8 a.m. Pickups before 8 p.m. Although there is a nice buffer of woods near my house, the yard is not fenced (hopefully soon). I’ll be sure to keep your pup on a leash just in case! There’s an enclosed deck for sunbathing and watching chipmunks.

About: I have experience working at a doggy day-care. I was responsible for watching and entertaining up to 25 dogs at a time of all ages and sizes! I work 10 hour shifts 4 days a week Tues-Fri. I am not home for pick ups/drop-offs between 7:15 AM-6:30 PM on those days. However my 3-day weekend gives me plenty of time to give your pup the love and attention they deserve! I hope to find some canine friends to hike with me on the weekends. I can cater to whatever your dog needs as I have plenty of experience working with different breeds, sizes, and ages. “I was brand new to the area with no established pet sitter and needed to travel last minute. Local kennels couldn’t accommodate me on such short notice. A Google search turned up the Rover app which in turn brought me to Gina and Erik. They had good reviews and repeat customers, so I contacted them via the app. They could accommodate me, had good prices, and asked me if I wanted to come see their home first. My cat is both a mama’s boy and a bit of a scaredy cat. I’d never boarded him before. I was worried he’d think he’d been abandoned again. (He’d been a stray after being adopted as a kitten. He was nine when I adopted him.) He was anxious at first, but in the pictures and videos that Gina and Erik sent, I could see that he was relaxing with them more each day. On the day I was to drive back home, I woke with a migraine. There was no way I could do the drive. I had to ask for an additional day with no advance notice. Fortunately Gina and Erik were able to keep my cat one day longer. Also, I forgot to mention the poopy mess that Gina helped me clean up when I first dropped him off. They provided me with above and beyond service. I wholeheartedly recommend them.”

I have a fully fenced yard and live close to endless trails and the river. Can take your dog for 1-2 long adventures and endless attention throughout the day. We usually wake up and have breakfast around 7 a.m., then head to Prosser Lake by 8 a.m. for an hour or two of swimming and exploring. Our afternoons are spent in the shaded, fenced yard with water, or inside the house depending on the weather. In the evenings, we enjoy a quick neighborhood walk after dinner, followed by cuddling up for a movie and bedtime!
