“Outstanding care, a True Dog whisperer. Sequoia Humane Society hired Mark to care for Browner an d Odie over the Thanksgiving holiday - Two large dogs! Both are known to struggle with other dogs, including each other. I was honestly preparing for this to simply be a safe, calm stay...what we got was something truly incredible. From the very beginning, Mark asked all the right questions about behavior, needs, routines and safety. It was clear he understood these were not "easy" dogs and approach their care with thoughtfulness, patience and professionalism. I encouraged him to try socializing them only if he felt right about an opportunity. To our complete surprise, Brownie and Odie became best friends almost immediately in his care. This is something we have not been able to achieve in a shelter environment and seeing that transformation was nothing short of amazing. This experience has opened new doors for both dogs and given us real hope for their future success in foster and forever homes. Both dogs had the time of their life in Mark's care. We are grateful for his kindness and opening his home to our animals during Thanksgiving and the day after. As Executive Director of Sequoia Humane Society, I can confidently say I would trust him again and without hesitation recommend him to anyone looking for an exceptional caregiver for your animals...especially dogs!”

“It seems my nervous dog was very comfortable (and even playful!) with Neil, Mariah, and their dog posse. In fact, he couldn’t wait to greet Neil at the door this last trip. I’m very happy to have found them, and it will be a relief to know Linny is in loving hands during future trips.”

“I can't recommend Jacquelyn enough! My senior pup was injured just prior to her stay and had to be given medication and be on restricted movement. Jacquelyn asked questions as needed and provided daily updates. The home itself is really calming, which I'm sure Gertie appreciated. Overall great experience.”

About: I have three pets, two dogs and one cat. I am responsible for feeding them, replacing the pee pads, cleaning up the litter, and walking the dogs. I have had my dogs for over ten years and they have helped me through tough times, and I want to help other dogs who need help whenever the owner is busy. My cat follows me wherever I go and climbs on my shoulders like a parrot, and my dogs come to me when they are scared. I am available every day including holidays (I rather hang out with your pets than be with my family, don't tell them). However, I am a college student. On Mondays, I'll be unavailable from 2:30-8:00 p.m. On Tuesdays, I'll be available by 1:00 p.m. On Wednesdays, I'll be unavailable from 12:30-4:00 p.m. On Thursdays, I'll be unavailable from 10:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. & 6:00-8:00 p.m. From Friday to Sunday, I'm free. I am someone who is emotionally attached to animals, so I will do everything I can to make sure your pet is safe and healthy, such as not letting them go outside by your request, keeping them away from toxic and poisonous foods, and keeping a sharp eye on them to make sure they don't hurt themselves.
About: Having extensive knowledge on dog nutrition as well as domesticating feral dogs with specialized training. I am also skilled in administering all types medication. My dog Axl and I completed AKC canine good citizen certification. This has increased my skills in dog training and behavioral corrections. This allows me more time to love and care for them I provide a large secure yard with green grass for plenty of playtime that no pup has escaped. I also am well versed and aware of different dog behaviors and health issues that can arise and can communicate effectively regarding your pet to ensure safety with the best health options.
“Halley was so nice & communicative throughout Micah's stay (~5 days). They spent plenty of time outside and even went to an event at the beach. When Micah came home he was tired & content. I definitely recommend Halley if you're looking for someone to care for your pet.”
“My dogs were comfortable with Jessie and I appreciated her flexibly about drop off and pick up times. Her photos and welfare updates were great especially since this was my first time leaving my girls overnight for two nights. I would want Jessie’s help again next time I plan more exploration of the great outdoors in the Humboldt county area.”

“Stari was an awesome sitter for our special needs pooch. She sent us regular updates and even shared photos of Chloe enjoying walks on the beach. Very sweet and professional. Highly recommended.”

About: I’ve had years of experience with all sorts of pets! My family has owned dogs, cats, chickens, and even reptiles. With this, I’ve had years of learning to care for our loving pets and their different needs. I also spend my free time volunteering at the local animal shelter. There, I walk and attend to a variety of different dogs of all ages and breeds. I’m free every day except Tuesday-Thursday 9:00 am - 10:20 am. I am available to check up on or walk pets whenever is needed/wherever is preferred. I have a secluded home in the forest with a large backyard. My family owns chickens (which are enclosed in another area), a small chihuahua mix, and an old cat.
“5/5 stars. Would definitely rate higher if I could. I had to leave my pup with Celeste for the weekend while I flew out of town. She was super accommodating throughout; from taking her to get a new collar (at my request) from petco to pushing back her own schedule to drop off my pup to me at the airport after I had been delayed. All around awesome and easy going, I will definitely be using again.”

About: I've owned and lived with at least 8 different cats since I was 10. Cats are my favorite animal on the planet earth. My first cat I got when I was 15, and I had her for 9 years until her unfortunate passing due to cancer. She will always be in my heart. My current 2 girls are the sweetest things, and I look forward to seeing them every time I get home. I sometimes go and give cat advice to my mom who is a new cat owner with a kitten who is almost 1. I help play with her kitten and her dog while my mom gets things done around her home. I know cats sometimes need medicine, especially elderly cats, my girl Diamond included. I'm more than willing to help with that, I just need to be shown what to do in order to help out. Or give me good instructions, that's always okay. My years of experience will have to start from when I got my first cat and I climbed over mountains to learn everything I possibly could about her, and her needs.

“This was a great experience for us and for our cats. Mark's spacious, warm garage was the perfect place for our 4 cats to spend the night. We knew they were safe, they had lots of room to explore and they were together. We are booking another night soon.”
“Johannesburg was amazing all the way around! She was available I'm very short notice and was flexible with the meet and greet. She proved herself to be trustworthy, reliable, honest, kind and caring. Don't hesitate one moment to book her!”

About: 🐱 Cat Care I’m also very comfortable caring for cats and understand that every cat has their own personality and comfort level. Whether your cat is playful and social or more independent and shy, I take the time to make sure they feel safe and relaxed while you’re away. I can help with feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning, playtime, and giving your cat attention at their own pace. I also make sure their routine stays as consistent as possible so they remain stress-free in their own environment. I’m happy to provide updates and photos so you can see how your cat is doing while you’re gone and have peace of mind knowing they’re well cared for.

“Ember is THEE BEST. Why can't I give her 10 stars?!? She was so communicative and understanding with our crazy travel schedule and reassured me with how my baby was doing. I would recommend her to anyone for her kind, gentle and patient care.”

About: I have a lifetime experience with cats. I am able to tend to meticulous feeding or med schedules and would love to help you in any way i can! I volunteered at Thundering Paws Animal Sanctuary all through my High School years in Austin TX. Since then my home has always had various critters scooting around at all times. I have been pet sitting professionally for 3 years now in Humboldt and have many positive local references. There isn't much I can't handle but I'm also aware dogs can have different personalities and different needs. I'd love to cater to your pet specifically!
About: I have been a repeat sitter for a pug and house sitter for month long stays. I have cared for our queensland heeler for 10 years. I am a Eureka resident and a working professional with a flexible, hybrid schedule. I am working remotely Monday through Friday with a flexible schedule. I can adapt my schedule to the needs of your pet, including walks throughout the day. I am attentive to individual pets needs and a client said I left the house cleaner than when he left. I provide a safe, playful, and loving environment for your pet.

About: With years of experience in cat care, I offer a personalized approach that ensures your cat feels comfortable and loved. What sets me apart is my attention to detail—whether it’s administering medications, monitoring special diets, or providing companionship during their time alone. I understand the unique quirks and needs of cats, offering them not just care, but a stress-free and enjoyable experience while you’re away.
About: I am a former dog trainer at Dog Gone Amazing training and boarding in Reno Nv for the past 4 and half years. I moved to Eureka to have a new start and would love to continue to work with animals. I’ve worked with many different breeds and many different temperaments. I currently have two dogs of my own and a cat as well. I’ve grown up with all sorts of animals, such a horses, chickens, sled dogs and cats. I would love to continue working with new pets and their owners! I currently have 2 dogs and a cat. I’ve also worked as a kennel tech at a boarding/training facility and then moved on to become a trainer at that same facility. I always recommend crates for any situation but in my own home I would crate all dogs and rotate based on how they all get along. Feeding in the crate or separate from other animals. Daily walks or hikes depending on the animal. Cats would get daily enrichment. If weather doesn’t permit or the animal isn’t able to get that day I’d offer mental enrichment such as lick mats, food puzzles, play, training, etc.

“I booked Erica for a drop in when I was heading out of town and she really made me feel like my cat was in good hands. She sent a cute photo of him and communicated well. Would recommend!”
About: My whole life I have helped take of family pets including dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, and horses. I have done pet sitting/walking for others over the years as well. I am looking for a job this summer and I’m not sure what my schedule will be like but it will depend on how many hours I am given. I my clients home I make sure the pets receive lots of love and long walks. I make sure to always follow exact directions given.
“We needed someone to watch our cat and I was nervous going through the app but had limited options since we are new to the area. Zalie was great! Super communicative, kind, and considerate. We needed to change our dates and she was easily reachable and super accommodating. We knew scoots was in good hands and we will be booking Zalie again next month. Also I want to add she knew her stuff! Some of the questions she asked were things I would never think of, it’s clear she takes her job seriously and covers all the bases.”

About: I have loved animals all my life and my dog is my whole world! I am not certified but have studied positive reinforcement dog training for many years and had great success. It is a dream of mine to become a dog trainer. This being said, I am confident I can provide safety and proper care for your pet. Additionally I’ve meticulously cared for many small animals and cats as well, and I am very careful because I know how important our animals friends are to us. I have experience with senior animals and administering oral medications and inhalers. Please reach out with any additional questions or concerns regarding your pet’s comfort and well being! Right now I work from home with a very flexible schedule. I am available as needed right now and looking for new clients to brighten my days! In my clients home I am focused on respecting the space of the animals and the client. It’s my job to ensure the animal is safe and sound and so my first goal is to be a safe and protective presence.
About: Not your average dog caretaker! I am a certified professional dog trainer & handler extraordinaire. Many folks on this platform will get your dog out for a "walk" and barely cover half a mile in the whole 30 minutes-- not me! I will make sure the needs of your dog are met, whatever they may be. I will maximize the booking for exercise, engagement, potty/food needs, and love. Your dog will look forward to our visits! I have worked closely with dogs in a variety of capacities- sled dogs, detection dogs, foster dogs, you name it! They are what I'm passionate about and providing quality care is my utmost priority. I work from home and have a highly flexible schedule, so I will always be available to tend to the needs of your pet(s). I put the needs of the animals I care for above all else. With any booking- you will get updates at least once a day, with photos and an update of how much fun your pet is having! In addition to Rover's offerings, I offer pack excursions! For an excursion, your pet will be picked up, taken on a hike/run/walk of 2-6 miles, as appropriate. I offer these as pack walks, so it's likely your dog will be with at least one other pup. Meet and greets are essential before booking due to this. Walks are adjusted to meet the needs of the dogs in the pack, and packs are put together based on similar needs. After 2-4 hours, depending on the excursion, your dog will be returned home toweled off and tired! Training can be arranged for dogs with either 3+ day long stays, or repeat day care/walkers. I specialize in "problem" behaviors, such as separation anxiety, destruction, shyness, etc. and would love to work with you and your pet on such issues. I make my own dog treats and enjoy sharing them with the pets I look after, if allowed by the owner. I also do pet-friendly cakes, so let me know if you have a special event coming up! I currently have a highly flexible schedule. Dog care is already integrated into my every day life. Literally- it's almost my entire life! Reach out and let's see if I can provide what you need! I have a sweet medium sized dog in my home that will befriend yours if they want, or casually do her own thing. I happily crate dogs or give them a safe space to occupy for down time/bed time. I don't typically allow guest dogs on furniture but have ample memory foam beds across the house. I provide LOTS of engagement and exercise, and some training on request.
About: I have been around various household pets since I can remember! I grew up in a household that had several dogs and cats at one time, and even other pets like turtles, rats, hamsters, and fish. Pets are just a part of my life and I know what a vital role they play. That is why I want to help others care for their animal family members. I have been taught how to properly feed, brush & bathe dogs and cats (though bathing cats can be challenging), trim their nails safely, and clean their ears. I also know how important play time is, especially for youngsters. I currently care for a single cat who is 2 years old and is a lot of energy. On top of caring for household pets, I also have 5 years of experience caring for wildlife, such as birds and small rodents, at a rehabilitation center. There, I stuck to a strict care regimen of constant feeding, cleaning, and administering medicine. So, if you are seeking someone with a lot of pet-care experience who shares a love for animals, look no further! I am a recent graduate from Cal Poly Humboldt, so I can easily fit caring for pets into my schedule. I am currently hunting for a job, so I am very available right now. If you need me to house sit during the week, I am available to do so as long as I can leave to care for my own cat and return. I am able to provide a variety of needs to you and your pets. Their safety and health is my priority. While I cannot board pets at my apartment, I am happy to watch pets at your home! I will happily adhere to your pet's personal feeding and walking schedules. Of course, play time is a must. I am also able to take care of some simple grooming, such as brushing, bathing, trimming nails, and cleaning ears (so long as your pets are comfortable with it). If your pet requires medication, I am able to do so as long as I am given proper instructions based on your pet's needs.

“I would definitely recommend Mariah and Neil for pet sitting. Let’s face it little dogs are sometimes a little more high maintenance. They really seem to understand small dog behavior, which I appreciate! They are great communicators and are fast at responding, which is so helpful. Thank you for letting my pup stay.”

“Amanda is a wonderful dog sitter! 10/10 she’s very kind extremely communicative and even surprised me by training my puppy to lay down! I’d highly recommend sending your doggo with Amanda :) I even got great little updates and photos thought the day. I felt like my pup was in very good hands”

“Janice is a lifesaver!!! We were on our way to the redwood national park and realized that dogs are not allowed on most trails. So we had to find a sitter super last minute and she helped us out! Our dog has separation anxiety and this was the first time he didn’t miss us at all! He had so much fun playing with her dog and the other little dog she was caring for. She is very accommodating and super responsive. She also would send us pictures of our dog throughout the day! I would definitely hire her again and totally recommend her to everyone! She is an angel!”

“Krissi was awesome! I’ve had a hard time finding good sitters in this area but Krissi has been the best so far. She sent updates and was very welcoming and personable to me and my pup. I’d love to have him stay with her again!”

“Our puppy loved spending time with Amy & her animals! She was easy to get a hold of, responded quickly, and kept me updated on how she was doing. So glad to have someone so caring to take care of our baby!”
“Marlen was fantastic--responsive, a clear communicator, and obviously very experienced and knowledgable about dogs. I felt totally confident while Jade was with her that Jade was having a great time. I will definitely be a repeat client. I highly recommend Marlen.”
About: I have experience with dogs and cats, young and old, easy and "difficult". I am very adept at walking and caring for reactive dogs who can have a hard time with other dogs and/or humans, and do my best to avoid any situations that can trigger reactive behaviors. I'm also happy to help keep up any training routines, I'm pretty proficient in general dog training, but I know it always comes down to the individual dogs for what works best. I often have people remark about their pets who usually don't warm up to new people immediately taking a liking to me! I'm also totally respectful of animals who do need time to get to know new people and always meet them where they're at, so more than welcome to accommodate those who need more introduction time. I've had dogs in the family my whole life, and have lived with many cats as roommates, and I've loved them all. I've done extensive house sitting everywhere from big cities to rural areas, for periods of time as long as two months, caring for animals as well as the house and surrounding property. My schedule is very flexible so I can make sure I have plenty of time to give my full attention to your animal friends, I live in a sweet quiet neighborhood in Arcata near the bottoms that's great for regular walks, and I have a car and am happy to take pups out on more special adventures too! I always check in about what's best for each dog, and can tailor care around what their usual schedule is with walks and feeding, what kinds of play they like best, and any training routines I can help reinforce during our time together. I make sure to take extra care with reactive dogs and avoid any situations that may trigger them as best as possible.
About: I have always been an animal lover. Since my teenage years we had dogs and cats in the house. Over the last 17 years I have lived with and cared for 2 dogs and two cats. Sadly 3 of them have passed on at this point, and It's just myself and my 12 yr old husky mix Suki now. I am only employed on a very part time basis, so I have a fairly open and flexible schedule for dog walking, home visits and boarding on most weekdays, and some weekends. I have a fenced back yard perfect for pets to hang out in, and there is also a covered area in the back yard if the weather is rainy. I would also allow them inside the house, but not on furniture :). I am a very active person, I walk my own dog at least twice a day, and would be happy to walk even more with yours!
About: Dogs have been apart of my life since I was 8 years old. Personally I took care of a Boston terrier and that is the only breed that Ive worked with in my house. Other breeds that I’ve had experience with our my neighbors dogs including different types of Pitbulls and huskies. I am very comfortable with larger dog find them to be huge lovers. I am welcome to any size dog i know I can handle and take care of them based on my personal experience with my own pets and neighbors pets. My neighbors pets have been in my life longer than the Boston terrier that we got as a family dog. My family has now had three Boston terriers throughout my lifetime. I am currently a full-time Cal poly Humboldt student, but I have 1 to 2 hour breaks between most of my classes and I’m free in the evenings for dog walking throughout the day. I am currently moved out of my parents house so I don’t have any pets in my home but I have a fenced off backyard and is spacious living area if they need to stay overnight that is OK. I have plenty of places to walk right outside of my home. In the clients home I would be able to do any pet care that they may require or want such as walking be brushing. Any of the grooming that the dog me and on top of taking care of them. In the clients home I would be able to do any pet care that they may require or want such as walking be brushing. “I was so happy to find Paulina after my last Tahoe Rover friend left the area! It can be difficult to find someone without a dog themselves, and my dog LOVES people but is dog selective so we prefer her to be the only pet staying. Paulina thank you for being super flexible and having great communication and response time. Bella came back tired and happy. I will definitely be reaching out for more stays this winter and am looking forward to having you watch Bella again this weekend!”

“Mary was great! She was able to take our last minute booking and patiently worked with introducing our anxious dog to hers. She even kindly let our toddler chat with her about everything toddlers chat about (bugs he saw, how he likes the beach and halloween, letters, Spiderman, etc.) when he wanted to come pick up his pup and say hello.”

About: I've had large dogs since 1997. Currently I have 2 amazing dogs. A 3 legged great burnese, and a 1.2yr old burnese Mt. Dog. They are sweet and wonderful dogs with great manners and are super dog friendly. I also have 2 cats. Rick and Morty. They are a pair. Also very sweet and affectionate once they know you. They are indoor/outdoor 24/7 but avoid dogs. The love of my furry friends reflects who I am. I have 5 acres. This allows my dogs to mostly roam free as they stay close to home. It gives other dogs the opportunity to have a place to run around and play with other good dogs. There are also multiple leads amongst the property, as well as a gated and covered outside area if your pet isn't used to either of those situations. I spend almost all of my days working from home. So other than the occasional errand, I'm home. Otherwise, I exist for you and yours. My pets have water and food at all times. It's under a covered area so they are able to stay in the shade if they like. Otherwise my dogs are free to roam as they generally stay on the property. My property is not fenced. However with this undertaking dogs can be placed in the covered area when needed. They can be leaded if that's what you want. As well they are welcome in the house at any time. Your pets are free to relax anywhere they like. My dogs are very sweet and friendly. My 3 legged dog is not one to get to excited as he only has 3 legs. For the right dogs, my property is a paradise.
About: Hi, I’m Virgo (formerly Jeremy)! I’ve been dog sitting my friends’ dogs for about 10yrs, and working for a dog trainer for about 2yrs. (My parents tell me I’ve loved dogs my whole life, but I can only partly confirm.) A few things I like about dog sitting is discovering their personalities and learning how to interprete and anticipate their needs. I’m not intimidated by high-energy/high-intelligence dogs either! I like the challenge of keeping up with them. It also tricks me into staying active and feels less ridiculous than Zumba. 🤷🏽♂️ If there’s anything else you wanna know just ask? Uhh, this thing says I’ve gotta write 50 more words to move on so I’m just gonna keep typing stuff until the limit runs out I guess? I’m a substitute teacher, so my schedule is highly flexible! I try not to schedule subbing jobs during engagements, but they overlap seamlessly when it does happen. I live alone with a fully enclosed backyard and space for a crate if needed! I prefer to sit in the pet’s home though because I like to keep your pet’s routine and environment familiar to make them most comfortable!
About: I’ve had large & small dogs all my life and love having them at home with me & my dog Pippa who is friendly and playful. I’m currently not working so I can devote more time to dog walking and care. I can do neighborhood walks, beach walks or dog parks. I have a fenced back yard & a friendly dog to keep your dog company. I have 2 different sized dog crates and can use those if needed and lots of toys.

About: My farm store experience and lifelong animal-raising background, combined with insights from seasoned pet professionals, set me apart as a uniquely qualified, compassionate pet sitter. Balancing school and raising two sons, I cherish pet sitting as a flexible way to care for animals, complementing my existing animal-care routine and nurturing nature. I care for all animals like they're mine, providing a safe environment, while being respectful of property, rules, and requirements, ensuring a stress-free experience, always.
About: I take care of many dogs and have had them at my house or stay at their owner’s house. Either way I am very comfortable with all sorts of animals. I have taken care of goats to bunnies, dogs in diapers and some in wheelchairs with love and expertise and compassion. I am currently not working and have lots of love and time for your fur babies. Dogs bring me a lot of joy. I also really love walking so I can exercise your dogs anytime. I have a fenced yard and lots of space for animals. I also have a corral if the dog needs to be locked us at night.

About: I have experience working at a vet office, and worked dogsitting overnights and drop ins throughout my college career. I've had animals my whole life, including dogs, cats, reptiles, fish, and even horses, but I have a special place in my heart for dogs, and have one of my own who is one of the loves of my life! I'm happy to drop in multiple times per day around my work schedule (I work from home 9am-5pm) and I have an hour lunch which I use to visit dogs (or really any other animals) on my lunchtime rounds. If your dog needs help learning to socialize, my dog may be the perfect match, he is very easygoing and always eager to make a new friend. We go to the dog park frequently and he is used to playing with small dogs as well as some bigger breeds. I have experience with animals large and small, and I have a horse so giant breeds are still a breeze. I'd love to meet you and your pets! I have an open schedule for drop in visits and walks, and am available most weekends. Whether you are looking for a daily dog walker or a vacation sitter, I can help. I believe each pet requires an individual approach so that they are comfortable and happy during our visits. I strive to figure out what the pet needs to feel comfortable early on during our meet and greets so that I can keep them healthy and happy while you’re gone.

“Kristin was very punctual and responsible. She noted every detail of their walk, including pee and poop stops. She was observant enough to alert me to possible ailments stemming from their walk like, sore paws or a rash from where their harness rubs. She noted that one of our girls peed more than normal. Knowing this, I can call a vet to have her checked out. I would highly recommend Krissi to anyone who needs a dog walker or sitter. I'm definitely planning on hiring her again.”

“Our dog Mango absolutely loved his time with Sunny. When we arrived to pick him up after our vacation, he was so busy playing that he barely noticed when we arrived. We loved that he was never left alone and that Sunny sent us so many pictures and videos of him playing and enjoying himself. We will absolutely be using this service again!”
