“We had such a wonderful experience with Kathy! She took excellent care of our two small dogs over the weekend, and we couldn't be happier with the care they received. Kathy kept us updated with beautiful photos and regular updates, which really put our minds at ease. It was clear that she genuinely loves animals and provided them with the best care possible. About: Dogs have been a central part of my life for more than 10 years. I’m the owner of Furbal Remedies and have years of experience supporting dogs with anxiety, allergies, digestive sensitivities, mobility concerns, special diets, supplements, and medications. I understand how important consistency and attention to detail are, especially for pets with unique needs. My goal is always to help your pet feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. I work part-time and have a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide dependable care throughout the week. Whether your pet needs a daily walk, a midday check-in, vacation care, or extra attention while you’re away, I’ll do my best to accommodate your routine. I believe consistency helps pets feel secure, so I strive to keep their schedule as close to normal as possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, feeding schedule, medications, and any special instructions so they receive the same thoughtful care they’re used to at home. I’ll always treat your home with respect, provide regular updates and photos, and make sure you have peace of mind while you’re away. For first-time clients, I prefer a quick Meet & Greet with you and your dog before their first booking whenever scheduling allows. It gives us a chance to meet, go over their routine, and make sure everyone feels comfortable before their first visit.

About: Raised on a cattle ranch, I have had experience with animals large and small my whole life. I joined Rover about a few years ago, shortly after my 120 pound lab of 9 years passed away, I wanted to be able to be around dogs and be able to be active by going on hikes and out to dog beach, but wasn't quite ready to bring to a new puppy into my life. I have house sat for many clients over the years: friends, co-workers & students families. I love to go on long walks, am comfortable administering medication if needed & providing lots of love for your dear furry friend(s). It’s been 7 years since I brought my lab puppy Pilot home & he absolutely loves having other dogs come to stay and/or join in on our daily adventures. Since covid hit he especially loves that I am a work from home dog mom now and we take a considerable amount of additional walks/hikes/bike rides each day. I would welcome anyone who is looking for Daily walks/adventures as well as longer term pet sitting to reach out as I would love to watch your furry friends. My dog Pilot would love to meet more friends to play with. Please note: I am unable to accommodate pets with any type of aggressive tendencies. I work full time from home, so your pet will be cared for and with the company of myself and my lab for their entire stay. I have a huge property with a doggie door and live near a variety of trails and lakes that can be accessed right out our door for our exercising adventures

Skiers and Snowboarders, drop them for the day with confidence in my expertise. Your dog is the foundation of my routine. I love to work, and cherish the opportunity to provide my high level services for your dog so that you can enjoy your time without them. All dogs get extra love in the mornings, and structure during walks. Assuming our dogs get along I’ll let them play. “Jessica was an amazing Rover for our puppy. We dropped her off in the morning at Jessica’s home and picked her up after a day of skiing during our week at Northstar. Jessica was super flexible and very easy to communicate with. She even walked down to the main road to get phoebe when her small street was nearly snowed in. Very accommodating and kind!”

I highly recommend Nayla if you have an active dog and are looking for someone to give them the attention, exercise and love they need while in someone else’s care.”

About: Hello! I'm a highly experienced and dedicated dog sitter with a lifelong passion for animals. What sets me apart from other dog sitters is my commitment to providing personalized, high-quality care for each and every dog in my charge. I have many years of experience working with dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments, and I have a deep understanding of their unique needs and behaviors. I am trained in positive reinforcement methods and force-free handling, which allows me to build strong, trusting relationships with the dogs in my care. In addition to my general dog sitting skills, I have specialized expertise in several areas. For example, I have extensive experience working with senior dogs and am skilled in providing the extra care and attention they require. I am also knowledgeable about common senior dog health issues and can administer medications and monitor their health as needed. Another area of expertise is dog training. I am certified in basic obedience and have worked with many dogs to help them learn basic commands, improve their manners, and increase their confidence. I use positive reinforcement methods to train dogs, which means that I reward them for good behavior rather than punishing them for bad behavior. This approach is not only more effective, but it is also less stressful for the dog and builds a stronger bond between the dog and the owner. Overall, I am a highly skilled and dedicated dog sitter who is committed to providing the best possible care for your furry friend. Whether you have a young, energetic puppy or a senior dog with special needs, I have the experience, knowledge, and compassion to ensure that they are happy, healthy, and well-cared for while you are away. I am an independent business consultant so work my own days and hours. It allows me all the time to take care of your dog while you are gone. Proper pet care involves providing a safe and comfortable environment, nutritious food and fresh water, regular exercise, and routine veterinary check-ups. At home, this means keeping pets away from harmful substances, ensuring they have a cozy place to sleep, and spending quality time with them. When caring for pets in client's homes, I follow their specific instructions while ensuring basic needs are met. I also observe and report any changes in the pet's behavior or health to the owner. Overall, responsible pet care fosters a strong bond between the pet and caregiver, promoting the pet's well-being and happiness.
“We hired Gissell to watch our dog, Gigi, on our wedding night. She responded to our initial inquiry almost immediately, and was very accommodating of our special requests. Gissell met us the day before our wedding to make sure that Gigi was comfortable in her home and to go over her nighttime schedule. We arranged for Gissell to pick Gigi up from our wedding venue, hang out with her for a few hours, and then drop her off at our place later in the evening. We highly recommend Gissell if you are looking for a reliable, professional, and kind dog sitter that goes above and beyond for your fur baby.”

“Sarah was wonderful! My husband and I were visiting the Lake Tahoe area for our anniversary and needed a doggy sitter for our miniature Australian Shepherd, Jack. Jack is a very shy dog with new people. Sarah was very understanding and patient with him and ended up winning his heart.”

“We rebooked with Donna for our summer visit after a wonderful experience during a winter visit to the Tahoe area. Our dogs had a wonderful time and Donna is easy to coordinate with, highly communicative when the dogs are with her and, most importantly, very caring of the dogs. Highly recommended!”

About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I raised a Beagle (Billy) from puppyhood and proudly attended dog training classes with him (Billy and I both learned alot !) I've also had the joy of rescuing Summer, a gorgeous ex-show dog Golden Retriever, who was by my side for 13 years. After that was Bammer, an Alaskan Husky Lab mix. He was my adventure buddy, and always kept me on my toes! Besides my own dogs, I've had lots of experience caring for my friends' dogs while they are travelling, so have been able to adapt to all kinds of personalities, temperaments and levels of energy. The silver lining is that I currently have no pets of my own, which means your dog will get all the love, attention, belly rubs, walks, playtime, and couch cuddles they can handle. Whether your pup is an energetic explorer, a pro napper, or somewhere in between, they'll be treated like part of the familly. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else, and my goal is simple: to make sure they're happy, safe, loved, and maybe just a little spoiled while you're away. 🐾 I work from home and have a flexible schedule, allowing for plenty of attention, potty breaks, and playtime throughout the day. I also love getting outside for neighborhood walks, so your pup will get lots of fresh air, exercise, and cuddles. I have a fully fenced yard for safe play and potty breaks, and dogs are welcome inside the home as part of the family. I'll follow your pet's routine and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed while in my care.

“Lindi was awesome. Highly recommended. Punctual, responsible, and trustworthy. She was flexible with changing booking times at the last minute which was great. She was mindful of locking all the door locks behind her which I thought was a nice touch. Although my poor, scared rescue always hid, Lindi tried her best to coax her but to no avail. Lindi sent me pictures of her hiding in the corner and it would make me giggle. Will hire Lindi again once my rescue gets more confident. THANK YOU, Lindi!”

“Could not have been a better experience! Our puppy dog Tito was treated as family during the course of his stay. Andrea was amazing at letting me know he was doing ok and I think Tito has found a new best friend with Henry! Thank you all so very much !!!”

About: My dog recently passed away at the age of 16, so I am just trying to get my doggy fixes in. I would love if they could join me for a run or hike. I currently work full time at an office M-F but come home for lunch for an hour. But I can guarantee a morning, lunch and evening walk (or activity) I live in an adu apartment but have a big open backyard and don’t mind pets on furniture if you don’t mind them on furniture.
About: Hello, I am a local who lives full time in Tahoe City. I've been a pet owner with both dogs and cats for the last 30+years. I am a mother of two grown children that are now off away at school. I work at the local elementary school with young children of special needs. I am a fun, caring and loving person who loves both animals and humans. I don't have any pets living with me so your pet would be the only one I would be caring for. I am free to take care of your pet most days, nights and some weekends. I work from home during the summer months so my schedule is always flexible. I currently live in a condo down the street from Lake Tahoe. There are numerous parks at the lake as well as many hiking trails to walk your dog at that are close by my place. I will always walk your dogs on a leash unless otherwise informed by owner to let run free in the woods and trails. I am very safe and responsible.
“Aaron and Nicole always take exceptional care of my Bernese Mountain dog Jelly. I can always rest knowing that my Jelly is in great hands. Jelly always looks so happy when I pick him up from a weekend stay.”

“Our very anxious dog had the most wonderful time with Susan and her family! They gave her lots of love and took great care of her. Susan sent adorable pictures of our dog, who made herself right at home. I highly recommend Susan for boarding! We will be back for sure!”

“Cody & Emily are great! They went above and beyond with caring for my pup. Easy communication. Great updates throughout the stay. And their home is clean, spacious and beautiful. All together, the experience was comfortable and easy. I felt very secure my pup was in good hands 💗.”

“Melanie took great care of my dogs and dropped them off before we arrived! She was lovely to communicate with and my dogs seemed happy and healthy when we got him. Her place on the hill with the fenced in area looked lovely for the dogs. Will definitely use Melanie again!”

“Nayla has been great with our pup. I always get great pictures and reports on how he’s doing. They go for lots of walks and he comes home happy! She’s always flexible when she can be and has been great to work with. Nayla will definitely stay on our short list of people to trust our dog with!”

“Kat was a great dog sitter. She sent some pictures while I was away. I needed an extra night and they were accommodating which I really appreciate. I will use them again.”

“Our yellow lab had a great time at Danielle’s for the day. She had a large yard he could run around in and he loved being able to go on her bed. Thank you Danielle!”

“I've never felt so comfortable leaving my dog's in someone's care than I did with Susan and her family. Absolutely top notch people and excellent communicators. My oldest dog had a nagging injury and needed to have his activity limited and I returned home from my vacation to his improved health. My only fear is that as travel opens up again Susan will be unavailable next time I need her! Thank you again!”

“Faith was able to care for our dog overnight and she seemed to be happy with the pictures we saw while gone and upon pick up the next day. This was her first overnight stay without family caring for her.”

“I felt so comfortable leaving Mila with Brad knowing she was in the best hands! He went the extra mile to make sure she had a great time and shared plenty of pics, videos, and screenshots of their walks every day. I really appreciate that this wasn’t a big boarding house experience like I’ve seen in the past; Brad provides the attention, love, and adventures that make it feel like a second family and home for your pet.”

“Beezie usually is a little shy with new people. I dropped her off and she ran to Hallie like she knew her. I got updates and pictures of Beezie when asked. She did really well and I had such a piece of mind knowing she was being taken care of so well as this was my first time leaving her with someone other then a friend or family. 100% would book again with Hallie.”

“Shannon and David provided excellent care for my puppy! Their dog Brian was just the sweetest and great at helping with socialization and playtime. I appreciated their communication, and Zuri came back as happy as can be.”
