In our home we had four dogs, two hamsters, a corn snake, a half-blind horse, countless hermit crabs, and a parakeet. There is truly no animal I don't love and won't do my best to care for. I am comfortable walking all types of dogs, playing, boarding, and making them happy :) I work 3 days a week, the other 4 days I use for marathon training, working on supply chain projects, meal prepping, being active, and traveling around California when able. I've dog and house sat multiple times for friends who live in Davis. It’s always been a great experience as I find walking and hanging out with dogs to be a good way of decompressing from classes. I currently have more flexibility in my academic schedule, so I'm open for short or long term pet and house sitting. If you think I may be a good fit, please feel free to reach out. I'm currently helping in a lab on UCD, but my timing is flexible. I can easily work pet and house sitting into my schedule. My current living situation doesn't allow for me to have pets. When it comes to caring for a pet in their home I would follow the existing routines and refer to how the owner cares for their pet. I am a firm believer that it's far less stressful for a dog or cat to be able to stay home while their owner is out of town.
About: **I don't charge for additional pets!! I’ve always been an animal enthusiast growing up in the country I did whatever I could to be around animals constantly. In our home we had four dogs, two hamsters, a corn snake, a half-blind horse, countless hermit crabs, and a parakeet. There is truly no animal I don't love and won't do my best to care for. Growing up with these animals I've had the privilege to be there when they were puppies/kittens/babies all the way through the end of their life, so I have extensive experience with care in every life stage. I've carried that love and passion with me into adulthood. As an adult I've worked for a year as a kennel technician at a humane society enriching, socializing, training, and advocating for dogs, cats, and small animals. I also regularly volunteer time at humane societies when I can and regularly foster cats, to date I've successfully fostered over 10 cats who are now all in happy homes. Through fostering I've experienced some harder care cases. Including fostering 3 week old sick kittens requiring syringe feedings, multiple medications, and detailed weight tracking. I've also had the privilege of fostering a hospice case who required food, liquid, and medication administration through an e-tube along with extensive monitoring. No matter what kind of care your pet needs I will do my best to ensure they receive the love, respect, and attention they deserve. I look forward to helping you and your furry (and maybe scaly) family members! I'm avaliable for drop-ins, boarding, and walking M-F after 2:30 PM! I can also do breakfast drop-ins during the week between 5:00-5:30 AM, or earlier if need be. I'm open and available most weekends for all pet care, I keep my schedule updated 3 months out! If you want to book further than 3 months just send me a message and I'm happy to work with you! My top priority is making sure your pet feels comfortable and safe. Each visit, walk, or stay is individual and entirely customizable for your pet. “Clyde was boarded for a week with Kathleen on New Years while we were out of town! She did an amazing job keeping us informed on how he was doing and sent lots of pictures throughout the trip! She was very vigilant in asking us how we have trained Clyde and what we do to curve some of his bad habits; she used the same training techniques that we use so it wouldn’t confuse Clyde. Kathleen also has her own pup (Honey) who played with Clyde the whole week. He came home super tired and beat (which is rare for him). The following days after his visit were also a joy because he still listened and followed most of our commands/routines. Usually when we leave him at my moms, he comes home and acts differently (bad) because she lets him get away with so much. Overall, Kathleen did a great job with Clyde and we will definitely be having him boarded with her and Honey again!”

About: I am currently a student at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine to become a vet! I have had pets at home since elementary school including dogs, cats, and chickens.
