About: I've shared my home with two to four dogs since coming to LA 15 years ago. Because I work from home, your pup gets a calm, dog-savvy human nearby all day — frequent yard breaks, play, and belly rubs instead of hours alone. I'm comfortable with puppies, seniors, medications, and high-energy dogs. I feel time together and attention is what bonds both humans and dogs, and seeing them go from anxious and confused to a happy member of "the pack" is one of the more rewarding parts of taking care of them, so I prefer stays long or frequent enough for your pup to feel at home with me and in my home, but I'm also always willing to cover a tight spot or step in for a day of daycare. I work from home on a flexible schedule, so your dog has company and supervision for the entire day — regular walks, play, and potty breaks, not long stretches alone. I offer boarding and daycare and take only up to three dogs at a time, and mostly for medium to long term boarding, so it's a calm environment without a ton of new dogs coming and going. I'm glad to keep your dog's normal routine for meals, walks, naps, and bedtime. I always mark as unavailable any days I have travel or major time commitments that will keep me away from home for more than an hour or two, so they will have constant care while they're here. Your dog will have free range of my 3 bedroom home, detached studio, and very large, securely fenced backyard full of fruit trees. I don't have pets of my own right now, so your pup gets the whole space and my full attention. I'm happy to crate or set up a quiet separate area if that's what your dog is used to, and I keep things calm and low-stress. My space is easily partitioned to allow dogs to eat, nap, or hang out alone in peace if that's what they prefer. I have a doggy door for dogs who like to let themselves in/out at their leisure. (it's about 50/50 whether they figure it out and make use of it lol) I converted our detached 2 car garage into a recording studio, where I work, so we have the quietest place in town in the event we have to make it through fireworks or if your pet prefers quiet or isolation. Both the house and studio have their own separate HVAC systems, so they'll definitely stay comfortable. I don't generally use kennels or crates, but if your dog prefers or is used to using one, by all means bring it along. I have always slept with my own dogs, so happy to co-sleep with yours if that's what they're used to, but also glad to maintain whatever rules you generally set for them in regard to being on beds/furniture. I have found even "reactive" and "solitary" dogs very quickly acclimate to a more social environment (it usually only takes 3-4 hours) and I never leave them together unsupervised until they're demonstrating clear friendliness to each other. Many dog parents bring their pups over just for this kind of socialization, and it's great to watch a dog that "hates all other dogs" running and playing in the yard with the group after snarling at everyone just a few hours before.

If I am able to sit for your dog, I will be working from home. However, I am not available everyday. This is why I recommend planning in advance for my availability. About: Thanks for checking out my profile! Worried about your fur babies safety and care when your not home? Don’t worry I've been around dogs since I was a kid. I grew up around chihuahuas, huskies, pomeranian mixes, shiba inus, Korean Jindo dogs, cats, fishes, and more. Spending time with all of these breeds I have ample experience bathing, walking, and feeding our pets. Fun fact about me: I also graduated from UCSD with a B.S. in human biology and a minor in environmental systems. Two years ago, I adopted an adolescent 3 year old cat from a local shelter and have been caring for him ever since. He is a rambunctious kitty and I have learned fun and creative ways to get him to exercise and stay fairly fit. Just 7 months ago, I adopted my first personal dog, Luna a 1.5 year old puppy from Korea. Under my guidance and training, I've learned that she is incredibly talented and picks up tricks and skills so quickly. For example, I trained her to jump on rocks, benches, etc... on command, she can differentiate the differences between sit-pretty and stand on her hind legs. Basic commands like sit, down, stay, paw, spin, come, etc... I take her on multiple hour long walks every day, and would love the opportunity to spend time and dedicated care with your fur babies as well! I would love to dedicate my time to caring for your pets, either through long walks or pet check-ins, because they deserve to be well looked after while their parents are away from home. WHAT TO EXPECT: I will arrive 5-10 minutes early and get your dog ready for a walk. Your dog will get a full 30-minute (or 60-minute) walk. Then I'll drop your dog off at home, refill their water, and give any last-minute pets for 5 minutes. Rover cards and pictures will be shared once the walk is complete :D During the walk with your dog, I will always: 1. Ensure provided equipment and leashes are safe and secure to use (as well as bring my own in case of emergencies) 2. Ensure your dog's favorite treats are in my training pouch before the walk 3. Provide ample water for your pet during/after their walk 4. Scan and be observant of my surroundings to ensure your dog's safety 5. Cross the street to avoid any on-leash greetings or off-leash dogs During the pet (30-minute) check-ins with your pet, I will always: 1. Spend 5 minutes carefully entering your home and kindly greeting your pet with their favorite treat 2. Take them on a 10-minute potty break outside if needed 3. Spend 10 minutes playing with them inside your home 4. Spend the last 5 minutes giving any last-minute cuddles and love as I can More time will be spent loving your pet for a 60-minute check-in!

Being retired gives me the flexibility to make pet care a meaningful part of my day. My schedule is open and flexible, which allows me to provide reliable, unhurried walks and drop-in visits throughout the day. I enjoy having a routine and getting out for walks, so spending time with pets is a perfect fit. I can give each pet the individual attention they need rather than rushing through a visit, and I’m happy to work with their usual feeding, walking, and care routines. When caring for pets in someone’s home, I treat both the pets and the home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I follow each pet’s routine and instructions carefully, making sure they have fresh water, attention, exercise, and plenty of affection. I’m also respectful of your home, keeping things clean and secure and making sure everything is as you left it. I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust, and I take that responsibility seriously.
About: Back home in Atlanta, GA, I cared for our family's dogs that lived to ten and fifteen years old, with our youngest dog turning fourteen this year. From walks on the leash, to fenced yard time, to cleaning indoor accidents, every animal deserves the care needed to live a happy, healthy life. Now, residing in LA County, I'm on year two of taking care of my rescue kitty. She is friendly but can always be kept in a separate room for guests' comfort. I live in a quiet neighborhood with safe, walkable sidewalks and have an in-unit balcony for fresh air in between walks! As a professional actor & NBA dancer, my work schedule varies each week. I feel most grounded when I schedule daily walks or park time for myself and would love a furry companion to enjoy the fresh air with! In addition to the entertainment industry, I work a remote job that brings hip hop dance programming to youth in underserved communities. These flexible hours allow room for pet care at various hours throughout the day, so I may continue working towards my passions whilst ensuring the best care for your pet. In my home, I have an in-unit balcony that allows dogs to get fresh air in between walks. The large windows and cat hammock overlooking the balcony make for a great view as well. The unit has plenty of open space with no fragile items/furniture accessible to pets. Just outside of my apartment building is a quiet, walkable sidewalk for leashed walks.
“Dean is great. My dog was in love at our meet in greet before the first walk. I really appreciate that Dean took the time to come over the day before to meet me and my dog and connect with my dog before that first walk. The day of the first walk it was really hot and my dog just wasn’t having it. She kept heading home. It meant a lot that Dean read my dog’s energy and didn’t push her to go the full hour walk. Will be booking Dean again. Highly recommend.”

She took absolutely exceptional care of my super senior Indy, handling tummy upset, medications, and even coordinating with a friend who picked up Indy for an impromptu vet visit while I was out of town. She also took exceptional care of Tato, who has a traumatic background and is still figuring out to be a dog and how to be social with other dogs. Tato blossomed under her care, cuddling with another dog for the first time during a nap and playing with other pups in her yard. She TRULY cares for dogs like they are her own, takes the cutest and most amazing pictures, and provides regular updates on their activities and care. “Jake loved staying with Kiyomi and we highly recommend her. She went above and beyond with bellyrubs and lots of attention to make sure he felt at ease while we were away. Communication was excellent as we received several photos per day of them going on walks or chilling at home. It was clear she wanted to make Jake feel as comfortable as possible from prioritizing his stairs to get on the bed to leaving one of our shirts out for him to lay on. She also offered to pick him up before our flight, which was a huge help! We will definitely be reaching back out next time we need someone to watch Jake. * I also wanted to note that our review here is a genuine 5 star review. I am pretty picky about who we leave Jake with and have left him with other sitters in LA in the past who had lots of 5 star ratings that I felt were not deserved but I had the opposite experience with Kiyomi who outperformed our expectations. Given our lackluster experience with dog sitters in LA in the past we were a bit apprehensive about leaving Jake but Kiyomi materially allayed those fears and we will definitely be reaching out again next time we go away as Jake was in very good hands.”
“Athene was so great with my new rescue dog Coco. We just adopted her a few months ago and are still getting to know her but had a camping trip planned and couldn't take her on any of the hikes so we needed boarding. Athene lives right in the neighborhood and we set up a meet & greet. Coco was immediately at ease in her space, even with lots of dogs barking behind another door. Athene's temperament is very soothing and confident and the dogs respond to her well. Coco spent 2 nights with her and we got regular updates via photos & videos. Coco apparently demonstrated some resource guarding behavior which Athene handled like a champ by feeding her separately. She let me know about everything as soon as I picked up Coco, which was really helpful as we're still getting to know her ourselves so every little bit of information we can get about her personality & habits helps. Overall, I felt Athene was a super capable boarder and will absolutely use her again!”

About: I’ve cared for the dogs and cats of many friends and family, including my own 16 year old deaf & blind yorkie. I love all animals, and am experienced in caring for disabled pets, anxious pets, and those with lots and lots of energy. I’m currently a student in medical school, so I spend lots of time studying - perfect for home visits where I can run through my flashcards in the company of a furry friend! I also love walking around the neighborhood and going on hikes with the pets I care for! I am experienced in working with prescription diets, special needs animals, and pets of all ages. The doggy door lets them come and go freely, and we’re located near walking trails, so they’ll get plenty of exercise during their stay.
