“Our dog, Stan, does not easily warm up to people outside our family. We adopted him when he was 8 weeks old, and while he is well-socialized with other dogs, he remains very timid around new people. Before boarding Stan with Kimmy and Jesse, we had used the same sitter on two separate occasions, each for a week. During those stays, Stan always hid under her coffee table and never let her get close to him. However, with Kimmy and Jesse, the experience was completely different. On day four, Kimmy sent us pictures of herself petting Stan—a huge milestone for him. By day five, she was even able to take him on a walk around the neighborhood. Day by day, Stan grew more comfortable in their care. Seeing our timid dog so well cared for made us incredibly happy! We couldn’t have asked for a more caring couple or a more loving environment to board Stan. We are so grateful and look forward to boarding him with them on our upcoming spring break!”

About: I love cats and everything about them!! Out of all 8 of my fur babies 7 of them are cats! And I have one dog that thinks she’s a cat sometimes and tries to play with my cats if they let her. I’ve always been extremely big on treating your dogs/ animals right. The way you treat your animals will reflect in their behavior and nothing makes me happier than seeing my dog being so gentle and nice to my cats. She nurtured one of my kittens and they became very close it’s the sweetest thing! I recently rescued my first adult cat and take him with me wherever I go when necessary. I’m confident in my experience with both indoor and outdoor cats now because of him!

About: I spent time as a SPCA cat socializer with perfectly healthy kitties and some with significant health needs. We were expected to keep them company whether energetic kitten, disconnected and scared cat or even sick cats being treated. I’d play with the ones that wanted to play, sit with the shy ones and learn how to properly read their behavior and respond appropriately to get them more comfortable with humans. I raised my own cat who was a pretty easy going one from the get go. I make sure the pets have food and water. I've trained my current and past dogs (sit, stay, go home, come, leave it, look at me, and other commands). I am responsible and clean up after the animals whether it's poop or vomit. Furry animals make me happy. I'm extroverted, so I am also social and easy to communicate with. I can care for your pet as long as I'm available. I've a flexible work schedule, and am on holiday for two weeks starting the week of Christmas. I have a cat and dog that likes to run out of the door, so I am careful when going in and out of the house. I'd do the same for you. I make sure they've food and water. If the dog goes on a hike where there are tall grass, then I'd check for ticks after the walk and use a tweezer to remove the tick if needed. If the cat or dog has its tail between its legs, then I'd approach slowly and walk around them to not make them too uncomfortable. If the cat's tail is up and approaches, then I give him/her a scratch on the head or chin. If dog's tail is wagging, then I'd definitely pet him/her. If the pet has dietary restrictions, then I will follow the owner's dietary guideline.
About: I had 3 small dogs when I was younger and they passed away due to old. I currently have two dogs, one is pit bull and husky mixed and a puppy Yorkie tierrier. About: I've been a large dog owner for most of my life, but I love dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. Ready to meet the unique needs of every pup, and I come with some basic pet training experience. While I'm here for the summer (May-July), I have complete flexibility throughout the week and weekend. I have no qualms taking them out early in the morning or later at night (around 7AM-10PM depending on the location). Although I'm based in Palo Alto, I am more than willing to cycle or drive to locations throughout the peninsula! I'm most experienced offering the basic services of walks (usually several a day, can range anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour depending on the needs of the dog), feeding, and playing in the yard or at the dog park. I'm also comfortable with basic training, washing, and watching them overnight. While I wouldn't be able to bring any dogs to my own home, I am more than happy to house sit and stay with them overnight.

More recently, I brought home a French Bulldog, and it’s been such a joy watching him grow from a tiny puppy into the sweet, fun 1-year-old he is now! I do have a lot of virtual calls so I cannot usually do last minute walks but can plan around my day! I am completely free after 3:30 PM everyday. About: Over the years I’ve noticed that I can’t think of a single bad experience that I’ve had with cats/dogs. Pretty much every single animal I have crossed paths with has grown comfortable with me if not immediately. I think maybe it’s the way I approach animals, im always talking to them like they’re humans for some reason and it almost seems like they can understand me. And I like to tell myself I can understand them and their silent expressions. This is what draws me to animals so much. That silent understanding and comfort is what makes me love animals so much. I’m currently on summer break while working 2 part time jobs, one is a weekend job only at a pottery shop called color me mine and on top of that I work as an assistant for a home stager! My schedule with her isn’t consistent so I’m looking for one more flexible job. Unfortunately I’m living in a pretty small studio while I study interior design. Because of that I had to leave my pets at home and I decided to rescue an indoor cat in need of a safe home. I got him a window perch which he loves to watch cats and birds on. And every day I make sure to leave my front door open for him so he can watch from the screen with some fresh air. I’ve actually tried to get him outdoors a few times on a harness so he could get familiar with the area but since it’s kind of a busy area the sounds were freaking him out. He loves being pet and snuggling up under my blanket so I give him as much affection as I can throughout the day even if that means I go through endless amounts of lint rollers to get all his hair off of me!! I love taking dogs on walks that’s the only thing I wish cats were more comfortable doing haha!
About: I've taken care of many dogs, some of which were very young, nervous, and quite untrained, and made them feel loved, relaxed, and comfortable. I am very good at getting dogs to listen to me, as I have worked with rather hectic dogs and gotten them to calm down. I have spent entire summers in Germany with my cousin's dog, walking it, feeding it, and taking general care of it. I have also taken care of multiple dogs in the same house at the same time, and can handle the needs of several pets at once. I have a very flexible schedule and can work every day of the week! I have a remote internship with a few online meetings per week, but those meetings can be attended anywhere. I like to stick to a schedule and make sure the dogs I am taking care of get walked regularly, whether that be once, twice, or even three times in a day. I also like to be consistent with feeding times and making sure that the dogs I am taking care of always have adequate water. I also always check for signs of concerning behavior. This includes making sure the dogs are at ease and not agitated. I also consistently check to make sure whether the dogs need to go outside to use the bathroom.

We had labs growing up, and some of my favorite memories are of taking them on long adventures in the woods. These days, my partner and I share our home with our sweet shepherd mix, Ozzy. I’ve spent the last eight years caring for dogs while I lived all over the country. This is my first time on Rover, and I’m excited to build meaningful relationships with both pets and their people. We live in a beautiful, pet-friendly apartment with a secure back courtyard and quick access to local parks for playtime and walks. Your pet will be treated like family—safe, loved, and happy while you're away. For boarding and daycare requests, I will be joined by my own dog Ozzy. About: I’m an experienced dog sitter who had just relocated from San Francisco. I regularly watched a dog 3 times a week and can take up to 2 dogs at once. I've helped take care of my parents dog for 8 years since she was a puppy and I take her to the beach, for walks, to play at the dog park, and bathe her regularly. I work until 3pm so I have plenty of time in the afternoon to take pups out for walks. I love meeting new dogs and am used to high energy dogs. I am very comfortable around dogs and want your dog to be happy. I am very clean and want to be considerate of your space.
About: I live with my wife, baby girl, cat, and dog in Palo Alto. At home, I am the CPO (chief poop officer). I've experience with administering flea medicine for cats and dogs. I make sure the pets have food and water. I've trained my current and past dogs (sit, stay, go home, come, leave it, look at me, and other commands). I am responsible and clean up after the animals whether it's poop or vomit. Furry animals make me happy. I'm extroverted, so I am also social and easy to communicate with. I can care for your pet as long as I'm available. I've a flexible work schedule, and am on holiday for two weeks starting the week of Christmas. I have a cat and dog that likes to run out of the door, so I am careful when going in and out of the house. I'd do the same for you. I make sure they've food and water. If the dog goes on a hike where there are tall grass, then I'd check for ticks after the walk and use a tweezer to remove the tick if needed. If the cat or dog has its tail between its legs, then I'd approach slowly and walk around them to not make them too uncomfortable. If the cat's tail is up and approaches, then I give him/her a scratch on the head or chin. If dog's tail is wagging, then I'd definitely pet him/her. If the pet has dietary restrictions, then I will follow the owner's dietary guideline.
About: I am taking a break from work and have the time to house sit and check in as well as board. I have done Rover for a few years now and have worked at dog boarding facilities. I am able to walk your fur babies in the morning and in the evening. I have experience with medication and injections for whom are needed. I have starting training experience and hope to learn more while watching my fur child Ruffles grow and enjoy life. It is true that Each pet has his/her own characteristics, so I try to find way to connect and gain there trust in anyway I can. I understand all pets have different characteristics and I will do everything possible to get to know your pet. I understood pets are a huge part of our familyand that is how they will be treated with love, understanding and compassion. Pets are truly men's best friend, and one that is always there to make our life so much exciting and fun. I can say at the moment I am able to fit any pet into mine and my own pet’s routine! Ruffles gets along with children , any size 🐶 dog and adults! I am trying to board only one pet at a time with my own pet at home just to be in the safer side. However, once your pet is at my home, he or she becomes part of the family instantly. They are allowed on top of furniture. My Ruffles is a non-caged dog but I do own a cage.

“Our dog, Stan, does not easily warm up to people outside our family. We adopted him when he was 8 weeks old, and while he is well-socialized with other dogs, he remains very timid around new people. Before boarding Stan with Kimmy and Jesse, we had used the same sitter on two separate occasions, each for a week. During those stays, Stan always hid under her coffee table and never let her get close to him. However, with Kimmy and Jesse, the experience was completely different. On day four, Kimmy sent us pictures of herself petting Stan—a huge milestone for him. By day five, she was even able to take him on a walk around the neighborhood. Day by day, Stan grew more comfortable in their care. Seeing our timid dog so well cared for made us incredibly happy! We couldn’t have asked for a more caring couple or a more loving environment to board Stan. We are so grateful and look forward to boarding him with them on our upcoming spring break!”

About: I’ve owned dogs my entire life (at one point we had 5 at time!) love taking them for long walks, teaching them new tricks like weave (and handstand!), and engaging their minds with agility. My senior dog recently passed and while I am not ready to get a new dog just yet, I miss having a dog so want to occasionally dog sit to help others out with their dogs before getting another dog of my own. I work full time but occasionally work from home. For this reason, Thursday to Sunday or Monday is best for me. I am active and love going on walks, hikes, and runs in and around the beautiful Portola Valley neighborhood. I love to hang on the couch and snuggle in the evenings! Dogs (non shedding) allowed on the bed :) My large backyard is fenced. My husband Dave and I often are asked by friends to help train their dogs because we love to help and are good at it! :)
