“Our puppy absolutely loves Kelly. He is always so happy to see her and hang out with her. She is excellent about paying attention to detail and has such a warm and loving demeanor with our dog. Our family feels very much at ease when our pup is in her care! She is also great about sending many photos, videos and updates on their walks, feeding, naps and adventures!”

“Sherry is an AMAZING dog sitter!! I trusted her to care for my sweet but nervous 50lb girl, Ellie, and I could not have asked for a better sitter. Sherry was so thorough, she sent plenty of updates throughout and put me at ease! She was super responsive to my dog’s needs, and I could see Ellie just melting and falling in love with her through the updates. She’s got a lovely, clean and safe apartment and she is obviously someone who knows dogs well. I would trust Sherry with dog sitting ANY day! Highly recommend.”

“Shannon was great at taking care of Roo during my trip. She was responsive, flexible with pick-up and drop-off times—which was helpful after some last-minute work meetings—sent adorable photos and videos, and made sure everything was okay. Roo had a wonderful time in her beautiful backyard during his stay.”

“Lee was great. She sent us pictures each day and kept us updated on our pups. She was quick to respond and you can tell she totally loves dogs! We felt totally comfortable leaving our dogs with her for a long weekend and we will definitely rebook with her.”

“Thank you Megan & Jenny! I needed to board my dog for one night with short notice and Megan & Jenny were able to board him. They responded quickly to my request and communicated with texts and photos during my dog's stay. My dog looked happy and it seems like he was well cared for. I will be contacting Megan & Jenny again for dog sitting and boarding.”

“Hy and Arlo are so lovely and took such good care of our dog. He stayed with them for a week and he had a great time. We will definitely ask them to watch our boy again!”

“Baxter had a great first stay with Kristen and Ryan! He took advantage of various comfy lounging spots in their home as well as sunbathing in their backyard. Baxter was in great shape when I returned. Kristin and Ryan are very friendly and kind, and their communications were clear throughout. I received updates with pictures at least once a day, as requested. I greatly appreciated their flexibility to extend Baxter's stay a bit and coordinate a different pickup arrangement when my trip plans changed. I would certainly book with them again!”

“Chad and his family are amazing! Chad was understanding and communicative throughout the Rover process. His place is truly a property filled with trees and plenty of backyard space for your pup to run and sniff around. Chad is a true professional when it comes to dog sitting, knowing the dogs he cares for very well. He also seems to be a very down-to-earth person that goes the extra mile to be sure your questions are answered and you feel comfortable leaving your furbaby in his care. THANK YOU CHAD & FAM for TLC you showed my family on a holiday weekend. I couldn't have had a better first experience with a Rover sitter. =)”

“Matthew & VJ took excellent care of my little cuddle bug Roux. He was actually smiling in all the photos. I felt so much ease leaving him there and they communicate & send pics of him all night. Will definitely use again.”

“Bibo was amazing! Very communicative and flexible when introducing the dogs before boarding. They provided pictures and updates over the stay, and their pup Mayca was a great host to Kuma!”

“Stephanie has a knack for creating fun, novel, and enriching experiences for Otis that really helps him grow into a better more well adjusted dog. He comes back happier and more confident. She consistently keeps us informed on the daily happenings and his last visit eased our minds while we moved homes. Her services are invaluable and we are so grateful for her skill and positive approach to this work.”

“Marlene and her family were absolutely amazing! We left Bean with them for 12 days while we were out of the country, and had such peace of mind knowing how lovingly he was being cared for. They sent regular updates and we could tell Bean was genuinely happy being with them. He grew very attached and close to them. We will definitely reach out to Marlene to care for Bean again.”

“Danielle and Joel always do such an incredible job. They go way above and beyond what’s expected and it’s clear how much they love dogs. Can’t recommend Danielle for dog boarding enough.”

“Lauren was an incredible dog sitter for our dog Kermit. Every day she sent updates and pictures of their adventures. She took him for plenty of long walks and even let him snuggle up with her on the couch with lots of cozy blankets. We were so happy with the care and attention she gave our dog. We will definitely ask Lauren to dog sit in the future. I recommend her to anyone who is looking for a great, reliable sitter, who is communicative and caring.”

“There are several reasons why Tricia was a great sitter besides just that she seems like a really great person and animal lover- she responded in a timely matter to all our communications, she gave me daily updates with lots of pictures of my pup, she worked from home so I didn't to have to worry about him during the day, our trip was delayed and she was flexible in letting me pick him up late, and lastly she right along the way for us to the airport. Will definitely be reach out to Tricia next time we need a sitter!”

“Inkoo was absolutely wonderful! She took amazing care of our dog Pancho—sending us daily updates with multiple photos and thoughtful notes that really put our minds at ease while we were away. She communicated clearly and consistently, and it was clear from the pictures that Pancho was happy, well cared for, and having a great time—especially at the dog parks she took him to! Inkoo is warm, reliable, and incredibly detail-oriented. We’re so grateful to have found her and will definitely consider her again for any future pet sitting needs.”

“Ayanna was the perfect pick for my boy’s first Rover! She provided many excellent photos and videos with each visit along with details on his mood, energy level, what he was up to, etc. She was super friendly, easy going, and just as chill as my old man. Highly recommend her stellar sitting services!”

“Meli, was super responsive and flexible. We enjoyed meeting her for a quick walk through before our trip. Our cat is typically a scaredy cat and runs away from strangers, but she was curious and open to meet Meli. I think her calming presence put her at ease. We have a regular sitter but she wasn’t available and we had to scramble last minute. Meli was a great surprise. Would book again if needed.”

“We would definitely book Qishu again! She was great-quick to respond to messages, sent lots of pictures, and made us feel at ease about being away from Sabina for a couple of days.”

“Sophia worked her magic with my shy kitty! She totally came out of her shell with Sophia. Sophia was very communicative, responsive, timely, and fabulous. Would absolutely book her again. Thanks Sophia!”

About: Cat people are some of my favorite people! Cats are such a special type of love and affection and I pride myself on being loved by multiple cats. I love playing with active cats and keeping them stimulated but I also love getting shy cats to open up to me. I take the time to get to know your cat’s personality and meet their individual needs.

About: I’ve taken care of cats for my cousins and friends over the years, helping with daily care like feeding, cleaning litter boxes, and spending time with them while their owners are away. I’m comfortable with both friendly, outgoing cats and more shy or nervous ones, and I always let them warm up at their own pace instead of forcing interaction. I really enjoy getting to know each cat’s personality—some want to play right away, some just want space, and some slowly become more comfortable over time. I’m happy to follow whatever routine they’re used to so things feel familiar and stress-free for them. Whether your cat is playful, independent, or a little scared of new people, I’ll make sure they’re cared for, comfortable, and checked on regularly.
“Christine did a great job of dropping in and feeding our kitty while we were gone. She even gave him extra snuggles and attention which he always appreciates :) would definitely love to have her take care of Momo again!”

“Emilia-Laura took such good care of our cat Coyote while we were away for nearly an entire week. She gave us daily detailed descriptions of her visits with him which we appreciated so much and gave us so much peace of mind. We ended up extending our trip by a couple of days last minute and felt really confident and at ease that Emilia-Laura was available to visit him for those extra days. She was quickly in tune with our cat’s personality and needs. Coyote was doing great when we got back. Great communication and care overall. We highly recommend working with Emilia-Laura to take care of your feline babies. Thank you!!”

“Amazing caregiver-very attentive to our cats!! She made sure they were well socialized while we were gone on a week long trip-cats were very fond of her! Looking forward to booking again with Grace!”

“Cynthia watched our cat Emmy for two weeks over the Christmas holiday, stopping in daily for food & litter, snuggles, and playtime. She was an excellent caregiver and communicator: calm, thoughtful, meticulous, and very kind. We will 10/10 hire her again. Thanks, Cynthia!”

“Melina did such a great job drooping in and feeding my elderly cat, Momo. She was prompt with timing and sent lots of pictures and updates. I could tell that Momo really liked her 🥰 would definitely recommend Melina to anyone!!”

“Laura is a pro. The cats quickly warmed up to her ( all rescues and 2 usually would take longer). She had to give Insulin shots to one of my cats Coco Chanel and did this with no issues. I would def use her again. I also had to manage a clogged sink issue and cleaning cat boxes. plus nice personality.”

“Amazing!!! Rollie had such a great time he literally slept from the time we arrived home till the next morning. I took him out once and right back to sleep he went so I know he had a great with with Tamara. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my pup and sending photos.”

“Kelly took such wonderful care of our pup!! At 4 months old, Moose needs a LOT of play and attention (our training seems to go out the window when he's in a new place), but Kelly did an amazing job keeping him happy, loved, and up to speed with his commands. We could tell from the second we dropped him off that she knew exactly how to handle his puppy energy, and she sent us pictures and updates throughout the day to let us know how things were going. She even sent him home with his favorite snacks!! We will definitely rebook with Kelly in the future :)”

About: I managed a pet sitting service for 4 years with more than 400 clients and owned my own pet sitting service for 2 years, providing above and beyond pet care: dog walking, boarding, overnight house sitting, cat sitting, and other small pet care. I'm trained in insulin injections and skilled at applying ear drops, administering pills, and other basic daily medicinal needs. I also take great pictures of your pets and provide detailed notes while you're away! As a pet owner myself, I know first hand how hard it is to leave your pets at home. If I am to stay at your home, I can also take care of daily house duties like rotating lights, bringing in mail/packages, and watering plants. (I'm a skilled plant owner as well!) I'm trained in pet CPR and first aid and am skilled at recognizing dog behavioral cues. While I'm not a trainer, I'm happy to work with your dog on existing commands and basic commands. I have a very flexible, remote job and will prioritize your pet and it's needs! I take my own dog for hikes and play dates 3-4 times a week (on top of regular walks!) and look forward to having your dog join our pack! I have a two dogs of my own and your pup must get along with mine. I do provide a crate should your dog prefer that in my home. We have a fenced in yard for late night outs. We have plenty of toys to share and can easily manage any food resource issues.
“Baxter has stayed Andrea and her pups twice for daycare, with hopefully more days to come! Andrea has a gentle, kind spirit and seems very attuned to a dog's needs. At our meet & greet, she asked great questions about Baxter and his routines. She provided fun updates with pics a few times a day -- much appreciated!”

About: I'm a very responsible middle-aged woman who works from home and would be happy to care for your fur baby. Eventually I'll get a dog of my own! Our household consists of me and my partner, Rocky. We both grew up with pets, but currently don't have any. I work about 15-25 hours a week from home so I have plenty of time throughout the day for walks around the neighborhood and trips to the Alameda dog park. My partner and I are homebodies and enjoy spending time working on our house and gardening. I have a fenced in yard and several rooms of my house can be sectioned off to allow for large spaces to hang out, if the dog needs it's own space. I also have plenty of room to set up a crate. I do not have any pets. I would love to get a dog, but I travel to Vancouver 4 times a year to visit my mom in long term care and occasionally I have to travel for a week or more for work and I don't want to leave a pet for that long. My partner goes to the office Monday - Friday.
“Azar is such a great dog sitter! Jojo has done day care with her multiple times and she always has a great time! I feel very safe leaving Jojo with Azar while I'm at work. Would totally book again!”

“We could not have asked for a better first Rover experience! Alisson was attentive to our dog's needs and made him feel welcome in her home - enough to fall asleep on her lap! She was very communicative and flexible and would definitely recommend for your doggy daycare needs”

“Loved all the photos!! Matthew and Van Joseph were so patient and caring with my nervous gal. It was obvious that Ramona felt comfortable there - she’s been super leash reluctant, but they got her to go on 2 walks during daycare!! Huge success. They were super communicative and great. Can’t wait to bring Ramona back and watch her settle in even more :)”

About: I grew up with 6 pit bulls, taking sun baths with them in my backyard. I’ve volunteered in SF SPCA and donate monthly. My best friend aka Herita is a rescue, she’s been with me for over 3 years now. I believe animals have taught me how to love unconditionally and responsibly. Calm, trust and safety are my top priorities. I hope you give me the chance to connect with you and your fur baby/ babies. I work from home. I normally take Hera on a walk every morning for about 30 mins. Come back and hit the gym. After that I’m free. I can always head over in the am, afternoon or evenings. I have a fenced yard, Herita is spayed and loves to play with other dogs. Her bff is a 3 y/o Doberman. Which I take care of a couple of times a week (take her out on walks and feed her)
“Nasreddine and her bf were friendly and efficient with the drop off and return! Both dogs only stayed a couple hours but seemed to enjoy their time with their hosts! Above all, Nasreddine was SO understanding, flexible, and accommodating. My dogs escaped that morning and it was a flurry of whether I needed to cancel or not. Luckily, they came back after their little adventure and Nasreddine was happy to watch them even after all the chaos. Thank yooou!!”

About: I had a dog for 15 years and while we are holding out on getting a new one for a few years till we stop traveling so much, we would love to hang with yours periodically when in town! We have a fenced in yard to throw a ball in (and a six and nine year old who never tire in doing so) and love taking walks to all the local Piedmont parks with a pup. My husband is mildly allergic, so unfortunately only able to take in non shedding, hypoallergenic poodle type mixes. And of course dogs need to be kid friendly, but my kiddoes are very sweet and gentle with dogs and will give the dogs lots of pets and affection in return. My husband and I both predominately work from home so there's always someone around to love on a furry friend or take a break to get outside for a walk. I predominately work from home and I love frequent walks with a pup. We live close to many Piedmont parks which is a great place to go and visit other dogs or just explore some new grounds. I have a fenced yard and loving older gentle children who adore pets. I can crate your dog if desired to sleep, but also have kids that would be very happy to snuggle if preferred. You can trust that we will care for your pups as if they are our very own family dog for the duration of their stay.
“Chad took excellent care of my young and energetic greyhound with a lot of separation anxiety. When I picked her up she was happy and excited, but she didn’t show any signs of distress. Prior to my dog’s stay at his home Chad had invited us over for a meet&greet and he took a lot of time to inquire about my dog’s character and behaviors, which made me very confident that things would be alright. Chad was also willing to accommodated my travel schedule. I am happy with the experience and hope he will be available next time I have to go out of town.”

“Shanley was very sweet with Ruby. She was very thorough in asking questions to ensure she could take good care of Ruby during the day. We got great photos and updates during the day. And Ruby came back so happy!”

“Highly recommend! We hired Grace for a one-off dog walk while we were at a wedding and she was perfect! She followed instructions, was very self sufficient, and gave us the perfect amount of info in the walk report. We would happily hire her again :)”

About: Hi! While celebrating the milestone of earning my Master’s degree, I traveled to the East Coast this summer and during my trip I pet sat for a friend in NYC while she was traveling in Europe, and I loved it! I miss those fur babies so much that I signed up on Rover as soon as I got home. I’m looking forward to providing check-ins, socializing, and caring for furry friends while I enjoy my newfound freedom! 🙂 I currently have a flexible and open schedule! Please let me know what works best for you to accommodate you and your pet’s needs I welcome specific instructions, am not afraid to ask questions, and will happily provide picture updates so you can have peace of mind. I will always treat your home and space with respect.
“We've been hiring Amiri for years to walk our 90lb bulldog. Our dog has some territorial issues and he worked with us to train him, and now we hire Amiri every time we travel. He's always responsive and on time. Highly recommend!”

“Cynthia has been walking our dog, Pip, for the last six weeks while I recover from a foot injury and we really appreciate her. Our dog, Pip, was nervous about walking with a stranger but Cynthia was very flexible in figuring out how to make it more comfortable for Pip. Cynthia is quick to respond and shows up reliably. We really appreciate her help.”

About: $40 promo code for new Rover bookings. I'm new to Rover, but not new to animal care. I've trained my rescue dog Storm, using positive reinforcement methods, to be my service dog. He has a therapeutic effect on nervous dogs, and has helped socialize many cats to become dog lovers. I've been a part of many dogs training protocols, and am now exploring becoming a trainer myself! Take advantage of my low fees while I build my profile. I keep your little buddies entertained in ways that meet them at their level, whether it's long hikes, lazing in some grass, or playing with toys at home. I'm here to make you and your furry friend feel comfortable. ***Bonus*** you'll get some adorable pet pics whenever they stay in my care! I work from home most days, so I'm available to be a companion to your pet right off the bat! My work breaks are spent playing, training, and giving out treats! We like a house full of enrichment activities, with plenty of time for naps and cuddles in between. I have a 2br apartment that offers plenty of communal or private lounge space. It's been useful for boarding multiple animals, seperating eating as needed, quarantining for medical reasons, or just offering a shy animal their own quiet space. There are steps to my apartment and it's helpful if your dog is comfortable with stairs, or is 15lbs or under and can be carried. I live in a low traffic quiet neighborhood near a lot of parks and pretty outdoor spaces for walks. And there is some great bird and squirrel watching from the balcony doors.
“Christine is detail-oriented and incredibly caring in her approach! She was communicative throughout, asked good questions as needed, and took extra care to ensure my dog Ellie trusted her and had a good time. An excellent helping hand!”

“Ananda was amazing - she was really helpful coordinating dates/times, she stopped by early to meet my dog, and she was lovely about keeping me updated with everything! I think she’d be a great sitter or walker that I’d recommend to anyone”

“Adam is always quick to respond, communicative and was able to take my dog and an additional one we are dogsitting out today! And for a minor cost versus double. His style is laid back and easy while being on top of all the details. Would highly recommend!”

“Esteban is the best! I was very afraid I would not find anyone to walk Piper as she is strong and slightly dog selective. Also certain dog folks do not want to walk her with a muzzle which is confusing to me, he has no issues with it. Esteban came for a meet and greet and it was a great fit! Piper has come home happy and exhausted! Can’t wait to grow our relationship with him! He’s the best!”

Dog breeds I’ve cared for include: German Shepherd, Frenchies, pitties, lab mixes, chihuahuas, terriers, and all of the sweet mixed mutts! I raised a German Shepherd puppy from 8 weeks to almost 3 years old and have lots of experience with puppies, younger dogs, and anxious breeds. I primarily work with youth during the week but I have a flexible work schedule that allows me to provide quality care to your pets as you share is needed! I can pet sit as requested as well. I value my client’s trust and will strictly adhere to the care guidelines that you provide. I always take extra care to make sure your pet is safe and away from harm. This means I’m mindful when walking your dog around the neighborhood, keeping an eye on other dogs, people, and cars, ensure gates and doors are always locked and closed, and keep away food or chemicals that are unsafe. I’ll always be clean and a respectful guest in your home!
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all sizes and personalities for over three years. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, and care for their pets while they’re away. I have experience following feeding schedules, giving basic care, and providing extra attention to puppies and senior dogs. I always treat pets as if they were my own. “Elyse was amazing! Our normal dog walker bailed on us last minute, so we needed someone fast. Elyse went above and beyond making sure our dogs were comfortable with her and had great communication with us. She is super sweet and our pitties love her!!!”

“Heather was a hit with my senior dog Jax. He usually doesn't tolerate many people, but Heather was so kind and patient and after just one visit so easy to get along with Heather. Definitely will keep booking for the future”

About: First time booking with Rover? Use this promo code for $20 off: QISHUZ24398 Hi there! My name's Qishu (🔑👟). I moved to Oakland in 2023 to pursue a new dream - chiropractic medicine (for animals and humans)! I'm currently a full-time student and will be until the end of 2027. I was previously a sales engineer with IBM. I'd love to help all the cat and dog mamas/papas out here just as I had in Boulder, CO and, before that, Chicago, IL. I grew up with dogs since the age of 8 - mixed breeds, yorkies, labs, pitbulls, shepherds, terriers, corgis, chihuahuas, frenchies.. the list goes on!! One of the moments that confirmed I’d always want to work with animals was in college, when I helped care for my roommate’s pitbull/red heeler mix, Bridget. She is the sweetest girl, though she struggled with anxiety and health issues. Her teeth were worn down from chewing rocks in her past life, and she’d carry a little blanket around whenever she felt distressed. With her special diet, supplements, and medications, Bridget taught me what it meant to truly care for a soul who’d been through so much. That experience deepened my love and empathy for all animals in a way that’s stayed with me ever since. I would be honored to give your pets the love, exercise, and attention they deserve while you're away! I'm a huge advocate for providing pets with a great quality of life - more than just basic food and shelter. I'm happy to do any small extraneous tasks like getting the mail, watering plants, etc. Just let me know in advance! For my cat parents out there: Because of my 3 kids (Kina, Nemr, & Freyja) and a short stint fostering, I'm seasoned in all things cat/kitten: socializing, changing litter, oral admin of meds, treating fleas, bathing, nail trimming, de-shedding, training (sit, high-five, stand, turn-around, kiss). Since I’m a full-time student, my Rover calendar is currently limited to weekends and school breaks. That said, many families are comfortable having my partner, Ian, join when he’s available—which allows for a little more flexibility with scheduling. It’s a wonderful setup because Ian works from home (and is basically a dog at heart!), so your pets will almost always have company and care. Rest assured, it will only be me caring for your pets unless we’ve discussed and agreed otherwise. I’m also happy to bring Ian to our meet & greet and provide references upon request! I am responsible for creating a safe space for pets in their home. I make sure that they are comfortable and their boundaries are respected and understood with the guidance of their body language and the wisdom from their humans. All animals deserve patience, love, and empathy.

About: Hiya, I'm Peter! I've cared for dogs for as long as I can remember, and have since provided countless hours of pet-care of friends, family, friends of the family, and families of friends! I have years of experience doing walks, play, feeding, bathing, clean-up and more. I have experience with excitable breeds like a neighbor's golden doodle to my family's mellowed-out portugese water doggies, along with senior care. I see animal care as a privilege. Our pets are no less than little bundles of feelings and life that we are given the opportunity to cherish. I have been told on multiple occasions that I am able to calm animals unusually quickly, and I feel that I am attuned to the emotions of animals I care for. I would love to opportunity to provide care to your pet! I work from home in a low-speed position, so I have a flexible schedule for your pets' needs. Normally, I would do a morning and afternoon walk, with potty breaks peppered whenever they need. I can also step away from my work at a moment's notice if anything arises, from entertaining a bored doggie to foiling attempted counter surfing! I have a paved yard for sunbathing and potty breaks, the door to which I work right next to. I live near Lake Merritt, the Morcom Rose Garden, and a dog park, so I can provide walks of all lengths. My home is very cozy and has multiple spaces where an animal can detox from any overstimulation. I can provide a dog crate, scheduled meals, supervision, and play.
“Natasha took good care of Kona and gave us a detailed update multiple times with photos for the night we had Kona over at hers. She understood his personality and was able to help him get familiar with his new environment quick and be a snuggle buddy that he is. Sage was also friendly and got along with him as we saw them going on walks together on the photos. Loved it for Kona that he got to experience Sage and his mama! Kona will for sure be back. Thanks Natasha!”

About: I’ve grown up with cats and kittens my whole life and continued adopting them as an adult — animals have always been at the heart of my home! I’ve raised and trained a puppy from 8 weeks old, cared for up to 3 medium-sized dogs at a time, and have experience housing and caring for rabbits, birds, and reptiles too. 🐶🐱🐰🦜🐸🦎 Your pet will be welcomed into a warm, loving home where they’ll be treated like family! I’m also a pet parent myself — my 1-year-old pup and 9-year-old cat are both incredibly friendly with people and other animals and absolutely love making new friends. They’re always excited to welcome new furry guests! 🐕🐈 I believe pet sitting is so much more than just filling a food bowl twice a day — it’s about being real company for your pet. Surrounded by cozy blankets, their favorite toys from home, and plenty of love, your pet will feel comfortable and right at ease from the moment they arrive. I’m happy to provide multiple daily walks and plenty of undivided attention throughout the day!
“Daryl and Andrew were wonderful. They were patient, warm, and very caring with our pup Loki. In addition, they were gracious in enabling us to slightly shift pick up time at the last minute. I would highly recommend them.”

“Fantastic dog lover, Rob, cared for my dog Kumo twice now! We love Uncle Rob because he lets Kumo snuggle with him, is kindhearted and welcoming. He has a great handle on the dog pack he hosts. I would 100% recommend him!”

“Miumie was excellent! She went above and beyond taking care of Nanako, preparing a comfortable space in her home and even buying Nanako some toys! Miumie took the cutest pictures and videos of our puppy and shared them multiple times a day. She took Nanako on fun outdoors adventures and was prepared to handle the extra challenges that come with caring for a young puppy. Pickup and drop off were on time and convenient for our travel schedules!”
