“Dustin was wonderful with our dog Nala for 3 nights. Nala had a great time socializing with the other dogs there and we could tell she was having such a great time in all the updates we received. Thanks so much Dustin!”

“Our dogs loved it at Alex and Bri's home. The pups are usually anxious when we leave but they made themselves right at home. They loved the new grass put in their large backyard, found their favorite spot on their couch and got plenty of snuggles. We were updated constantly with plenty of pictures which assured us that they were being very well taken care of. We booked our next stay with them before we even picked them up. I highly recommend Alex and Bri!”

“Thank you Tami! You are such a wonderful, helpful and trustworthy dog sitter! Thank you, your husband and son for being so flexible. Poppy is well taken care of in your home! Andrea Dell’Orto”

“Hsiaolei provided Lulu the absolute best attention and care. They were extremely attentive to her needs, taking her on loads of hikes because she is an energetic dog. The photos she sent us during our time away showed Lulu visibly smiling, whether on her pad by the fire or out on a walk. I highly recommend Hsiaolei!”

“Lillie was great! She was super easy to communicate with and let us come by for a meet and greet first. Baloo appreciated the AC in her house and seemed happy and tired when I picked him up. We would use Lillie again!”

“We cannot recommend Lori and Frank more highly. This was Daisy’s very first time with a pet sitter, and as a rescue pup she can be a bit nervous in new situations. From the moment we met them, Lori and Frank immediately made her feel comfortable—not just with them, but also with their wonderful adult children. They took exceptional care of Daisy and truly made her part of their family. Thanks to their calm, loving environment, Daisy even gained the confidence to make a new doggy friend with another pet guest during her stay, which meant so much to us. We loved receiving regular updates and photos, and it was clear every step of the way that Daisy was happy, relaxed, and well cared for. Leaving your dog for the first time is never easy, but Lori and Frank made the entire experience completely stress-free. We are so grateful for the love and attention they gave Daisy and would trust them again without hesitation.”

About: I grew up with dogs and know firsthand how much they become part of the family. Our beloved dogs, Bonbon and Bambii, were like siblings to me, and I loved spending time with them on walks, hikes, and playtime adventures. Although I don't currently have pets of my own, I miss that special connection and would love the opportunity to care for and spend time with your furry companions. I also have experience looking after my sister's dog, Toast, and always enjoy giving pets the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve. I will treat your pets with the same love and care I would give my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time outdoors and being around animals. I love starting my mornings with a walk, hike, or run, and I'm available between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM for dogs who need exercise, fresh air, and attention before the day begins. In the evenings, I enjoy going on walks after work, usually from 7:00 PM onward. This gives me dedicated time to focus on your pet, whether that means a relaxing walk, playtime, or simply keeping them company. Having grown up with dogs and caring for my sister's dog, Toast, I understand that pets thrive on consistency, affection, and quality time. Caring for pets doesn't feel like a chore to me, it's something I genuinely look forward to and enjoy incorporating into my weekly routine.🐶🤍 When caring for pets in a client's home, I prioritize keeping them comfortable by maintaining their usual routine as closely as possible. I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and any special preferences. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, affection, and exercise while also respecting their individual personalities and needs. I believe communication is important, so I am happy to provide updates, photos, and messages to give pet parents peace of mind while they are away. My goal is to create a safe, calm, and loving environment where pets feel secure and cared for in their familiar surroundings.

About: I’ve cared for cats and dogs for friends and family in London, Chicago and now Novato, and I genuinely love having animals around. I’ve looked after up to three dogs at once, including Australian Shepherds, Blue Heelers, puppies and other high-energy dogs, as well as Maine Coon cats. I also have a cat of my own, so I completely understand that every animal has their own personality, routine and quirks! I’m patient, easygoing and very comfortable working with animals who may be nervous, energetic, independent or a little more challenging. I know how stressful it can feel leaving a pet when they aren’t the easiest animal, and my goal is always to make sure they feel safe, happy and cared for while giving their owners peace of mind. I’m a full-time teacher, so I’m usually home by around 4pm on weekdays and have some morning availability depending on my school schedule. I’m also generally very available during school holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, summer and long weekends. I do travel occasionally to visit my family in Ireland, but I’m usually around and happy to work around your plans when I can. I have a separate room where my cat can have her own space, so I’m happy to discuss overnight stays with dogs who are comfortable around cats. If your dog and my cat aren’t a good match, that’s completely okay — I’ll always prioritize everyone’s safety and comfort. I would absolutely love to have a dog of my own one day, but for now pet sitting lets me enjoy spending time with animals while still having the flexibility to travel and visit my family. I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own and make sure they get plenty of attention, care, walks, playtime and affection while you’re away. Schedule I’m a full-time teacher during the week and am usually home by around 4pm, with some morning availability depending on my school schedule. I’m available for evening walks and visits, and I have much more flexibility on weekends and during school holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, summer and long weekends. I do travel occasionally to visit family, so I always make sure my availability is clear and only accept bookings I can fully commit to. I adore all animals- spiders, dragons you name it 😂 my partner says I care more about them than humans. take the safety and comfort of every pet seriously. In my home, I provide a calm, clean and comfortable environment with plenty of attention, walks and playtime while also respecting when a pet needs space. I have a separate room where my cat can stay if a visiting dog is not comfortable around cats. For care in a client’s home, I follow your pet’s normal routine and your instructions closely, including feeding, walks, litter cleaning, medication and any specific safety needs. I’m patient with nervous, energetic or more challenging animals and will always prioritize their wellbeing and communicate with you if anything seems unusual.
About: I’ve cared for dogs in a wide range of situations, including senior dogs, special-needs pups, and dogs recovering from injuries. Most dogs love nature, and it's exciting to see them perk up on walks at the sound of chirping birds, rustling brush, or a skittering lizard. There are great dog-friendly nature paths in Novato and San Rafael that give the pups both sniffing and social opportunities, so they come home tired and content. What I’m especially good at is communication. I pay close attention to a dog’s eyes, ears, posture, and energy, because they tell you so much before they ever make a sound. I use a gentle “dog voice” (yes, the sweet baby-talk voice) and clear, steady cues, because many dogs respond quickly to warmth, tone, and consistency. Even anxious or shy dogs usually soften when they realize they’re being understood. I’ve also cared for large dogs, and my Labrador retriever loves having big buddies to play with. No matter the size, age, or temperament, I’m respectful of each dog’s individual needs, and I make sure they feel safe, seen, and truly cared for with plenty of affection, attention, patience, and exercise. I currently work from home, and I have a (mostly) flexible schedule. I like to get out with my dog two times a day for 2+ mile walks on local trails and parks. I respect people's spaces, and I am good at following detailed instructions for homes and their pets. I have references and happy clients to tell you about it!
“Nancy was an absolute dream. She treated my pup like her own; tired her out with a very fun weekend, and kept her safe in an unexpected heatwave. I was apprehensive about leaving my dog but Nancy put ny fears at ease and shared so many amazing pictures and videos!”

“Highly recommend Sylvie. My 6-month old Golden Retriever, Bauer, stayed with Sylvie for 5 nights. It was my first time leaving Bauer, so I was definitely nervous. I appreciated meeting Sylvie in-person prior to dropping Bauer off. Sylvie sent a lot of pictures throughout Bauer's stay, showing them hiking and playing outside with other dogs, which made me feel comfortable knowing that Bauer was in good hands. My husband and I also had our flight cancelled and could not fly back until the next day. Of course my first concern was Bauer, but Sylvie was quick to respond and flexible to keep him for another night which we greatly appreciated! Thanks Sylvie!”

“Kellie and Nathan came through for a last minute request and Gizmo had a lovely time staying at their home. He came back happy and exhausted and Kellie and Nathan made me feel supremely comfortable and safe about leaving my doggie with them. Will definitely hope to book again in the future!”

“Jaimi took amazing care of our dog, Maizie. She and her loved ones treated Maizie as a member of their family and the frequent photo updates were a delight. Knowing that Maizie was so well cared for made our travel worry-free. We highly recommend Jaimi and have already made arrangements to have Maizie stay with her again.”

About: I grew up with dogs and I’ve been a dog owner most of my adult life. I’ve also been a dog owner from the puppy age of eight weeks all the way through mature life. I can take care of other pets as well, and I can be available for dog boarding, dog sitting, dog walks, and other pet care during your weekends and travels. I am a part-time parent and establishing this as additional income since I am a single income household in Marin county. I am available for dog walking and boarding on alternating weekends, and during periods of your travels when I am in town. I am an outdoors woman, and will get pets outside and active regularly. I know several local dog parks and dog-friendly trails since I’ve been a dog owner myself for years (I no longer have a dog as of early 2025). I have a fenced front and backyard. I can house a pet with all of your personal items for the pet anywhere in my home, and I can provide highly personalized care since I live alone (part time parent with alternating weekends on my own).
“I had to go through a few Sitters until I found Daisy. Daisy took care of our lab mix for one week and she exceeded our expectations. Our dog came back happy and clean! We feel comfortable to leave our dog with her when we go away. Super happy with the service.”

Cat caregivers near you - Novato
Prices are estimates per visit for 1 cat. Pricing may vary based on your search and includes a booking fee of 11%.

About: I completely understand that not every cat is desperate for attention from a stranger — and I know what it’s like to have a cat who loves you very much and is considerably less interested in everyone else! My own cat has plenty of personality and can definitely be selective about who she trusts, so I’ve learned that patience and respecting their boundaries are key. I’m very comfortable caring for independent, nervous, shy or simply “difficult” cats. I won’t force interaction or overwhelm them. I’ll give them space and let them come to me on their own terms, while still making sure they get everything they need: fresh food and water, a clean litter box, medication if required, playtime when they want it, and plenty of care and attention at their own pace. Sometimes the best care for a cat is simply being a calm, reliable presence without expecting them to be social. I’m happy to sit quietly nearby, give them affection if they want it, or leave them to their own space if that’s what makes them comfortable. I’ve looked after cats for friends as well as my own, including larger and more independent breeds such as Maine Coons. Most importantly, I understand that every cat is different. My goal is to make sure your cat feels safe, comfortable and cared for while you’re away — even if their idea of a perfect visit is mostly pretending I don’t exist!
“This was our first experience with Edward and I will be booking more visits with my cat by him. He was very reliable and responsive. My cat ate a treat from his hand! That's amazing in itself.”

“Georgia was wonderful! My older cat warmed up to her right away. Georgia sent pictures and kept us informed of how she was doing during her drop-in visits. I would highly recommend Georgia and would definitely book her again!”

“Emily was amazing! She kept us updated everyday with pictures. She let us know when there were a few issues with our cats. (One had a hot spot & one was continuously crying) she put the dishes in the dishwasher and brought in the mail! She will definitely be our go-to pet sitter. Definitely recommend her!”

“My crew absolutely loved Sharon and her positive energy. The photos she sent were pronominal, the communication was great. We will be hiring her again. Alsó appreciated her attention to detail when learning all the different routines and behavior patterns with my little ones. Thank you.”

“Very reliable (always came at the same time & took pictures). Also went above and beyond helping my plants when it got 90+ degrees. Sometimes I wanted the pictures to be more of the cats playing with her and less of them sitting on the rug looking bored or hungry (which I bet they were when she arrived!) -- but I'm 99& sure that's a me problem. (-‿-");;”

About: I have two cats of my own and have had cats my whole life. I would love to drop-in and snuggle with your kitties. I can clean the littler boxes, play with your kitties, or just sit and snuggle, whatever your cat needs are.

“This was Kat's first time sitting for our kitten Peanut, and she exceeded our expectations across the board. Communication was excellent — she shared regular updates and sent us genuinely fun photos that we loved getting throughout the trip. When we hit an unexpected schedule change, Kat was completely accommodating and made it a non-issue. The house was just as clean as we left it. She followed everything we asked, from the litter box routine to stripping the bed before we got back. Most importantly, Peanut was visibly happy and well-adjusted when we returned — you can always tell when a sitter has actually engaged with your pet, and she clearly had. Peanut was so comfortable with Kat that we were able to fully relax and enjoy our vacation. We will absolutely have her sit for Peanut again. Highly recommend.”

About: Hello; I'm a lifelong animal lover with over 10 years experience caring for and living with all dogs big and small. I'm flexible, reliable, and love walking, hiking, and staying with pets. I currently work as a part-time illustrator and personal chef, but have most of my day open to devoting to your pets. I'm able to stay with and care for animals (both short and extended term), and am also available for drop-ins, walks, and hikes. I've cared for many pets and homes (both long and short term) for over a decade. I love taking dogs out to the trail, the beach, and the park, and also have experience with various walking, medication, and care routines.

“Diane did an awesome job watching over my two cats. From the beginning, she was very attentive to details and demonstrated that she had a lot of experience, taking care of cats. My litter box was clean when I got home and the cats had just gone fed. I would definitely book her again.”

“I recently had Madison house sit and pet sit for nearly two weeks, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. She took wonderful care of my cat, playing with him multiple times a day and regularly sending pictures so I always knew how he was doing. It's clear she genuinely loves animals. I came home to a happy, relaxed cat, just as I had left him. Madison was also incredibly responsive throughout the stay. Any time I had a question, she replied quickly and put my mind at ease. She also left the house in great shape, which I really appreciated. Leaving your pet with someone new can be a worrisome experience, but I never felt anxious once with Madison. I was completely at ease knowing my cat and home were in such capable, caring hands. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive pet sitter, and I will absolutely be hiring her again without hesitation.”

“Elizabeth took care of my old cat, Alfie, who has aches and pains that need to be managed with medication. Alfie can be a bit grumpy, and is usually shy of other people. We were gone for a week, and it was great to know I could rely on Elizabeth to take care of Alfie's regular needs, as well as administering his medication. Elizabeth kept in communication with me, and sent pictures daily. I would highly recommend Elizabeth to anyone else looking for a cat sitter.”

“Susana was wonderful with our pup! She is very quick to respond to any messages and sent pictures and videos of my boy. She has a great outdoor area for dogs to play in, and space in the house to explore. My pup came home happy and smiling after 2 days of day care with Susana. I highly recommend her for day care.”

“Brianna and Alex are such a great find! They are easy going, fun, and attentive. Communication was great, and they sent tons of sweet pictures. We are new to the area, and I was very anxious about finding the right people to watch our sweet, little, needy Poppy. Well my prayers have been answered - thank goodness for Brianna and Alex. We will absolutely be using them many more times!!”

“Heidi and Lars were extremely accommodating and took great care of our boy Gryffin. I felt very comfortable leaving my fur baby with them. We received photos and info throughout the day. We will definitely use them again and I highly recommend Heidi and Lars for day care! Thank you for taking such good care of my boy.”

“Lucia sent lots of pictures, and Poppy looked very happy and comfortable. I am super picky about who we leave our sweet girl with, so I am thrilled to have found Lucia and look forward to using her again!”

“Staying with Noey is like the best day at dog camp, ever. She’s the friendliest dog lover who truly enjoys hosting play dates with her own two beautiful little furry guys. 5 stars for Noey. Best Rover In The Bay Area!”

“Kellie and Nate are so welcoming and have a beautiful dog-friendly home and awesome backyard. Their relaxed energy made me feel so comfortable to have them care for our 6-month old extra large breed Great Pyrenees/Siberian Husky puppy that we adopted just 3 weeks ago for a day while I had a job interview. I highly recommend Kellie and Nate!”

“Guillermo was so helpful and great to work with! He answered all my messages right away and was very thoughtful about asking questions to make sure my nervous dog would feel as comfortable as possible. Really appreciate his help with doggy daycare so my pup didn't have to be home alone!”

“I've never used a dog sitter before today and was a bit nervous because my dog tends to struggle with separation anxiety and he is currently mourning the loss of his brother. Lillie is so thoughtful and clearly has a huge heart for dogs! She welcomed me with flowers because she knew we were grieving the loss of our other dog. Lillie's energy and dog friendly environment helped put my dog at ease right away. Her dog was so friendly and was excited to have a fur pal to play with. I appreciated getting pictures and videos of my dog throughout the day. I definitely recommend Lillie!”

“So glad we met Edward! He took great care of our labradoodle, who can get very bad separation anxiety when we're away. I liked how Edward was thoughtful about bringing his dog outside to introduce her to our dog, and took them for a walk together right away so they could get to know each other. Edward's dog was very sweet and well behaved, and got along great with our dog. We are so thankful for Edward's help!”

“Christina and her husband were so great to work with! We really appreciated their amazing communication from the moment we requested to book. We also loved how they sent cute photos and videos of our dog so we knew he was having an amazing time! They took excellent care of him and made sure he got plenty of potty breaks. Our dog also got along really well with their dog, which helped him to be less stressed during his stay. We really appreciate Christina's help, and would be happy to book with her again!”

About: Hi! I'm Rafi, your local dog nanny. I have over 8 years of experience caring for dogs and spent more than a year working for a professional pet care company. I've worked with dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds, from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need extra patience and attention. I regularly care for English Mastiffs, Pit Bulls, and German Shepherds, so I'm comfortable handling large, strong breeds as well as dogs with different personalities and needs. What sets me apart is that your dog's well-being is always my top priority. I treat every dog as if they were my own, providing personalized care, attention, exercise, and affection while you're away. My goal is to give pet parents complete peace of mind, knowing their pup is safe, happy, and receiving the best possible care. Pet care is my full-time job, so my schedule is built around the dogs and families I work with. This allows me to be flexible and available for daycare, overnight stays, and last-minute bookings whenever possible. I care for every dog as if they were my own. Your dog will receive plenty of love, attention, and close supervision, and I prioritize their safety, comfort, and emotional wellbeing at all times. I understand that each pet has unique needs, so I carefully follow their established routine, preferences, and any special care instructions to help them feel secure, happy, and at home. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I maintain a calm, respectful environment and do not host any guests while I am staying there. I do not drink, smoke, or party; I focus fully on the pets’ care, safety, and consistency in their normal routine. In my own home, dogs are treated like part of the family. They are welcome on beds and couches, and we have a secure backyard for safe playtime, exercise, and potty breaks. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I treat every pet with the same level of care and attention I would want for my own.

About: Hi there, I’m Chris! I’ve had some kind of pet in my life ever since I was little, from cats to dogs to aquatic acquaintances! I currently have two cats that bring me so much happiness. I’ve been my friend’s and family’s go to pet sitter for many years due to my obvious love of pets and animals. I’ve taken care of all sizes of dogs and of all ages, as well as mixed species pet families. I establish bonds with the animals I care for which can sometimes make it hard to say goodbye. I adore puppies due to their excitable nature and high energy! Cats have a special place in my heart because of the memories I share with the cats I’ve had but if you were to ask me if I was a cat or dog person; I’d say, “Why can’t you be both?” LGBTQIA+ friendly I graduated from college with a degree in anthropology and am now back in my hometown working a part-time contract job. My work schedule is very flexible so with enough time’s notice I can work any request into it. I am typically free to feed and walk pets in the morning and evening, as typical schedules go. Please let me know if there are any special requests or needs for your animal! I understand the importance of an animals happiness and mental state. I am very much used to taking care of pets in other’s houses and will follow the rules of the house perfectly. I have house sat in Kosher households before so I am familiar with the importance of following set rules. I am okay with pets that sleep on the bed with the owner or having to crate up a pet for the night. I am a private person and often keep to myself; I don’t cause a ruckus! I keep things nice and tidy just like the saying goes, “a place for everything and an everything in its place.”
“Mesgana is a great caregiver - she communicates very thoroughly and is very conscientious about providing great service. She always leaves a well-documented summary of her visits and I can tell she really cares about the animals she is entrusted with. Cannot recommend her more highly!”

“In our first meeting and walk Susannah was communicative, reliable, friendly, and clearly a true dog lover! My (reactive) pittie took to her immediately and they had a great walk together. I appreciated how carefully she listened to my instructions and asked about my dog's potential triggers. I look forward to using her services in the future.”

“Olive absolutely loves her regular walks with Lisa. I appreciate how communicative Lisa is with us, and getting our photo updates of their excursions. Thanks for making Olive happy and her parents' schedules easier!”

“Bing and his wife were amazing! There were extremely respectful, responsive and communicative. They gave my pup an extra long walk and even cleaned his feet before returning him home. I got lots of pictures and feedback from them. I highly recommend Bing and will definitely book again! Thank you!”

I look forward to providing thoughtful, reliable care for your furry family members while you’re away. About: I've always loved helping, nurturing, and caring for others, including friends, family, children, and animals! I've taken care of goats, pigs, birds, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, and, of course, dogs. I love playing with puppies and trying to tire them out or attending to senior dogs who really just want someone to give them scratches. I've dealt with big dogs (Great Dane and Mastiffs) and small dogs (chihuahua mixes) alike! If I'm at a friend's house, you can find me with a toy or ball in my hand, playing with their pooch. I’m currently applying to jobs and doing some freelance work on the side, so animal care fits right into my flexible schedule. I love hiking and am always looking for a furry friend to take along with me! I always listen closely to the instructions I am given by my clients, especially in regards to feeding and medication (if applicable). When I've stayed at someone's home, I always leave the house just as when I arrived. I'm especially fond of taking dogs out to explore in nature, but I'll always adjust to the dog's level of energy.
About: I have been professionally caring for dogs and cats in-home for about 5 years part-time, but I was raised in a home that routinely took in stray and surrendered animals. I am a lifelong vegetarian and 10-year vegan with a deep love for all creatures. In addition to caring for animal companions, I like to leave homes better than I found them. Whenever possible, I do some light housekeeping so that when folks return from their trips, they come back to happy animals and a cozy home where they can just put their bags down and crawl into a bed! PLEASE NOTE: Any requests (by folks I’ve never worked with before) to book additional time off of the Rover app will be declined. This is a safety issue for both parties — I do not enter strangers’ homes without safeguards and advise against folks needing pet sitting services to allow strangers into their home without safeguards. Rover is a means to provide that safety measure prior to establishing a trusting relationship. My posted rates are firm. I ask that folks not haggle or try to negotiate an initial pet-sit off of the app for a cheaper rate.

“Dustin was wonderful with our dog Nala for 3 nights. Nala had a great time socializing with the other dogs there and we could tell she was having such a great time in all the updates we received. Thanks so much Dustin!”

“I had to go through a few Sitters until I found Daisy. Daisy took care of our lab mix for one week and she exceeded our expectations. Our dog came back happy and clean! We feel comfortable to leave our dog with her when we go away. Super happy with the service.”
“Deborah was fantastic! She was nice enough to accommodate us same day and could not have been nicer. We could tell instantly when we arrived that she was going to take great care of our dog Otto. She took him on walks, took him to the beach, sent lots of great photos, and even bought him some pup cups! Her children were also absolutely lovely and obviously made Otto feel comfortable and welcome. Highly recommend using Deborah services! You cannot go wrong!”

“We loved Christine's thoughtful and structural approach to watching our dog, Maeby. She asked all the right questions upfront to ensure a safe and fun stay for Maeby who has separation anxiety, mixed feelings about other dogs, and too smart for her own good! Christine was patient and provided the structure that we have been working on with Maeby during her stay, so that when we return we can continue applying the same approach. She is a one-of-kind sitter/trainer and highly recommend Christine for any boarding needs!”

“Rafi delivered such professional service, offering to pick up and drop off our pet even when we had not requested that service. She also created a safe and accommodating home for our dog, helping it become part of her pack so quickly. We were blown away by Rafi's innate ability to put animals at ease: our usually nervous pup approached her immediately and got into her car without assistance after only meeting her once.”

“Great guy Guillermo is a great dog sitter he took great care of my 10 month pit bull who has high energy and isn’t easy to take of at all. Highly recommended his service to anyone would love for him to watch my dog anytime again trust me this is the guy you want to look after your family friend.”

“Juliana; was great at communicating and giving me updates when I asked. She took excellent care of my Yorkie! I highly recommend Julianna to care for your baby! I definitely will book again with her.”
