About: ### Cat Care Experience Cats have been part of my life for more than 30 years, and some of my most meaningful experience has been caring for cats with complicated behavioral and medical needs. I learned the most from Lily and Ozzie, two cats I cared for for roughly 15 years. When I came into their lives, they were already dealing with a serious behavioral problem. After Ozzie survived an encounter with a coyote, he redirected his aggression toward Lily, and the two cats had to be kept separated for their safety. Using the behavioral principles and techniques taught by Jackson Galaxy, we gradually rehabilitated Ozzie to the point that they could safely share their home again. The alternative was putting Ozzie down, and we just couldn't have that. As they grew older, their needs became increasingly complex. Ozzie developed chronic gastrointestinal problems that required special diets, medication, carefully managed play and exercise, and close veterinary supervision. Lily later developed hyperthyroidism, kidney disease, recurring urinary tract infections, and intestinal motility problems. Over the years, her care included multiple medications twice a day, special dietary needs, monitoring her eating, drinking, litter-box habits and behavior, managing frequent poop accidents, frequent veterinary care, and eventually administering subcutaneous fluids at home as she became elderly. That experience taught me something I think is especially important with cats: they often tell you something is wrong very quietly. I pay attention to changes in behavior that can be easy to miss—facing a wall or withdrawing from the room, staring into space, changes in breathing, unusual vocalization, excessive grooming, changes in appetite, drinking significantly more water, changes in litter-box habits, or simply behaving differently than they normally do. I would never try to diagnose someone else's animal, but I do know when something deserves the owner's attention. My approach to everyday cat care is equally individual. Every cat gets a clean litter box, fresh water, clean food bowls, regular feeding according to their established routine, and opportunities for play and interaction. Beyond that, I let the cat tell me what kind of relationship they want. Some cats want to follow you from room to room and sleep beside you. Others would prefer that you feed them, respect their personal space, and stop being so presumptuous as to assume you've become friends after only three days. I’m comfortable with both. I never force affection or interaction on a cat that doesn't want it. I give shy or cautious cats time to decide that I'm safe, and I adjust play, brushing, handling, and companionship to the individual animal rather than expecting the animal to adjust to me. When I house-sit, I also care for the environment the cat lives in. I keep the home tidy, water plants, handle ordinary household tasks, and take care of minor issues when I reasonably can. The feedback I hear most often is that the animals seem happy and relaxed when their people return—and the house looks as though its owners never left. That's the standard I aim for.

About: I have rescued 3 Frenchies over the years, and fostered numerous others starting in 2008. I've fostered multiple Roadogs and Slaughterhouse Survivors (our second Frenchie rescue was a meat trade rescue who came from SHS) and currently foster for It Starts with One. I currently have one very mellow, very dog friendly, female, adult spayed Frenchie now named Reagan - who I recently adopted from the Labelle Foundation. Reagan is happy to play a little with other dogs, but she could take it or leave it. She does not resource guard and she's never shown any aggression toward the other dogs we've fostered and cared for. We also have a foster currently from Starts with One Today named Luna. She's a French Bulldog found on Skid Row and she's a gentle giant with a similar disposition to Reagan. I am a stay at home parent and I'm home for the majority of the day. I have a single story, single family home with a fully gated backyard with a 6' fence - we also have a small/medium sized doggie door (with optional ramp for the 2 steps (raised foundation) for seniors) which is available all day (we'll teach them how to use it). Please bring a harness for your dog. You are welcome to send their bed from home if you think that is a comfort item, but I don't need you to bring anything besides their food and a harness. I have experienced with: - Senior Dogs - Giving Medications (syringe, hiding in food, pushing) - Syringe Feeding - Post Surgical Care - Senior Care - Basic Potty Training Reinforcement - Palliative/Hospice Care We Have: - Dog Bed - Food and Water Bowls - 36" x 36" gated enclosure [if needed] - Crates [medium travel or large wire, if needed] and crate liners In my house: my husband and two teenagers. They give extra love but won't be responsible for any actual pet care. Note: the nightly rate is based on 24 hours. I do not prorate if you pick up early. The rate is per each night ie 8am to 8am. Or 4pm to 4pm. You can schedule your pick up or drop offs for anytime between 7am and 8pm. It's rare that I'm not home during the day - when that happens, it's usually for a very short period of time (like dropping kids at school). I'm kinda a homebody. I close the dog door around 9/10pm and reopen it at 7am. It stays open as long as I'm home, so pretty much all day 7am-10pm. I care for pets in my home only at this time. I do not offer pet sitting in your home. I have a single family home with a fully gated backyard and doggy door. Safety: Please be sure to convey any triggers or behaviors - I can probably handle most - but to ensure everyone is safe its important to know before you book. When your dog arrives at my home, I will place an airtag on your dog's collar with geofences set up, as well as a dog tag with my information, just to be extra safe. I feed dogs separately just to be extra sure there are no food squables. Our dog is not a resource guarder, but why risk it? I crate boarded and foster dogs when I am not home (which is rare) to ensure safety - once I'm comfortable that a dog is doing fine with our dog, we can stop (or feel free to request me to continue if you feel better about that).

I trained my family dog myself and he is such a great boy. I have also groomed small dogs before and am very gentle. About: I have always had pets in my home whether that’s dogs, cats, fish, etc. I’ve fostered many kittens, one time 4 at once, and i’ve fed them and taken care one left behind by its mother. There has always been at least one dog in the home and currently i have two! I’m currently working a part time job and I have only one class in person at my college so I have a lot of free time! About: I’ve loved animals my entire life and connecting with animals of all kinds is my greatest joy. Rescued is my favourite breed, and I specialize in watching senior pets and special needs pets. I have experience with seniors who require medications and particular care, as well as special needs, including but not limited to blind, deaf, and three-legged pets. I have a flexible work schedule and when I’m not at work, I’m a huge homebody and live alone, so your pet will get tons of one-on-one attention and love. I don’t have any dogs or cats of my own, and I only watch one dog at a time, so if your pet needs to be the sole pet, then we are a perfect fit. I do have one sweet senior guinea pig; she can be secured in another room if you’re worried about your pet bothering her. I absolutely love watching small pets as well and have tons of experience with guinea pigs. Please note that I currently work hybrid and go into work 2-3x a week. However I only have to be there from 10-3, so your pet would only be alone for a max of five hours. Luckily my work is super flexible, so if I need to adjust my hours or office days for your pet, please let me know and I can adjust my schedule. My office is also super dog friendly, if you think they’d like to come with me! My place is very quiet; I live alone and never have people over, and I’m home most of the time, so I’m great for anxious or shy pets. I also only board one dog at a time, so your pet will get 100% of my attention, which is also great for shy and nervous dogs who don’t do well with other dogs. (If you have two dogs I’m happy to watch them together, I just don’t watch dogs from different families at once.) I don’t have a backyard, but I do have a spacious balcony for your dog to sunbathe. I’m on the top floor and my building has an elevator, which is ideal for senior and special needs pups. Your pet is welcome anywhere in my apartment, from the couch to my bed, my home is their home.

About: I grew up taking care of pets! My childhood dog Olivier was an unusual mix; he was an eye-catching, mutant-sized Dachshund who got a lot of attention walking down the street, and we had a couple of independent-minded kitties. My family still has multiple dogs and cats. I absolutely adore dogs and feel strongly about tuning in to who they are - if they want to play, it's on! If it's a shy guy or gal, I respect their space if and until they feel more comfortable. I have a lot of free time and work flexibility would love to help working families while I am already spending time with my pets. I’ve been pet sitting for over 15 years. My work schedule is extremely open, so I have lots of time for scenic walks drop in visits and daycare for your fur babies. I have a car and tons of flexibility. I live right across the street from a very pet friendly park and in a spacious two bedroom apartment. I keep a camera plenty of enrichment and toys.

I currently work as a bartender but have 2 years of experience working at a dog grooming salon, 3 years of experience walking dogs through another app, and 15+ years of experience sitting for cats! I have extensive experience with "aggressive" breeds, we get each other :) I work in a flexible work environment and can accommodate easily with at least 2 days notice during the week and even more availability on weekends. About: I have rescued 3 Frenchies over the years, and fostered numerous others starting in 2008. I've fostered multiple Roadogs and Slaughterhouse Survivors (our second Frenchie rescue was a meat trade rescue who came from SHS) and currently foster for It Starts with One. I currently have one very mellow, very dog friendly, female, adult spayed Frenchie now named Reagan - who I recently adopted from the Labelle Foundation. Reagan is happy to play a little with other dogs, but she could take it or leave it. She does not resource guard and she's never shown any aggression toward the other dogs we've fostered and cared for. We also have a foster currently from Starts with One Today named Luna. She's a French Bulldog found on Skid Row and she's a gentle giant with a similar disposition to Reagan. I am a stay at home parent and I'm home for the majority of the day. I have a single story, single family home with a fully gated backyard with a 6' fence - we also have a small/medium sized doggie door (with optional ramp for the 2 steps (raised foundation) for seniors) which is available all day (we'll teach them how to use it). Please bring a harness for your dog. You are welcome to send their bed from home if you think that is a comfort item, but I don't need you to bring anything besides their food and a harness. I have experienced with: - Senior Dogs - Giving Medications (syringe, hiding in food, pushing) - Syringe Feeding - Post Surgical Care - Senior Care - Basic Potty Training Reinforcement - Palliative/Hospice Care We Have: - Dog Bed - Food and Water Bowls - 36" x 36" gated enclosure [if needed] - Crates [medium travel or large wire, if needed] and crate liners In my house: my husband and two teenagers. They give extra love but won't be responsible for any actual pet care. Note: the nightly rate is based on 24 hours. I do not prorate if you pick up early. The rate is per each night ie 8am to 8am. Or 4pm to 4pm. You can schedule your pick up or drop offs for anytime between 7am and 8pm. It's rare that I'm not home during the day - when that happens, it's usually for a very short period of time (like dropping kids at school). I'm kinda a homebody. I close the dog door around 9/10pm and reopen it at 7am. It stays open as long as I'm home, so pretty much all day 7am-10pm. I care for pets in my home only at this time. I do not offer pet sitting in your home. I have a single family home with a fully gated backyard and doggy door. Safety: Please be sure to convey any triggers or behaviors - I can probably handle most - but to ensure everyone is safe its important to know before you book. When your dog arrives at my home, I will place an airtag on your dog's collar with geofences set up, as well as a dog tag with my information, just to be extra safe. I feed dogs separately just to be extra sure there are no food squables. Our dog is not a resource guarder, but why risk it? I crate boarded and foster dogs when I am not home (which is rare) to ensure safety - once I'm comfortable that a dog is doing fine with our dog, we can stop (or feel free to request me to continue if you feel better about that).
