Sophie got to meet their dog, Ellie, and they got along instantly. Ana and Mitchell were flexible, accommodating, and asked thoughtful questions to make sure Sophie’s needs were met. Usually my neighbors will feed my cats while I’m on trips, but one of my cats crossed the rainbow bridge recently, and it gave me such peace of mind that Meru was not alone and had ample sweet and caring company with Yuhong and her husband. Meru had never been away from our home so she (and I) was nervous at first, but warmed up to Yuhong quickly. Yuhong played with Meru twice a day to keep her spirits up. About: I’ve been around cats since I was five years old, and one thing I’ve learned is that every cat has their own personality and their own way of showing trust. Some cats want cuddles the moment I walk through the door, some prefer to watch me from across the room, and some may decide that the closet is their favorite place to spend the day. I love that independence and I never expect a cat to interact with me before they’re ready. I let them set the pace and take the time to earn their trust. Most of my cat care is done in the cat’s own home, which I believe is often the most comfortable place for them. I’m happy to follow their normal routines, whether that means feeding, refreshing water, cleaning litter boxes, playing, giving them attention, or simply keeping them company. If your cat prefers to hide, that’s okay too—I’ll respect their space while still making sure they’re safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’ve cared for cats with and without my dog, Chica. When she is with me, she generally has very little interest in cats, and cats usually have very little interest in her. They may briefly sniff each other when introduced, but I always respect their boundaries and keep their food and feeding areas separate. I’m careful about maintaining their individual routines so everyone can feel comfortable. About: I've shared my home with two to four dogs since coming to LA 15 years ago. Because I work from home, your pup gets a calm, dog-savvy human nearby all day — frequent yard breaks, play, and belly rubs instead of hours alone. I'm comfortable with puppies, seniors, medications, and high-energy dogs. I feel time together and attention is what bonds both humans and dogs, and seeing them go from anxious and confused to a happy member of "the pack" is one of the more rewarding parts of taking care of them, so I prefer stays long or frequent enough for your pup to feel at home with me and in my home, but I'm also always willing to cover a tight spot or step in for a day of daycare. I work from home on a flexible schedule, so your dog has company and supervision for the entire day — regular walks, play, and potty breaks, not long stretches alone. I offer boarding and daycare and take only up to three dogs at a time, and mostly for medium to long term boarding, so it's a calm environment without a ton of new dogs coming and going. I'm glad to keep your dog's normal routine for meals, walks, naps, and bedtime. I always mark as unavailable any days I have travel or major time commitments that will keep me away from home for more than an hour or two, so they will have constant care while they're here. Your dog will have free range of my 3 bedroom home, detached studio, and very large, securely fenced backyard full of fruit trees. I don't have pets of my own right now, so your pup gets the whole space and my full attention. I'm happy to crate or set up a quiet separate area if that's what your dog is used to, and I keep things calm and low-stress. My space is easily partitioned to allow dogs to eat, nap, or hang out alone in peace if that's what they prefer. I have a doggy door for dogs who like to let themselves in/out at their leisure. (it's about 50/50 whether they figure it out and make use of it lol) I converted our detached 2 car garage into a recording studio, where I work, so we have the quietest place in town in the event we have to make it through fireworks or if your pet prefers quiet or isolation. Both the house and studio have their own separate HVAC systems, so they'll definitely stay comfortable. I don't generally use kennels or crates, but if your dog prefers or is used to using one, by all means bring it along. I have always slept with my own dogs, so happy to co-sleep with yours if that's what they're used to, but also glad to maintain whatever rules you generally set for them in regard to being on beds/furniture. I have found even "reactive" and "solitary" dogs very quickly acclimate to a more social environment (it usually only takes 3-4 hours) and I never leave them together unsupervised until they're demonstrating clear friendliness to each other. Many dog parents bring their pups over just for this kind of socialization, and it's great to watch a dog that "hates all other dogs" running and playing in the yard with the group after snarling at everyone just a few hours before.

About: What’s the most important thing all dog owners want to know before entrusting their dogs to a stranger? Well first of all I’m from Jersey. I’ll play with your dog, make sure they’re happy, take them on a walk, not lose them, and feed them only what you tell me to feed them. No human food, I promise. Unless of course that’s in your list of food to give them. Of course hydrate them as well. I know the do’s and don’ts of a dog’s diet since I have 2 of my own. I’ve also been fostering dogs on and off for the past 3 years. I am known to be reliable and responsible, so I can assure you that you can rest easy with leaving your dog(s) in my care. Or if you have a cat, I also get along super well with them since I also have 2 of my own! I work from home so I do have some flexibility or if you need eyes on your little one for long hours I will also be able to do that. I do have 2 cats so I have pet gates up to separate my cats from any dogs. The dogs get free roaming of the living room which tends to be enough for my two dogs plus any friends they’ve had over. Routine in my home is key. At your home, I’ll stick to your routine and respect your house rules. Whatever you require, it will be respected.

After work which can finish from 3-6pm Monday to Friday, I am free all evening to provide the necessary pet care I have a relatively smallish studio around 400 square feet that has a large window overlooking the city that can open but is not accessible (ie no pet or human can get outside just look outside). The pets are able to go wherever they want in the studio- bed, chairs, table etc (if they want!). The apartment is secure and inaccessible to most unless I let them in so is a safe home. “Let me start by saying this was the first time in over 15 years that my boy has ever been watched by anyone that wasn't family. To say I was nervous was an understatement. My boy is almost 18 yrs old, mostly blind and deaf, and has been with me most of his life. He was there for me, so there is no chance I wouldn't be there for him. But I have a job coming up out of town, my son now has a very busy work schedule, and I really need to take the job. So I poured over the internet, found rover, and then found Laura and Brian. Their profile sounded promising, so I reached out. Speaking with Laura made me feel so much better and comfortable with leaving my boy for a weekend trial. They were AWESOME with him. Everything I really wanted for him, they were already on it. They understood how scared he can get in a world of silent shadows and made sure he felt their presence so he knew he wasn't alone. They treated him special, he even got breakfast in bed one morning. And I know this because they also understood how nervous I was, and kept in touch with me constantly, with texts and pictures....like his breakfast in bed. The immense amount of relief they gave me was so important to me, as was their genuine caring about my old man. So tomorrow he's gonna hang out for the day, then again next month when my son gets married back East, and then for my job during most of October. Trey and Lola seemed to be fast friends and were "patrolling" the (gated) back yard together when I arrived to pick her up. They treated Lola like family and ensured that Lola got her AM/PM medications. They even sent her home with an adorable little report card that I hung up on the fridge because it sparks joy.
