“Stephanie was wonderful!! We thought our pup would never want to come home after spending 10 days with her. We got so many pictures, gave us a lot of updates and took such great care of our new puppy. It’s a lot to take on a new puppy, and she was so kind, positive and loving the entire time. Our pup had a great time! And we enjoyed our vacation, knowing she was in good hands!”

“Our experience and our doggie's experience was a great one! Her place is setup for legit dog care and you can feel confident that she knows what she is doing. As an over-protective parent of my golden doodle, she was always in constant contact with me while I was away. We are very grateful to have found such a wonderful place for our pooch to stay. We know he is in good hands and we don't have to stress about it.”
“Gabriel took very good care of our dog Stacy while we were out of town for a couple days and sent daily updates which we really enjoyed. I would use Gabriel again for pet sitting needs”

“Jaimie was awesome! She was flexible around a few oddities with pickup/drop off, but most importantly treated our dog Maple so well! Great walks and play time, we could tell Maple was very happy. Thank you!!”

“Ashley was so great helping us last minute when we had travel cancellations! Her flexibility was so so appreciated. Leo had a blast and was exhausted for 2 days after returning home! I’d look to Ashley again for sure!”

“Lyndsey was amazing! She took such great care of our elderly dog and was very communicative throughout the whole stay - sending us updates and photos. Our dog was so relaxed and happy when we went to pick her up too.”

“Adam and Lauren are wonderful and they have a great space for Loki - he loves them!! I am especially grateful for their availability and care of him when I am away :-)”

“Breanna and Dan were the ultimate dog sitters! Their home is close to beautiful trails, marshes and beaches so it’s like your pup is on a vacation of their own in Tahoe. They took Roo on multiple adventures on her short 24 hour stay and consistently sent me photos and updates. They were very quick to get back to me and coordinating our schedules and booking was super smooth. Roo seemed very at home, comfortable and loved on, I would highly recommend Breanna and Dan as your dog sitters. I will be booking with them for any future Tahoe adventures.”

“Leilah was absolutely wonderful with our dogs! She was incredibly reliable, communicative, and clearly treated our pups like her own. I highly recommend her services and will definitely be booking with her again!”

Time is as precious as the angels by our side, and I’ll treat your pup like my own. For your peace of mind, I maintain an active Wilderness EMT certification, and my trail kit always includes canine-specific tourniquets and first aid. Flexible schedule. Selectively accepting a few well mannered companions. We'll keep a good eye. I have a couple spare tracking collars if that is a concern for off leash activity.
“Alexis was so sweet with the dogs. They stayed at her home and she kept them entertained and feeling safe and loved. One of my dogs gets anxious so she gave her toys and played soothing music. It was a great experience to leave them with her over the Holidays!”
“Shane is incredible! This was my first time leaving my new rescue pup who is very shy, he won’t let many people even get close to him and Shane sent me a video of them cuddling on the couch. ❤️ Shane was so kind and gentle with my pup. I’m so grateful how awesome it worked out. Plus, his two dogs are very chill and well behaved which was also great for my pup to play with them. Can't recommend Shane enough! There's more, his location is also amazing for the dogs because it’s far from any busy streets and right by a trailhead. 🙌”

“Angelique went above and beyond keeping our house cared for during the holidays/biggest snowstorm in fifty years. It was a mission for anyone to even exist during those few days and she made sure that our cat was cared for and safe. Plus making sure we had a path to get to the house when we returned, so incredible. Thank you!”

“Our cats were having the time of their lives while we were gone with Lyndsey! We loved seeing all of the photos and videos of them playing and it was so comforting knowing they were so well taken care of, played with, loved on and cleaned up after! I’m so glad we had her to come check on them while we were gone for the week and will absolutely book again!”

About: Greetings. I’ve had a best friend who was with me everyday for 15 years. I was with her from the beginning to the end. I am sensitive to the needs of our dogs and always very aware of our surroundings. I’m ultra aware of the cayotes up here and all their tricks. With the new smells and distractions for some dogs that are not from here I always feel safer to keep them on leash during our walks. I live alone in a quiet cabin on a quiet street, no traffic and no neighbors. Big fenced back yard and a small gated front porch. I know all the trails in Sierra track as well as the whole area. I’m very flexible and will take care of all the little things that are needed and the unexpected ones that pop up. I know how stressfull it can be traveling and then leaving your best friend with someone. I will communicate with you and make it easy and stress free. It’s a big adjustment not having my sweet girl Francis. I was so used to waking up and she was there, or coming home and she was sitting in my spot waiting for me. Honestly this is good for me having a dog around. It’s helping with this process I’m going through. I am very flexible and available almost anytime and on short notice if life happens. I know how that goes. I know the trails and areas to go that are safe and fun. Im an early riser, and I enjoy mornings walks when it’s nice and quiet with no traffic or crowds of people. I have no problem with taking the pup with me in the car to run a quick errand or even better a day trip somewhere. Some dogs love car rides with the window down and nose out. And some do not. It’s all optional, absolutely no problems leaving him or her at home while I’m out for a sec. I primarily work from home and would be with him/her almost all the time. My dog Francis was a little attached. Maybe loyal is a better word. I was very lucky with her and didn’t have to worry too much. But I learned to never ever let anything happen to her. Very aware of our environment. Cars, other dogs, cayotes, bees , bodies of water and all weather conditions, hot pavement and even to always avoid the drains/grates in the roads ect. I’m not disactred by my phone or anything else. I’ll only feed what the owner approves.
“Natalie has been amazing with our 4-month old pup! She’s been coming regularly to walk/play/feed him, and is super responsive, reliable, always updates me, and most importantly, our puppy loves Natalie! She’s also brought her dog with her (after asking me if it was ok, which I gladly said yes to!), and her dog has also been great with my puppy and helps tire him out:) would highly recommend.”

“Very satisfied with our pet sitter. He fed our cats, cleaned their litter boxes, and played with them. He was also in constant communication so we got pictures and updates. We'll definitely hire them again.”
“Stephanie took extra care with our dogs and their unique care situations and asked good questions when she wasn’t sure about how we do things. She was great with our older dogs and our cat!”

“Maddie did a great job watching our cat while we were out of town. She is a great communicator and provided us with great pictures of our kitty every day. Our cat can be standoffish with new people, but Maddie was able to gain his trust quickly. We would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter!”

“Adam was the best!!! We were scrambling to get a dog sitter last minute due to some change in family plans and he was the most helpful one! He was even willing to pick up Diesel closer to our destination since we were almost late for our trip. Will definitely book him next time!!”

“Teeda took thoughtful care of my dogs, took them on long walks, and sent me updates throughout the day! She was very attentive to how they behaved. Would definitely book with her again.”

“Jan was AMAZING! I’d give 6 stars if I could. Jan took Toby to the beach and sent us loads of photos. Toby was exhausted when we got home(as any dog owner knows, this is a good thing!). Also shows that Jan was out and about with our little one, which we are also super appreciate of! We will use Jan again the next time we are in Tahoe.”

About: As lifelong dog owners ourselves, we understand how important it is to know your pet is safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away. We have experience volunteering at the humane society, and have spent the last few years pet sitting dogs with different personalities, routines, and needs. Whether they need long walks, playtime, or just some cuddles on the couch, our goal is to stick to your dog's normal routine and treat them like one of our own. Dan and I both work in the restaurant industry, which gives us a flexible schedule. We work 3–4 days a week and often work opposite shifts, so one of us is usually home or available throughout the day. If we do work the same day, our shifts are in the evening, so we still have the entire morning and afternoon to spend with your pet. We make it a priority to provide plenty of attention, playtime, and love so your pet feels comfortable with us. We want every pet to feel at home while in our care. We have a fenced-in backyard and live just minutes from the marsh and beach, which gives us plenty of opportunities for walks, outdoor adventures, and playtime. If your dog prefers to be the only pet or does not do well with other dogs, we are happy to provide care in your home instead. We understand that every owner has their own routines and expectations, and we will always respect your instructions and your pet’s needs. At our home, dogs are welcome on the couch, are surrounded by toys, and can hang out in backyard to sunbathe and roam free. Whether your pet is staying with us or we are caring for them in their own home, our goal is to create a safe, trusting, and stress-free environment for both owner and doggo.
About: I've owned Australian Cattle Dogs (red/blue heelers) my entire life. My beloved most recent 12 year old Red Heeler named Austin passed away last summer. I now travel too much for work to consider getting another pet myself, but would love to borrow some to get my four legged furry fix. I am self employed professional photographer with a flexible weekly schedule and I work from home, except when I am out photographing clients. I would love to be a trusted fill-in for your standards of interaction with your pal if our schedules align. Please note that I am NOT a good fit for pandemic animals that cannot be left unattended or have separation anxiety. If your dog cannot be left alone for a few hours at a time you'll need to look elsewhere. I have a fenced yard and a dog door for access. I would prefer to care for dogs in my home but open to house sitting also.
“Teresa was fantastic! We reached out just three days before needing care for our two dogs, and she was incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with from the start. She sent us photo updates while we were away, which we really appreciated and gave us peace of mind. We were visiting from out of town, but we come to the area quarterly and will absolutely be using Teresa again in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Kelly is AMAZING. She dog-sat my 3 month old puppy Layla and did a fantastic job. Layla didn't even want to leave at the end of the day. Kelly took the time to do a meet and greet and took lots of notes. She took Layla to a fenced in yard and played with her for hours. She gives all of her attention to her client which i really appreciated.”

“Tim was AMAZING. He accepted a very last minute request to entertain Ruba while I was working. He took her on adventures and kept me in the loop the entire time. She enjoyed it so much, we booked again the next day. Fantastic communication, flexibility and pet friendship.”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs my entire life, which means caring for four-legged family members is second nature to me. As my family and friend’s resident dog sitter, I have hands on experience with pups of all shapes, sizes, and personalities from high energy giants to tiny couch potatoes. I am passionate about keeping dogs active and healthy, so you can count on me to provide plenty of outdoor time and engaging walks. I look forward to meeting your furry friend and providing them with a safe, fun, and loving environment while you're away! As a full-time remote worker, my schedule is highly flexible! Pet care fits seamlessly into my day, allowing me to offer reliable windows for walks and drop-ins. My 'portable' office also makes me a great fit for house sitting, as I can work right from your home and keep your pet company. Weekends are equally open and flexible for whatever your pet needs! I believe the best environment for a pet is one that closely mirrors their usual routine. Whether I am house sitting or dropping in, I strictly follow your specific guidelines for feeding and house rules. During house sittings and drop-ins, I respect your home as if it were my own—keeping things clean, secure, and locked up. When we are out on walks, your dog will always be kept on a secure, standard leash, and I maintain a strict 'no greeting' policy with unfamiliar dogs to prevent any unpredictable interactions. I am deeply observant of body language to ensure your pet is happy, comfortable, and never stressed. I also believe that communication builds trust, so you can always expect timely photo updates and detailed Rover cards after every visit!
“Elyse helped us with dog walking and our dog was always happy to see her! She was reliable and easy to communicate with. We wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to her again.”

“Alena is fantastic! We were headed to Dry Tortugas Park in the Florida Keyes for the day and couldn't take our dog "JoJo" with us. The previous day she suggested a meet & greet (which I didn't even know was a "thing"). JoJo connected with her right away. And from the pictures she sent, JoJo is smiling and happy. I would definitely recommend her and would hire her again.”

“So grateful I found Adam here on Rover! I needed a last minute dog walker and he was able to book the same day. I have a high energy dog and he was kind and knowledgeable to offer to run her - which she needs and loves! I’ll definitely book again.”

About: Dogs have always been part of my life. My family has trained working dogs, including avalanche and search-and-rescue dogs, which gave me a deep respect for canine behavior, safety, and communication. I’ve owned high-energy breeds like huskies and now have a playful golden retriever. Whether your dog loves long walks or quiet companionship, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and happy. I work from home as an independent contractor, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability for walks and check-ins throughout the day. I love being outside, enjoy longer walks, and I’m currently training for an ultramarathon—so your dog will always have a willing, energetic walking partner. Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first. I take time to learn each dog’s routine, energy level, and any special needs so I can keep their day feeling familiar and stress-free. I use leashes on all walks unless otherwise requested, avoid unsafe areas, and closely monitor weather and trail conditions here in Tahoe.

For your peace of mind, I maintain an active Wilderness EMT certification, and my trail kit always includes canine-specific tourniquets and first aid. Flexible schedule. We prefer early, especially before a summer crowd, so that there is some safe space for everyone to run off leash and feel the freedom we all deserve.

“Highly recommended!! 🌟 Lauren is amazing! She took such good care of Henry, I wasn't sure if he'd want to come home! 🤣 We loved the daily photo updates of their out & about adventures or their indoor cozy seshs. Henry looked so happy & relaxed. Shout out to Lauren's good friend Charmaine who Henry also had the pleasure of hanging out with! Lauren, you are now on speed dial for pet sitting! 😉 Thank you so much for everything! Happy Happy Holidays & Happy New Year! 🎄🎆 pS... Henry says he misses you both! 🐕”

“Teresa was great with my dog Pappy- she listened to what he liked and was able to take him trail hiking to play in the creek away from other dogs. She sent me photos and videos each day and made me feel at ease that he was well taken care of. Will definitely call her again should the need arise!”
