“We took our fearful little guy, Charlie, to Mariah and Neil’s house as a get- to - know- you- while -Mom- and Dad- are present visit. This was a first venture for our doggie Charlie and us, not a traditional dog-sitting event. We really liked Mariah and Neil. We were impressed with their kindness and awareness in dealing with dogs in their home. We felt they were honest in describing Charlie’s expected behavior in first being boarded with them, and we loved that. We know our dog well enough to know that leaving him in a strange new house wouldn’t immediately (particularly for a fearful dog like Charlie) be all roses and chumminess. We did leave him for about 15 minutes alone with Mariah and Neil (“ fearful parents, not so much fearful dog!”) and Charlie reacted just as Neil and Mariah predicted. Their home feels warm and loving. They have two really adorable pups who are obviously loved and well-adjusted. We would recommend Neil and Mariah as carers and will definitely be trying to book them again soon!”
About: I have three pets, two dogs and one cat. I am responsible for feeding them, replacing the pee pads, cleaning up the litter, and walking the dogs. I have had my dogs for over ten years and they have helped me through tough times, and I want to help other dogs who need help whenever the owner is busy. My cat follows me wherever I go and climbs on my shoulders like a parrot, and my dogs come to me when they are scared. I am available every day including holidays (I rather hang out with your pets than be with my family, don't tell them). However, I am a college student. On Mondays, I'll be unavailable from 2:30-8:00 p.m. On Tuesdays, I'll be available by 1:00 p.m. On Wednesdays, I'll be unavailable from 12:30-4:00 p.m. On Thursdays, I'll be unavailable from 10:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. & 6:00-8:00 p.m. From Friday to Sunday, I'm free. I am someone who is emotionally attached to animals, so I will do everything I can to make sure your pet is safe and healthy, such as not letting them go outside by your request, keeping them away from toxic and poisonous foods, and keeping a sharp eye on them to make sure they don't hurt themselves.

About: I have always loved working around pets. I used to work at the pets hotel doggie day camp in Pet Smart. Having a dog of my own, I know what it takes to properly care for them , clean up after them, and take them outside when needed. What sets me apart is I would go the extra mile if needed of course to really ensure that the dogs I am taking care feel comfortable around me and they are excited when I come to the door to take them out for a walk. I am completely available during the week and weekend, full unbridled availability. walking pets would be great for my exercise along with the physical health of the dog of course (or cat). I had a cat and a dog that I regularly care for daily, I have a set time for feeding the dog and cat at 5PM every day, and of course breakfast at 8 AM before that, and I would make sure to have my dog go out back when needed and to clean up after him, and we also have his usually vet appointments as well. For my cat, we fed him three times a day like my dog and clean his litter box and refill it twice a day.

About: I have experience with dogs and cats, young and old, easy and "difficult". I am very adept at walking and caring for reactive dogs who can have a hard time with other dogs and/or humans, and do my best to avoid any situations that can trigger reactive behaviors. About: Dogs have been apart of my life since I was 8 years old. Personally I took care of a Boston terrier and that is the only breed that Ive worked with in my house. Other breeds that I’ve had experience with our my neighbors dogs including different types of Pitbulls and huskies. I am very comfortable with larger dog find them to be huge lovers. I am welcome to any size dog i know I can handle and take care of them based on my personal experience with my own pets and neighbors pets. My neighbors pets have been in my life longer than the Boston terrier that we got as a family dog. My family has now had three Boston terriers throughout my lifetime. I am currently a full-time Cal poly Humboldt student, but I have 1 to 2 hour breaks between most of my classes and I’m free in the evenings for dog walking throughout the day. I am currently moved out of my parents house so I don’t have any pets in my home but I have a fenced off backyard and is spacious living area if they need to stay overnight that is OK. About: Hi, I’m Virgo (formerly Jeremy)! I’ve been dog sitting my friends’ dogs for about 10yrs, and working for a dog trainer for about 2yrs. (My parents tell me I’ve loved dogs my whole life, but I can only partly confirm.) A few things I like about dog sitting is discovering their personalities and learning how to interprete and anticipate their needs. I’m not intimidated by high-energy/high-intelligence dogs either! About: I own a 7 acre property that is a short drive up Fickle Hill Rd in Arcata! It includes a private trail with access to the community forest and a very large fenced in yard. I have a 1 year old female German Shepherd (Sabine) who is very well trained and LOVES to play with other dogs. I’ve been working with animals my entire life but started officially dog sitting and walking about 10 years ago! I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes and personalities and feel comfortable and confident in my care abilities. Locally I have done in home care both long term and short term. Now that I have this large property I would like to do more of a doggy day care! I am capable of providing training, grooming, as well as daily exercise and enrichment activities! About: I've had large dogs since 1997. Currently I have 2 amazing dogs. A 3 legged great burnese, and a 1.2yr old burnese Mt. Dog. They are sweet and wonderful dogs with great manners and are super dog friendly. I also have 2 cats. Rick and Morty. They are a pair. Also very sweet and affectionate once they know you. They are indoor/outdoor 24/7 but avoid dogs. The love of my furry friends reflects who I am. I have 5 acres. This allows my dogs to mostly roam free as they stay close to home. It gives other dogs the opportunity to have a place to run around and play with other good dogs. There are also multiple leads amongst the property, as well as a gated and covered outside area if your pet isn't used to either of those situations. I spend almost all of my days working from home. So other than the occasional errand, I'm home. Otherwise, I exist for you and yours. My pets have water and food at all times. It's under a covered area so they are able to stay in the shade if they like. Otherwise my dogs are free to roam as they generally stay on the property. My property is not fenced. However with this undertaking dogs can be placed in the covered area when needed. They can be leaded if that's what you want. As well they are welcome in the house at any time. Your pets are free to relax anywhere they like. My dogs are very sweet and friendly. My 3 legged dog is not one to get to excited as he only has 3 legs. For the right dogs, my property is a paradise.

I also have experience caring for small and furry (rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs) as well as scaly (fish, snakes, turtles). My schedule is fairly flexible and I will accept bookings Mon-Sun from 8am to 5pm. I prefer to do an free consultation with your dog before you book your first walk. About: Hi, I’m Virgo (formerly Jeremy)! I’ve been dog sitting my friends’ dogs for about 10yrs, and working for a dog trainer for about 2yrs. (My parents tell me I’ve loved dogs my whole life, but I can only partly confirm.) A few things I like about dog sitting is discovering their personalities and learning how to interprete and anticipate their needs. I’m not intimidated by high-energy/high-intelligence dogs either! “We took our fearful little guy, Charlie, to Mariah and Neil’s house as a get- to - know- you- while -Mom- and Dad- are present visit. This was a first venture for our doggie Charlie and us, not a traditional dog-sitting event. We really liked Mariah and Neil. We were impressed with their kindness and awareness in dealing with dogs in their home. We felt they were honest in describing Charlie’s expected behavior in first being boarded with them, and we loved that. We know our dog well enough to know that leaving him in a strange new house wouldn’t immediately (particularly for a fearful dog like Charlie) be all roses and chumminess. We did leave him for about 15 minutes alone with Mariah and Neil (“ fearful parents, not so much fearful dog!”) and Charlie reacted just as Neil and Mariah predicted. Their home feels warm and loving. They have two really adorable pups who are obviously loved and well-adjusted. We would recommend Neil and Mariah as carers and will definitely be trying to book them again soon!”

Both are known to struggle with other dogs, including each other. I was honestly preparing for this to simply be a safe, calm stay...what we got was something truly incredible. From the very beginning, Mark asked all the right questions about behavior, needs, routines and safety. It was clear he understood these were not "easy" dogs and approach their care with thoughtfulness, patience and professionalism.
