About: I’ve taken care of dogs and owned my own for over 30 years. I’ve house trained my own dogs from puppy stage to senior age. I currently own a Siberian Husky and care for two additional huskies. I enjoy brushing, playing and bathing them. I’m retired and pretty much available all week, unless I leave to visit family. My schedule is very flexible although I do have a feeding routine for my own dog (am and pm). I have a decent size yard that is fenced. I have a 4 year old Siberian Husky who is very friendly and loves to play. I do crate dogs if they get out of hand and need timeouts. I allow dogs inside and outside. I’ve been around dogs my entire life and treat them like part of the family.

“Rocky can be a picky dog, with humans and dogs. When I dropped him off for daycare I was so nervous that he wouldn’t play nice and would wreak havoc. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I picked him up and they said he did great. By the time we got home, he was snoring away. Jill and Liz did great with Rocky and he will definitely be back! “Shanna is great. She has been patient and collaborative in planning for my Roxie's care. We had a meet and greet, then a short daycare stay, then a full day of daycare. She is well versed in dog behavior. My dog, coincidentally a "pitbull type" is often categorized and judged as "vicious or aggressive" even before people meet her. I've had dog sitters on Rover decline to provide services simply because of her breed or her appearance. Shanna understands that Roxie is a dog: a dog with her own level of prey drive (so Roxie is not allowed in her daughter's room cause of the hamster she has); a dog with some anxiety who barked at her husband when he came into the house. They didn't freak out. Shanna understood Roxie's behavior and worked through it, allowing Roxie to get to know her husband, settle and move on. I truly appreciate her family's openness and acceptance. We have two more full days of daycare booked and if all continues well, we will book boarding services. Roxie is people and dog friendly, but the discrimination we have experienced on Rover, leads me to take things in a new daycare/boarding situation slowly. About: I am a Fear Free certified veterinary technician of 13 years who grew up in the show dog world (AKC) before getting into rescue as an adult. About: I began to offer pet-sitting to friends and family just for some dog breath and tail wags in my life after my dog passed away. A family member told me about Rover and - here I am! I know how important pets are to the families they love and how important it is to have peace of mind that they are in good hands while you're away. I will ensure that your fur baby has all that they need while they wait on their favorite human/s to come home. I've taken care of dogs for most of my life. My childhood dog was one of my best friends. We would play together for hours and I was responsible to feed, bathe, and clean up after him. He loved belly rubs and going with us on family walks. I'm very comfortable taking care of senior dogs and dogs with medical needs. When my childhood dog was attacked, I was the one who flushed and cleaned his wounds, changed his bandages, and nursed him back to health after he came home from the vet. He became diabetic when he grew old and I gave him his insulin shots. As an adult, I adopted a pit-mix rescue and we enjoyed obedience training, going to the dog park, car rides for a pup cup, going for walks, and playing tug-of-war. At 14 years old, he was diagnosed with an oral tumor and he needed lots of extra care during his last months. He needed medication 3 times a day, a specialized diet when it became difficult for him to eat kibble, and eventually hand-feeding for him to be able to eat at all. He passed away 14 years old. I wouldn't trade one minute. In addition to dogs, I've taken care of geckos, an iguana, fish, water turtles, parakeets and cockatiels. I'm happy to care for any type of animal. I'm currently working part-time in the morning and would love to spend my afternoons with animals. If you need someone to care for your pet mid-day, we're the perfect match. I provide care where your pet feels safest - in their own home environment. Please leave me detailed instructions so I know where to find their food and food bowl, leash, toys, medications, etc. If you have spacial boundaries for your pet such as not being allowed on the couch or bed, in specific rooms, or if they are outside-dog only, etc., please let me know so I can respect and enforce those boundaries.

Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me to care for their pets because I’m patient, responsible, and attentive. I currently have a part time schedule but also flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention, playtime, and care throughout the day. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, pet sitting, and overnight care depending on your needs. I’m reliable with feeding schedules, bathroom breaks, exercise, and keeping pets comfortable while their owners are away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I make sure pets are supervised, well cared for, and kept in a clean, calm environment. I carefully follow any routines, feeding instructions, medications, or special care requests provided by owners. I’m patient, attentive, and focused on making pets feel safe, loved, and stress-free while in my care.
About: I’ve taken care of multiple pets before and even had my own. I taken care of pets for a year in 2025 and now I’m wanting to start taking of them again. I’m currently working a part time job and looking for another job to make a little extra money on the side to save up for my car. I just graduated high school and just looking to take care of any animals. About: I am a Fear Free certified veterinary technician of 13 years who grew up in the show dog world (AKC) before getting into rescue as an adult. Throughout my long-lived animal career I have participated in puppy/kitten/basic obedience training, behavioral rehabilitation, dog sport training, senior care, care for animals with extreme medical needs, and owned/operated a group play doggie daycare. My jobs, hobbies, and passions are all centered around animals and I can't wait to bring that passion to you! I am home full-time, and available for puppies and animals with heavy needs. I have a fairly set schedule for all of the pets in my care, and that level of routine provides comfort to even the most nervous of pups. I am the only Fear Free pet carer in Bakersfield! I provide comforting classical music as well as calming pheromones in the sleeping spaces to make their stay as stress-free as possible. I have a fenced yard and never leave dogs together unsupervised. I do not provide an environment suitable for animals with a history of dog aggression. Small dogs I can be more flexible with, as their attitude usually comes from a place of fear and that is something I can work with for the little guys.
About: As someone who has owned pets, I have years of experience in caring for cats, dogs, lizards, bunnies and more! When I could not locate a proper groomer for my shihtzu, I learned how cut my dog’s hair and clip his nails. When I owned cats, I did extensive research on diet to ensure they had all the nutrition they needed. I’m still fairly new to owning bunnies but I have learned a lot from vet visits and testimonials from other bun parents! I work two other jobs but I make my own schedule so I can fit late afternoon and nightly check ins, baths, walks, overnight sitting, and errands into my day if that’s what you’d like. I would love to spend as much time as I can making sure that your pet is well loved and taken care of. I don’t want to break an animal’s routine so if you have your pet on a schedule/routine, diet, or regiment of some sort, I plan to stick to that.

About: I’m a lifelong dog lover who has lived with 5 different dogs over the years and cared for friends’ and neighbors’ dogs as well when needed. In our free time alone, my dog Yeager and I like to go on adventures hiking and camping together. When I care for your dog, they will have all the love, play, and attention they need since I am at home full time. I am at home full time to care for your pet. About: I’ve been taking care of homes & pets since I was 11 years old. I always make sure there is a safe environment and room for a pet to be themselves. I look forward to caring for your sweet animals!:) I currently work part time and am home quite a bit so I have ample time to spend with your dog. I also have a massive backyard with grass area, plants, and a pool if they like swimming. My priority is to make sure that your pet feels comfortable around me regardless of the environment.
