“We were happy to leave Ringo with Adele, he was made to feel comfortable, at an earlier meet and greet appointment, so when we arrived to drop him off yesterday, for the day, he was happy with his surroundings and felt at ease. Adele sent us updates with photos throughout the day, which we were pleased with as we could see that Ringo was having fun. We are happy to rebook with Adele again. Kind Regards Phil & Liz Lake 😊”

“Thank you Jan for taking such excellent care of our little lady. We feel so blessed to have found someone who is professional yet so caring and somehow instantly created a home from home for Lucrezia. Perfect! We look forward to her upcoming next stay.”

Highly recommended always can relax knowing she’s being loved and cared for with updated pics and messages even a birthday message for my daughter from honey was so lovely and thoughtful. Thank you again will definitely be back for more dog sitting in the future.”

“Amy and her daughter are really lovely caring people. Amy asked lots of responsible questions ahead of the stay. Lovely clean house and near green space. I felt confident to leave my dog with Amy. I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.”

“Highly recommend! my dog had the most amazing weekend and won’t be going anywhere else in future only to Bonnie she updated me with constant photos day and night, I’m very pleased I had a very happy dog x”

About: Myself and my partner have both grown up around dogs. We look after family and friends dogs as well as our 1 year 8 month old Beagle called Rolo who we welcomed in to our family from 8 weeks old. He is treated like a prince👑 as will your furbaby while staying with us. Any training you’re currently doing or want us to start can be carried on whilst you’re on holiday. I am currently on Maternity Leave so I am able to give all the love and attention to make your furbaby feel comfortable, safe and at home. My partner Tom is home of an evening and takes Rolo (our dog) for his evening walk and gives him plenty of loving fuss as he will with yours! We have a fenced garden and have an energetic Beagle to keep your furbaby company while they’re here on their holidays. Crate trained dogs only please! Also If that’s something we can help you with we are more than happy to help. Your furbaby must be ok with other dogs and young children/babies. No furbaby’s in the bed but welcome on the sofa for a lovely cuddle and cheeky post walk nap (if they would like)!
“Having not put Chippie into someone’s house other than family before I was very anxious. Jessica and her partner Alex were amazing and sent us pictures with Chippie looking very happy and relaxed during his stay. I definitely would recommend Jessica and I’m sure it won’t be too long to see if I can book again.”

“I can’t say anymore than fantastic, Dora loved her stay, loved Nelly!!!! and now she’s home is missing them all. Won’t leave Dora with anyone else but Abby, she gives five star treatment, and made Dora part of the family. Thank you, thank you, thank you 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟”

“Cannot recommend Abi enough. Our boy had the absolute best time with her and Rory and Abi kept us updated and sent over lots of pictures and videos. She also gave us the cutest little 'staycation' card from his visit including a little pawprint. Thank you so much Abi 💙”

“Our dog Alfie had a wonderful stay with Nick and Louise. It was his first stay with them and he was quite apprehensive with me leaving him. He soon settled and Nick kept me posted with photos and updates which put my mind at rest. Alfie was very relaxed when I came to pick him up which proved he had been well cared for. I would have no hesitation in using Nick and Louise again.”

“My first time having dog sitters look after my 14 year old puggle. I fell on my feet, Ann and Jacques were welcoming, thoughtful, kind and that was just to me when I first met them. They were so genuine and clearly love dogs. They enjoyed Snoop and all his quirks, and I had zero concerns when leaving him with them. I got fab pics and notes sent to me. He had the best holiday. I won’t hesitate using them both again. He was 100% spoilt with love and attention. Oh and asking me to bring ‘all’ his beds etc and literally everything to make him happy made me know I had chosen the right people. They were just so accommodating. I’m just worried they will be booked up next time I need them! ♥️”

“I felt very happy leaving Toby with Mat and his family . They’re clearly experienced dog lovers and I had no worries. I got lots of updates and lovey photos of Toby while I was away and he was clearly very happy and loving life. I would definitely love them to have Toby again next time I go away.”

“I would 100% recommend Gemma and her family. Gemma responded really quickly to my request, invited us over, listened and understood our tricky spaniel and his anxieties. They were not phased at all and Chester loved their dog straight away and they were off in the garden running around. They took him on adventures to the park and also for a lovely beach day, and sent lots of photos. I honestly could not have felt happier leaving him anywhere. Such a lovely friendly family and their children loved Chester and made a fuss of him too.”

“Lisa and her daughter looked after Ernie like he was their own. They gave regular updates and pics and I could see when I collected him he was sad to be leaving them. I will most definitely be using Lisa again to look after Ernie. Thank you for the great service and Ernie thanks you too.”

Megan was brilliant! The most perfect person you could ever wish to take care of your pups. Our dogs felt right at home the moment they stepped foot in her house. She’s so calm and loving and treated our dogs as her own. Will definitely look to book Megan next time we’re away. Thank you so much! ❤️☺️

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
