About: I am happiest when with dogs, they really are man’s best friend. I am always pottering in the garden when it’s nice, or reading by the fire when it’s not! We also have lovely woods to walk in nearby. I have had dogs for as long as I can remember, but no longer have my own. I am retired and love spending time with dogs. We live in the beautiful Burghley estate so are truly spoilt for walking spots. I am up early to feed the chickens and more often than not, tending to my garden. Would be happy to have some canine company. I have a fully dog proofed garden with large lawn and plenty of space to explore. We have a long driveway, and gate, not that many cars come this way! We walk a minute to beautiful wooded areas

About: I have always had a strong love for animals, especially dogs, as I grew up surrounded by lots of different pets. Being around animals from a young age has helped me develop a natural understanding of how to care for them, be patient with them, and make sure they feel safe, happy and comfortable. My experience as a dog sitter is something I really enjoy because I love spending time with dogs and getting to know their individual personalities and needs. I understand the importance of giving them plenty of attention, exercise, fresh air and companionship while their owners are away. One of my favourite parts of dog sitting is taking dogs out for walks. I enjoy giving them the opportunity to explore, exercise and have fun, while also benefiting from being outdoors myself. Going for regular walks with a dog helps me stay active and supports my own health and wellbeing, making it something that I find both enjoyable and rewarding. Overall, looking after dogs is something I am passionate about. Growing up with pets, combined with my experience caring for animals, has taught me to be responsible, caring and attentive. I would always treat someone else's dog with the same care and respect that I would give to my own pets. Working from home allows me to provide dogs with the attention, care and companionship they need throughout the day. Because I work remotely, I have the flexibility to take regular breaks to feed them, let them outside, give them attention and take them out for walks. Being at home also means dogs are not left alone for long periods of time, which can help them feel more comfortable and settled. I can easily fit walks and playtime around my working schedule while still making sure my work commitments are met. I really enjoy being around dogs while I work, and I believe my home-based routine is ideal for dog sitting. It allows me to give each dog plenty of care and attention while providing a safe, calm and loving environment for them. Although my garden is on the smaller side, it is fully fenced and provides a safe and secure space for dogs to have regular toilet breaks and get some fresh air throughout the day. I understand that the garden is not intended to replace proper walks and exercise, but it is a convenient and secure space for quick toilet breaks whenever needed. I also live next to a beautiful bank and walking area, which is perfect for giving dogs plenty of exercise and outdoor stimulation. I regularly take my family’s dog there for walks and really enjoy spending time outdoors with him. The area provides a lovely environment for dogs to explore, get some exercise and enjoy their surroundings. Having both a secure garden and such a beautiful walking area nearby means I can provide dogs with regular toilet breaks, exercise and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.

“Helen looked after both our dogs at short notice, after an initial meeting with the dogs where Helen interacted with both of our dogs and then looked after them a week later Helen communicated with us brilliantly with photos of the dogs on walks and what they were doing in Helen’s house Helen administered our larger dogs medication as he’s just had an operation and also was great as we were waiting for scan results for him and could easily of not looked after them but Helen loved the company and both of our dogs loved the attention We would have no hesitation in recommending Helen or booking again and have already seen about them going back to Helen for when we move property Thanks Helen for doing a brilliant job with them both much appreciated”

They gave us frequent updates and photos, took our very energetic Australian Shepherd on lots of long walks, and stuck closely to her routine. When we collected her, they gave us a detailed rundown of her stay and even gave us some candles to thank us for choosing them! They seemed genuinely delighted to have Evie and made her feel like part of their family, rather than simply treating dog sitting as a business. We’d happily book with them again!”

Both dogs were more than happy with Bradley which was great to see from my more nervous people cocker spaniel and my puppy was clearly enjoying herself and having fun playing with Lincoln. Whilst ollie the older cocker spaniel enjoyed quuer cuddles. Bradley sent us plenty of pictures of them which was really reassuring and responded quickly to any questions we had. Will certainly use Bradley again as its always nice when you find a home from home that your dogs are settled and comfortable with. Would also recommend to friends.”
