About: My home has a fenced in yard and is located between the golf resort and the village. I have had 3 border collies and dog sit for friends and family. I am very calm and disciplined with pets and I feel I can keep your training and eating habits on track. I am at home and rarely leave Tubac during the day. My house is set up for dogs and I enjoy their company. The walled yard is 4 feet high - my casita has a dog door if needed. If you have special diets, habits, furniture or other rules, I will follow them. I only take one household of dog(s) at a time - unless you personally have more than one. I will never contact a vet without your permission unless I cannot reach you.
“Candida was wonderful with our kitty. She even texted pictures so I could see her. We weren’t worried at all about leaving Taffy in Candida’s care. We will definitely ask her again if we are planning a trip.”

About: Hi! I am Susan. I live in Goodyear, AZ with my two dogs Jimmy and Bambi. I am home most of the day except when I work which is only a few hours three days per week. I am also one of the Rover Premier Sitters who has undergone advanced screening that culminated in a face-to-face in-home interview with a home inspection. I believe there is really something special about every dog. I appreciate having the chance to care for your best friends and welcome them into my family. With my experience as a veterinary technician for over thirty years, I can promise you won’t be worried leaving your dog with the Rover Premier Sitter. Your dogs will be happy and really on their own vacation while you are gone. I look forward to hearing from you and meeting you and your dog(s)! Why I love dog sitting I have always been a dog lover ever since I was a child. I became a veterinary technician when I was 18 years old, and I am currently still active in the field 30 years later. I also have a friend who is a veterinarian who lives nearby. Meet my pets I have two very friendly small dogs: Jimmy and Bambi who are Chihuahua mixes. All my dogs love other dogs and are up to date on their vaccines. About my yard My yard is completely enclosed by an 8 foot fence with an overhang as well as a snake mesh. I am a certified veterinary technician. I am semi-retired so my work hours are minimal and flexible. My life revolves around my pets so they are always a priority as your pet would be also. My fence was designed for maximum safety. There is an overhang present to prevent predators from climbing over. There is also a snake mesh present to keep out snakes and other dangerous pests.
“Averi was amazing with being flexible to meet Titans needs. She was very open and communicative during their first visit together. We are excited to have her spend more time with Titan. He seemed to really like her and felt comfortable and safe with her.”

Whether your pet is a high-energy puppy, a senior needing medical support, or a "giant" breed who needs a confident handler, I have the skills to ensure they are safe and happy while you're away. Because I am currently an online student at Pima Community College, my schedule is incredibly flexible and home-based. This is a major benefit for your pets because it means I am physically present in your home for the majority of the day. My priority is maintaining a 'Stress-Free' environment that mirrors your pet's normal routine. Because of my Fear Free certification, I focus on 'low-stress' handling—I never force an interaction and always let your pet approach me at their own pace.

About: Animals deserve the best of care at all times, even when their families can't provide it at all times. From dogs who love to cuddle and hate the outside heat to dogs whose energy never reaches its end, there is one way or another to break our 'species' barrier and connect~ Walks can take any length of time multiple times a day, usually I always have treats with me on walks and work on the dog not pulling on it's leash and doing occasional sits and 'look at me's. House sitting is usually better for me on weekends if required overnight, but my schedule as a remote worker and student is very flexible <3 I’m currently working as a dog trainer, it is my main source of income. I also have a service dog in training which I constantly work with and have cared for multiple pets through out the days fitted into my schedule. I am always doing my best to keep a watchful eye on the dogs while allowing them room to adjust to me and their environment . I encourage freedom and play in dogs with safety in mind.
About: I’ve had the privilege of raising my Doberman since she was a puppy, which has given me extensive experience in training, socializing, and caring for her as she grows. I’m well-versed in managing her high energy levels through regular exercise, play, and training sessions. I’ve developed a strong bond with her, understanding her needs for mental stimulation, positive reinforcement, and structure. From her puppyhood to adulthood, I’ve cared for her every step of the way, learning how to meet her individual needs—whether it’s adjusting exercise routines, maintaining a healthy diet, or addressing behavior issues. I’m committed to providing consistent care, love, and attention to ensure she remains happy, healthy, and well-adjusted. Pet care is an essential part of my daily life. Each morning starts with a walk to help my Doberman burn off energy and set the tone for the day. After feeding her, we spend time training, playing, or engaging in mentally stimulating activities. Throughout the day, I make sure she has opportunities for exercise, whether it's a backyard session or a game of fetch. On a weekly basis, I adjust her routine to ensure a mix of physical activity, mental stimulation, and relaxation. I set aside time for grooming, health checks, and reinforcing positive behaviors. I also stay on top of her diet and adjust exercise based on her energy levels, always making sure she’s balanced and happy. Whether it’s early mornings, mid-day breaks, or evening wind-downs, my dog’s needs are woven into every part of my routine, creating a structured yet flexible schedule for both of us. Whether in my own home or a client's, I provide consistent, loving care. I follow familiar routines—feeding, walks, playtime, and training—ensuring pets feel secure and happy. In a client's home, I make sure their pets are comfortable, safe, and well-cared for, with regular updates to keep owners informed. My goal is to offer peace of mind while treating every pet like my own.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Tubac. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
