Zach brings decades of hands-on experience with dogs, starting with his time as a military policeman working alongside handlers and military working dogs. Those early observations of trust-based, respectful relationships with canines shaped his core philosophy: positive reinforcement is not just kinder—it’s more effective and reliable than outdated punitive methods. He exclusively uses humane, motivational techniques—rewards like treats, praise, play, and tailored motivators—to build confidence and cooperation while fostering deep trust between dog and owner.

Consultation
Typical consultations are low stress intended as a fact finding mission. We want to establish where everyone is at regarding experience and knowledge. That’s both pup and parent so we can establish goals and concerning behaviors to address. All dogs like us tend to start from a different place knowing that will help determine where to begin with your dog. I believe that any dog can be acclimated to their person as long as that person is committed to a consistent pattern of positive influence and routine.
Sessions
In a typical training session, we will work to establish trust and familiarity through leash training, positive reinforcement, and then get right to working on areas of interest.
More info
I am a positive reinforcement dog trainer with decades of experience as an owner and handler. My foundation comes from serving as a military policeman, observing trust-based relationships with military working dogs—emphasizing respect over punishment. Since 2018, I have safely handled hundreds of dogs on Rover, growing skills daily. In 2024, completed the an 8-week PAWS Training Program (via VA & Dogs for Life), focused on modern dog psychology and up-to-date positive techniques using treats, praise, play, and tailored rewards.
