Happy Training, Happy Doggy

I’m bilingual in English and Mandarin, so I can train your dog to understand commands in either language—perfect for multilingual households. My goal isn’t just quick results, but long-term success. I focus on strengthening your bond with your dog while building practical, real-life skills you can rely on every day.

What to expect

Consultation

During a consultation, I get to know you and your dog, discuss your goals, and observe your dog’s behavior. I then explain what’s causing any issues and provide a simple, customized training plan using positive reinforcement. Pet parents should share their dog’s history and behavior details. After the consultation, you’ll receive clear next steps and options for continuing training sessions.

Sessions

Typically in your home

During a typical training session, we work hands-on with your dog using positive reinforcement to teach clear, practical behaviors like focus, leash manners, and basic obedience. I demonstrate techniques first, then guide you as you practice so both you and your dog learn together. Pet parents are expected to participate actively, stay consistent, and use treats or rewards during training. Your involvement is key to your dog’s progress. Between sessions, you’ll practice the exercises at home for short, regular periods to build consistency.

Positive Reinforcement

A dog trained with positive reinforcement learns by being rewarded for good behavior rather than punished for mistakes. When the dog performs a desired action—like sitting, staying, or coming when called—it immediately receives something it enjoys, such as a treat, praise, or playtime. Over time, the dog associates the behavior with positive outcomes and is more likely to repeat it. This method builds trust, strengthens the bond between dog and owner, and encourages confident, willing behavior instead of fear-based obedience.
