Expert Trainer, Positive Solutions
With decades of training experience and a love of learning, I bring a deep wealth of knowledge to my clients. I work hard to provide enjoyable, effective coaching, using humane techniques to meet your goals. Advice is tailored to each individual dog. Sessions include detailed email recaps. To experience the best possible relationship with your dog, we'll focus on understanding their behavior, building a strong bond, communicating in a way they understand, and teaching the skills you both need to live a joyful life together.

What to expect
Consultation
Our initial consultation (which is a paid-for service) is scheduled after you've completed an intake form/behavior report. I will evaluate your dog in person, gather additional information, provide advice so you can begin addressing the training or behavior issue right away, and recommend next steps to help you meet your goals.
Sessions
We typically meet for about 50 minutes at each session, which may include me gathering information about your goals and your dog's behavior, outlining a training plan, demonstrating techniques to you, and coaching you as you work with your dog. You will be asked to provide high-value treats that your dog really loves. Detailed notes follow each session so you know how to work effectively with your dog between our meetings.
More info
My gentle teaching methods make learning fun and rewarding for your dog. Using food rewards is often the quickest way to lay a training foundation, and then a variety of non-food rewards can be used to cement your dog’s new skills. For problem behaviors, I have 34 years of professional experience providing creative solutions. My approach includes: identifying the WHY behind the behavior; creating acceptable outlets for natural dog behaviors; managing the environment to prevent rehearsal of behavior problems; and teaching desired behaviors to replace unwanted ones.
