Certified Dog Trainer | CPDT-KA
I’m a CPDT-KA certified professional dog trainer with a B.S. in Psychological Sciences, Fear Free certification, and additional experience in service dog training. My approach goes beyond teaching cues—I focus on understanding why behavior is happening and creating practical, individualized training plans that work for both the dog and the person. I have experience with everything from puppies and everyday manners to fear, reactivity, leash skills, cooperative care, and more complex behavior challenges.

What to expect
Consultation
A consultation gives us a chance to discuss your dog’s history, current behavior, your goals, and any challenges you’re experiencing. I’ll ask questions about what you’re seeing at home and, for in-person consultations, observe your dog directly. From there, I’ll recommend the most appropriate training approach and help you determine whether individual sessions or a training package makes the most sense.
Sessions
Each session is tailored to your dog and your specific goals. We’ll begin by reviewing progress and any challenges since our last session, then work hands-on with your dog while I demonstrate techniques and coach you through using them yourself. I focus on practical skills you can confidently continue between sessions, and we’ll finish with clear priorities for what to practice before we meet again.
More info
I use reward-based, individualized training that focuses on clear communication, thoughtful management, and reinforcing the behaviors we want to see more often. I consider temperament, genetics, learning history, environment, and each dog-owner team’s needs. For fear or reactivity, I work gradually using techniques such as desensitization and counterconditioning. My goal is practical skills, confidence, and a relationship that makes everyday life easier.
