Positive training in MoCo, MD.
I have over a decade of experience working in people-facing support roles, so I am great at teaching YOU to train your dog by breaking down training concepts and skills in simple ways. I send detailed follow-up notes after each session and can provide video review upon request as well.

What to expect
Consultation
For dogs with complex behavior challenges OR over four months, the first session is virtual. Regardless, we will discuss training challenges, goals, routines, and how to best manage your dog's environment and provide enrichment in order to avoid unwanted behaviors and start building better habits. We also do hands on training during this first session. Virtual sessions allow us to cover foundations without my presence being a distraction for your dog, and will also include hands on training.
Sessions
After the virtual starter session, we will begin training sessions in your home. Where we go from there depends on training goals - with some clients we will continue to do in-home sessions, and with others we will move on to working in nearby parks, etc.
More info
My primary goal as a dog trainer is to support humans and pups in living more peacefully with each other. I assess the needs, goals, and abilities of each being and work with you to find creative, effective ways of hitting that middle ground - where everyone has their needs for emotional safety, mental stimulation, and physical exercise met. This in-depth process also involves strategizing ways of communicating with our dogs what we would like from them, and showing humans how to better understand what our dogs are trying to communicate to us.
