Built for the Real World.

I don't just teach dogs to perform — I teach them to understand. There's a difference between a dog that sits in your kitchen and a dog that holds position at an open door while the neighborhood falls apart. I train for the second one. If it doesn't work without me standing there, it isn't finished yet. All breeds, all backgrounds, and all the dogs other trainers told you were too much.

What to expect

Consultation

Every engagement starts with an honest assessment — your dog, your goals, and what it's actually going to take to get there. I'll observe how your dog moves, responds, and makes decisions, and tell you exactly what I see. No upselling, no sugarcoating. You'll leave with a clear plan, realistic expectations, and specific homework. Training doesn't happen in the hour we spend together — it happens in how you handle your dog the other 23. I'll make sure you know how. Come ready to participate. The owners who get results are the ones who show up engaged.

Sessions

Typically in your home

Sessions are working sessions — not demonstrations. You'll be hands on from the start because the goal is to transfer the skill to you, not just your dog. I'll show you the mechanics, explain the why, and then put the leash in your hand. I bring the treats. Novel, high value rewards your dog hasn't burned out on make sessions more productive from the start. Every session ends with homework. Specific tasks, specific criteria, specific things to watch for. What happens between sessions determines how fast your dog progresses. Vaccination records required prior to first session.

Positive Reinforcement

LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) based training focused on building genuine understanding — not just compliance in ideal conditions. I meet every dog where they are, establish a strong reinforcement foundation, and use the most effective approach necessary to achieve real world reliability. Because a dog that only performs in your living room isn't trained.
