Specialty: behavior modification
I am the only dog trainer in the United States with my combination of credentials and training experience, which includes working under the direction of a board certified veterinary behaviorist (DACVB) to identify medical issues which may present as behavior symptoms. I am an honor’s graduate of Animal Behavior College, a certified professional dog trainer through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, a Fear Free Certified Professional, a Certified Nose Work Instructor and an international faculty adviser for the Victoria Stilwell Academy for Dog Trainers.

What to expect
Consultation
Initial consults are 60-minutes in your home and include: - A functional assessment of the possible causes of your dogs' unwanted behaviors (causes can be medical, environmental, genetic or learned), as well as the best training tools and techniques to address these behaviors - Comprehensive and individually customized management, enrichment and training plans to curb existing unwanted behaviors and prevent future issues from developing - Hands-on practice of your first training exercise(s) All new clients are required to complete an intake questionnaire prior to scheduling a consult.
Sessions
All private lessons are customized to fit your lifestyle and home environment. I strive to provide you with exercises that can be practiced during your regular dog-related responsibilities (i.e. during walks, feeding, etc.), minimizing your need to block out additional time for training. We begin lessons in the comfort of your home and progress to field trips, where we can simulate real-world situations. It is important to remember that training is a process, one that must be done at your dog's pace to help him/her build confidence through incremental success.
More info
My goal is that you and your dog learn how to become a more confident team through a relationship built on mutual trust and understanding. I believe in using evidence-based, positive reinforcement training methods, empowering you and your dog to navigate real-world situations without the need for physical force, fear or aversive training tools. I focus on teaching the "why" behind the "how" of dog training concepts, enabling you to become a better advocate for a valued member of your family.
