Trainer of high-energy dogs
I have experience training many animals including dogs, horses, cats, and goats. I love teaching people and their dogs how to have fun through training, sport, detection, and enrichment! If you are ready to enjoy your dog for who they are instead of constantly feeling like you have to fight them, I'm the trainer for you! I currently handle a conservation detection dog, and together we have experience detecting wildlife disease, bird/bat fatalities, and wolf scat. I have trained dogs in nosework/scentwork, parkour, agility, and treibball foundations, in addition to basic obedience behaviors.

What to expect
Consultation
During your consultation, I'll collect a detailed history on your dog and any behavior challenges you might be experiencing. We'll discuss your training goals and how long I anticipate resolving the issue or training the required behaviors will take. I will request a demonstration of you and your dog training or playing together (this can be a video or in person). We will go over expectations for training and I will give you foundational skills to work on before our first session. I always send followup emails with a summary of the session and a date/time for your next session.
Sessions
A typical session will include a check in, a demonstration of the behaviors you've worked on and how they are looking now, and a discussion of anything that might have come up since the last time we spoke. Then we will dive in to training according to your goals! Between sessions, I am available for quick chats if anything comes up, and I may request you to send me a progress video of your training. I always send followup emails with a summary of the session for your reference.
More info
My goal is to transform and enrich the lives of dogs and their humans through the use of ethical and effective training. I begin with a foundation of positive reinforcement training and management strategies to prevent the rehearsal of any unwanted behaviors, and we build up from there! Once a dog's basic needs are met and foundations put into place, peaceful and fulfilling coexistence is possible!
