Building Good Canine Citizens!
What sets me apart is a positive‑first approach focused on real‑world manners, not just tricks. I prioritize clear, reward‑based training to build motivation and confidence, then thoughtfully add fair boundaries and consequences only when a dog truly understands a behavior but struggles to be consistent. My goal is to help dogs and their humans reach an AKC Canine Good Citizen level of behavior. I also take the time to coach owners, break skills into simple homework, and adapt the plan to your dog’s age, temperament, and household so the training actually sticks in everyday life.

What to expect
Consultation
A typical consultation focuses on understanding your dog, your household, and your goals so we can build a clear plan together. We’ll review your dog’s history, routine, and behaviors you’d like to change, plus any safety concerns or past bites. I’ll explain my positive‑first approach, set realistic expectations, and give you starter exercises. Afterward, you’ll get a clear summary and simple homework to begin before the first full session.
Sessions
A typical session is hands‑on, structured, and focused on a few key skills so your dog doesn’t get overwhelmed. We’ll check in on progress, warm up with familiar exercises, then work on the goals we've stablished like leash manners, recalls, calm greetings, or mat work. I’ll demonstrate, then coach you so you can confidently practice between sessions. You’ll leave with clear homework, so you can be confident troubleshooting, and building on what your dog has learned.
More info
My training philosophy is positive‑first, with the goal of helping dogs become polite, confident “good canine citizens”. I start every new behavior with clear, reward‑based training so dogs learn to love working with their guardians, then thoughtfully layer in fair boundaries and consequences only when a dog truly understands the cue but struggles to follow through. I focus on AKC Canine Good Citizen skills like loose‑leash walking, calm greetings, settling around distractions, and coming when called, so the training you invest in shows up in everyday life, not just in class.
