Learn what your dog CAN do!
Training should be fun and collaborative with you and your dog working together. Every dog is an individual! By using a fear-free training approach, I will help you consider your dog's personality, genetics, what positively motivates them, and environmental factors - all things that can influence behavior. I believe the best recipe for training success is having mutual respect and understanding between human and dog. You can always expect honesty and empathy from me, and if I feel like I can't help you, I will put you in contact with someone who can.

What to expect
Consultation
Gathering thorough background information. Addressing client concerns and establishing goals. Assessment of potential genetic components, personality traits, environmental factors, your dogs likes and dislikes. Training exercises to begin working on right away. A recap email of the session and next steps for training.
Sessions
Each session will expand on what we worked on the previous session. I ask owners to take just a few minutes a day (if you can do more, great!) to practice what you learned so that we know where to go each session. Do we need to adjust anything, keep going, etc.
More info
You can expect a fear-free training approach from me, using what positively motivates your dog. I adhere to the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior's (avsab.org) Position Statement on Humane Dog Training, and will not use e-collars or any form of choking collars as they increase cortisol levels and inhibit learning.
