Fear Free certified CPDT-KA
I like to take my time getting to know your dog as an individual. I like to get creative with my training methods while always sticking to Positive-reinforcement and Fear Free methods. I love doing basic obedience but my niche is dogs with behavioral challenges. I love helping them work through fear, anxiety, and stress, especially within the veterinary setting.

Consultation
My goal for a consultation is information gathering. If you have any specific goals, I ask that you put a list together so we can spend this time putting a plan together and deciding how many sessions to start with. Please let me know in advance if your dog has any food allergies. I will bring my own treats but ask that you provide some of your dogs favorite snackies at every session. We will spend the time getting to know each other (your dog included!) and coming up with initial steps for training. The follow up session is where we will take a deeper dive into training methods and practices.
Sessions
Most sessions will last about an hour long, but I continue based it on the dog's responses. Our dogs don't always have the longest attention spans and so focusing for an hour on one thing is a challenge. We will likely discuss and practice several different topics or skills within one session to keep things interesting for the dog and flowing smoothly. My goal is to empower pet parents to be able to confidently work with their pets themselves in order to facilitate the best learning possible and we can often do so successfully both in person and virtually.
More info
I am a positive-reinforcement based, Fear Free certified dog trainer. I believe the best way to work through behavioral challenges are to learn as much as we can about dogs and their behavior, as well as what our pets find reinforcing. Dogs communicate with us in their own language and it's important to take the time to understand their communication cues. Dogs are individuals and it's essential to figure out what motivates them most. I never judge a pet parent for their struggles with their dog. My goal is to empower pet parents to create a lasting bond with their best furry friend!
