Good Behavior Is R(+)einforced!
Hi, I’m Rachel — a positive reinforcement trainer with experience teaching group classes and private lessons, along with a background in veterinary administration. My approach is structured, consistent, and reward-based. I help dogs learn that good choices lead to good things: treats, praise, confidence, and connection. Because the truth is, good behavior doesn't come out of thin air — it’s R(+)einforced!

What to expect
Consultation
Initial visits will include a discussion of wanted/unwanted behaviors, goals and expectations, and an overview of the fundamentals of positive reinforcement. *Please have training treats - small ones, so we can give LOTS! :) I recommend testing them ahead of time to make sure they are ones your pup loves (and, if they've never had them before, making sure the new food won't cause tummy upset). Great budget treats: frozen blueberries, plain Cheerios, or regular ol' kibble. *I also recommend having favorite toys ready, in case our furry friends are more excited for playtime than for snacks. :)
Sessions
Each session begins with a check-in to review progress — what’s improved, what’s unchanged, and what might need a new approach. I introduce concepts in clear, intentional stages to strengthen communication between you and your dog. Also, sorry - I give homework. :) Training takes patience, consistency, and trust - especially for us humans! The work you do with your pup between sessions is just as important as the sessions themselves.
More info
Good training builds trust, not fear. I use positive reinforcement with a focus on communication and confidence-building. I don’t use force or intimidation - instead, I help dogs learn that good choices lead to good things. I believe every dog deserves to be seen as an individual, and every session should feel safe, structured, and full of encouragement. When we listen to our dogs and reward what’s right, we help them grow into their best selves.

Availability
Currently, I'm available for in-home training sessions most weekends between 11am-3pm. Pet parents must be present! I believe it's more important for your pup to listen closest to you than to me. :)
