What to expect
Consultation
During the consultation we will review your dog's history, current routines, and what challenges you are looking to address with training. We will discuss your goals and identify what a recommended training plan would be. If time allows, I will provide 1-2 introductory exercises to get you started on training. The consultation is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and decide if we are a good match!
Sessions
During your first training session I will introduce the first steps in your training plan with hands-on exercises. Make sure to have plenty of treats ready to go, small, delicious, bite size pieces of your dog's favorite snacks will help us to start rewarding new, desired behaviors. Following your session you will receive training notes, reviewing your session and any training homework, as well as related handouts to help you practice between sessions!
More info
I utilize training methods based on science-based standards, following an explicitly ethical framework for training, engaging dogs in learning and behavioral change through the use of reinforcement based strategies. My training methods promote engagement and enhance communication skills, making you and your dog partners in training and in life. My mission is to provide clients with the training techniques to create trusting partnerships with their dogs, which is the kindest, most effective method of training.
