Experienced and Passionate Trainer
I believe that we should teach and train our dog, but not feel the need to micromanage everything. I strive for dogs who are not just well trained but well behaved, because they are choosing to be, not out of force or fear. We need to train the dog in front of us, and not try and cram them in a one-size-fits box that may not work for them. All training paths are unique and tailored to the individual.

What to expect
Consultation
Since our canine companions can’t speak English I rely on detailed information from owners about their dog. Please be prepared with vaccination records/any medical history that could affect behavior, as well as any known behavioral concerns. Flat collar or harness and standard leash (non-retractable) and your pup’s favorite treats. We will go into detail about your goals for training as well as any questions or concerns. I do assign homework in between training sessions! I want to be sure that whatever training I do with your dog can be practiced by anyone who will be handling the dog.
Sessions
Depending on your goals and schedule we will have to commit to a training regiment that includes our sessions as well as your ‘homework’. Owner/handler MUST be present for AT LEAST 1/2 of the sessions (ex. 3/6, 4/8, etc), but are welcome to all sessions. You will receive handouts tailored to specific topics we are working on, as well as detailed instructions if needed. Typically training starts in a low distraction and comfortable environment, which can then be transferred and practiced at other locations (outside, park, pet friendly stores, etc)
More info
My philosophy is based on the bond between dog and their handler. Many ‘bad’ behaviors stem from a miscommunication and misunderstanding between the dog and their owner. I believe in positive reinforcement, as well as consequences (NOT punishments!) for unwanted behaviors. Building structure and boundaries will result in a better relationship as well as better behaved dog.

Availability
I am currently rather flexible and would love to work out a schedule that works for both the handler and myself. Ideally would like to plan sessions when the owner/handler is able to attend as well as create a routine, whether it be multiple times a week, biweekly, etc.
