Adaptive, aware, patient trainer
My schooling lasted for 4 months, Monday through Friday, from am to pm, so I learned a LOT. The school gave us a dog to work, train and learn with. Then when we graduated we got to keep the dog and that’s how I have my Belgain Malinois now that’s proficient in odor, tracking and obedience. I’ve worked with a variety of working animal breeds so I can confidently handle high energy dogs.

Consultation
During a consultation the biggest thing is making sure we all get along and are on the same page. We’ll go over what you want accomplished during training. I’ll access your dog’s drive and trainability. I like to make sure I’m a good fit for you and your dog so you get the most out of it.
Sessions
Training can happen at your house where your dog is likely to be more comfortable or it can be in a public space to work with distractions. I’ve had sessions last 20 min to an hour. What we do for the session depends on what outcome you’d like with your dog. For example we’ll take heeling. I would show you how I do it, talking through my steps and hand motions (with lure) and then I would have you try it, critiquing where needed. And if we’re still having trouble we’ll take it as it goes and go with a different approach.
More info
I use a lot of luring with food or toy to get your dog to the position I would like. I also use a leash to help with guiding, control and attention.

Availability
I’m home more often than not. I prefer training in the morning because it’s cooler and then I like to use your dogs breakfast for rewards during training
