What to expect

Consultation

Intro consultation: 60 minutes ($100) I will get to know you and your dog, your routine, and goals while observing your dog’s behavior. You'll get to know me to see if we're a good fit. I will provide an initial training outline, then use my notes to create a detailed plan and exercises for our next meeting. What you'll get: -> Get to know your trainer. -> Brief training plan and tips based on observations. -> A follow-up plan for our next session. I'll then send an intake form for extra details about your dog.

Sessions

Typically in your home

High-Value Rewards: Have favorite toys, balls, or 0.5–1 cup of bite-sized treats (0.5 in. or smaller) ready. Please let me know of any food allergies. If your dog exhibits severe possession guarding, I will refer you to a specialist. Dedicated Focus: Each session runs for one hour. Plan for a distraction-free window where you can stay fully engaged. Downtime Distractions: We will spend time discussing techniques and taking short breaks; have a chew, bone, or stuffed KONG ready. Pre-Session Routine: Ensure your dog is fed, well-exercised, and well-rested so they are all ready to learn.

Positive Reinforcement

I practice evidence-based, positive reinforcement training—no quick-fix "balanced" methods, punishment, or shock/choke collars. Building mutual trust and keeping your dog safe are my top priorities. I offer a variety of ethical services based on what we agree upon, from daily walks and play sessions to crate practice and long-line field training. While I don't work with dogs that have a history of biting or resource guarding, I'm always happy to help point you toward great local resources that specialize in those behaviors.
