Consultation

I prefer to do a consultation on the phone before scheduling any sessions to make sure we're a good fit. The consultation is FREE.

Sessions

Typically in your home

In your first session, I will meet with you and your dog and talk with you more about your goals for training. That will also give me a chance to see your dog in action. We will problem solve the issue together and come up with a plan. I will coach you through the plan - step by step - and send you written notes after each meeting. The notes will summarize what we worked on and will include specific skills that you can work on with your dog.

3 years experience
Positive Reinforcement

I have been training dogs my whole life, starting with my first dog - a golden retriever - in AKC obedience. Having volunteered at three different animal shelters in two different states, I have been fortunate to encounter many different breeds and temperaments. One-sized training does not fit all. These days, I mostly work with building foundations for new puppies and adult dog behavior problems (excluding aggression cases). I try to listen to the dog as much as I can before barging in with my own ideas about what needs to happen in any scenario.
