Off to the Races!
I think that each trainer has something to offer. I also believe that there is more than one-way to train a particular behavior. The trainer and dog must work together as a team as well as the trainer and owner. I am dedicated, empathetic and goal oriented. At the same time, I am realistic and will share if I don't think I am the right fit for a specific client.

What to expect
Consultation
During a consultation, I will sit and listen to what the owner is struggling with and what they hope to accomplish. Depending on the "reason" for the consult, I may observe the dog with their owner. I may work with the dog if I think the dog is comfortable at this early stage.
Sessions
"IT DEPENDS" is a common phrase for me. There are many variables that come into play and as a result, I do not have a set (black and white) system. I have to consider what the owner's goals are, where the dog is currently at in its development, the dog's stamina etc. The owner needs to participate at some level so they have the information/skills to remain consistent.
More info
I believe in approaching each dog as an individual. Their mental well-being has to be a priority and building trust is non-negotiable. Positive training techniques are ideal and are used in most training plans. That being said, I personally believe that aversive training methods do have a part in the "training world". Breed, temperament, age, behavioral concern and owner's ability and preference are always factored in.
