Brains, Treats, and Better Behavior
I have expanded my expertise through Duke University’s certification of the coursework in "Dog Emotion and Cognition", taught by Dr. Brian Hare—the founder of the Duke Canine Cognition Center and author of The Genius of Dogs. In other words, I’m learning from the guy who literally wrote the bestseller on how dogs think.

What to expect
Consultation
A typical training consultation begins with a conversation—because before I train your dog, I like to understand you and your goals. We’ll review your dog’s history, behavior patterns, daily routines, and any “mystery moves” they’ve developed over time. Then I’ll observe your dog in real time, assessing body language, temperament, and how they respond to their environment.
Sessions
A typical training session builds on the goals we set during your consultation. We’ll work hands-on with your dog using positive reinforcement, shaping new skills in manageable steps and celebrating every bit of progress—yes, even the small wins count. I’ll demonstrate techniques, coach you through practical exercises, and adjust our approach as we go based on your dog’s learning style and energy level that day. By the end of each session, you’ll have clear homework, realistic expectations, and a dog who feels like they just aced a "pup" quiz.
