Relationship and Confidence is Key!
I prioritize relationship and confidence with your dog first and foremost. Obedience skills and training come when relationship and confidence are in place first. Also, I truly understand that dogs are individuals. My own dog's unique training needs helped me to understand that creativity is needed in dog training and no one size fits all. Expect observation, communication and creativity when working with me! I hope to help pet parents and handlers feel empowered to set their dog up for success!

Consultation
During this session, I take time to observe your dog and discuss your goals so we can create a training approach that works for your unique situation. Building relationship is first and foremost! We will discuss temperament, confidence level, engagement with their handler, previous training and current habits. Together, we will set realistic expectations and goals for your dog based on these variables.
Sessions
Sessions are equal parts observation, play, and relationship-building. During our first session, we will discuss capturing desirable behaviors, as well as luring and shaping training techniques. We will also experiment with various rewards methods to identify low, medium and high-level rewards for your dog. From there, we will start low-level and build towards higher-level abilities at the pace that works for your dog.
More info
My training philosophy centers on building relationship thorugh games-based, play-based, and rewards-based learning. When we build value in the behaviors we want, dogs naturally make better choices and become enthusiastic learners. Using positive reinforcement and play creates flexibility and adaptability in training, allowing me to customize my approach to each individual dog’s temperament, motivation, and learning style. All of this helps dogs and their parents/handlers to build relationship- which is key in overcoming training challenges.
